Came here for a Cinespia screening of Edward Scissorhands and wasnt sure what to expect. I figured itd be pretty nice since it had been renovated, but I wasnt prepared for how gorgeous it was in here! Its always amazing to see old buildings (say, anything before 1950)--all the craft and decoration that went into them, even though it mustve been harder for them without all the modern technology. It was a very popular and crowded event that night, and the way theyd set up the concessions next to the bathrooms was just an absolute nightmare. We were thinking about getting a drink, but we took one look at that line and said, no way. Not to mention all the people in line to get their pics taken at the photo booth getting confused with the people in the concession/bathroom line...arrrrrgh. We just barely got to use the bathroom and make it back to our seats in time for the show. I must say that the picture and sound quality of the movie was just so-so--I think Cinespia brought in their own set up that they use for the outdoor screenings or something. That said, we still had an excellent time. Im sure it was mostly because it was such a cool, enthusiastic crowd. And the movies really held up well over the years. It was definitely a treat to see a screening in a place with such great ambiance.

The Palace is a beautiful old building! Granite, marble, beautiful frescoes.. this theater is rich with history. The seats are plush worn velvet (but theyre narrow!), and the small bathrooms have a never-ending line. Lots of steep stairs, look out of youre in tall heels! Little to no a/c so it gets warm. Every seat had a good view of the stage! Theres a parking garage 1 1/2 blocks away, an easy 5 minute walk.

Theres always one super long line to get in. The seats suck if youre over 4ft tall. Your knees WILL hit the person in front of you and your legs will cramp. The theatre is somewhat pretty since it is very old and maintained. If youre on the balcony, it can make you feel claustrophobic since the ceilings are low and the seats are crammed together. The employees are always pleasant, though.

This theater built in 1911 as the Orpheum has gone through some changes probably for the good. Most interior decorations and areas have been nicely redone with attention to detail. You can wonder the many floors including scarry basements. Check it out. You wont be dissopointed.

The Palace is a beautiful Art Deco theater in downtown LA. Ive attended both concerts and TED-style panel discussions there. The bathrooms could use some updating; other than that I love the place!

Nice little theater... The place needs some maintenance but not bad. Park structure really close by.

Beautiful theatre that still holds its vintage charm and magic from the era of classic Hollywood.
