The matinees are a good deal at $6.50. Another thing I like about this theater is that they dont blast the air conditioner to the point of forcing me to bring a sweater in the scorching heat of an L.A. summer--they keep the temperature at a comfortable level. The cinema that I always wind up in (cinema 2--first one on your right) is very small, so in order to get a good seat, its recommended to get here as early as possible even though you are made to sit in the dark till the start of the movie. Thats right, the lights are off at all times--before, during, and after the showing of the film. Also, the screen is higher than it normally is in other venues, so it is literally a pain in the neck to watch a two-hour film. One last thing: Just before the start of the movie, a voice comes on asking people not to talk or text during the movie so as not to bother others. So to the woman who was sitting two seats away from me, reading text messages (or e-mails, or whatever) during the movie, and who hissed at me, "I have got to do this!" when I whispered to her that what she was doing was very bothersome: Merely "reading" text messages or e-mails is just as inexcusable as actually texting since the bright light of your phone is what intrudes, disrupts, annoys, distracts, and detracts (from my enjoyment of viewing the film). Get it? If you *have got* to read something on your phones screen, get up and go outside. Next time, muttonhead, sit in an aisle seat in the very back row where you can come and go as you please without disturbing anyone when the necessity to use your phone arises. Capiche?

A local favorite. Screening rooms are pretty small and cozy but its always fun to see a movie in the neighborhood. They do have pop corn and some candies, I like to order food from next door at TACOS TU MADRE and then have them during my little movie I hope that okay. Parking is a little scarce there is a pay lot on Melbourne for $5.00 or across the street at the Post Office nearest the House of Pies. Make sure you pay your meter or whatever the parking meter here dose not mess around. It is also convininelty located of the Red Line Vermont/ Sunset Station which is always a nice option. Just walk north up towards Franklin when you exist the subway. They also offer a senior discount.

This is one of my favorite theatres in Los Angeles. Good ticket prices, great snack prices, comfortable seating, interesting movie selections, great lighting, and charming lobby commercials. Whats the catch? Well, the seating is so limited that if you dont get there early it can be sold out or worse - you could end up with bad seats. As long as you can be there 15 minutes early - you should be alright 90% of the time.

This theatre is not historical landmark but is part of group that owns Vista Theatre. It is in heart of Los Feliz art district, among shopping, restaurants and close to Griffith Park and Observatory. This movie house has 3 screens, they play first run movies; you may rent it for filming or other events. A must see for architectural features and its unique history; it was restored to original art deco style.

This JOINT touts the LATEST & GREATEST , BUT ITS DEFINITELY NOT!!!!!.......SUB PAR ACOUSTICS ,NOT A GREAT VARIETY OF SNACKS(NO PRETZELS & HOTDOGS) which anyone could, but the STAFF had the worst BEDSIDE MANNERS!!!!.........DEFINITELY WILL NOT RETURN, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT THE PRICES ARE THE SAME AS IF , I ATTEND A FIVE STAR THEATER!!!!!

One of my favorite places to see movies and has been for a long time. The price is definitely affordable. I like the location, that stretch of Vermont Avenue is one of the best in Los Angeles. Skylight Books is next door, an excellent real bookstore. Parking can be difficult, but Ive always managed to find a spot. Walking is good for you.

Its a quaint little cinema with 3 tiny, intimate theaters that make for a comfortable and unique watching experience. The purple neon lights that front Vermont Ave are classic and embedded in the character of the neighborhood. Make sure to eat your Juicy Burger meal before the movie because they will not let you bring it inside.

This small theater has old Hollywood charm and feels cozier than being in a theater chain, so it would make a great date spot! Red velvet curtains unfold to reveal the screens, and they even have an old-fashioned ticket booth out front. Concession prices are concession prices, but I like that I supported a small business.

Fantastic Theater plush , you feel you are at a or ore screening at someones house , out of the way and see first run movies for $10 bucks ! Go next door to Figaro cafe after the movie for Happy Hour and appetizers at $5-7. This wonderfully night out will cost you 30 bucks tops and you will feel like you spent $100.

Great prices, good movies, nice theater but the AC couldnt keep up on a hot summer day with a full house in the big cinema and its easy to get bad seats for popular showtimes as the rooms are small and people will hold entire sections.

Quaint small theater, very nice. The one bad thing about this theater is the people that go. We were visually assaulted by disgusting lesbians with no bras under their sweaters. Saggy boobs flopping around all over, total nightmare.

Lovely and cheap movie experience! Step back in time to a wonderfully restored Art Deco theater from the 1930s and watch a movie for half the price of other theaters. Get refillable pop corn at a great price as well.

$6.50 for a matinee in LA?! Yes please! Not an ordinary cinema - very quirky setups inside, but all adds to the experience. Popcorn is always fresh and made with coconut oil - not orange goo.

I love that I can walk to this theater. They always have at least one movie of the three I am interested in seeing. The picture and sound quality is also exception for this size theater.

A fun place to watch a film. Could be a little cheaper considering screen and sound quality but its a good place to see something without going to the soulless blockbuster multi screens.

It is the closest theatre to my house and they play good movies, but the walls are thin between the theatres and you can hear the sound from the movie next door. Really annoying.

Fantastic popcorn! Cheap tickets. Its only worth it to see films in the big theatre. My tv at home has a bigger screen than the other two small theaters. Parking sucks.
