I love Lomitas historical elements, this is definitely my favorite. This tiny museum is a treasure trove of Victorian/railroad memorabilia. It was built as a copy of Boston & Maines Greenwood Station at Wakefield, Massachusetts. You can walk into retired railroad cars and examine them at your leisure. Sound lame? Hardly. The attention to detail and artistry of these pieces is unbelievable. Also found in the museum: Old signs and photographs from the railroads heyday on the west coast. As I recall, employees are extremely knowledgeable on the subject. This is an attraction for all ages. Since this is a hands-on museum, children can spend hours exploring it. If your teen is interested in anthropology, architecture, heritage, history, independent businesses, nonprofit work, technology, etc, this is a great place to take them. Photographers will love it, too--some of the angles and effects one can produce inside the old cars are unique challenges. I cant believe how inexpensive it is, either--$4.00 for adults and $2.00 for children under 12. Not to be missed!

Living twenty minutes away most of my life, I had no idea this was here. You drive through a quiet neighborhood of small homes, and suddenly theres a train car. Its not a huge museum, but if youre into trains and their history, they have lots of memorabilia. You can even rent the area across the street for a party. It has train cars and a few tables for a small party.

Love this museum! Visited on a Friday and it was so nice because there was not too many people. My 6 & 7 year loved walking through the exhibits with no crowds and being able to take their time. Will be renewing our membership once it expires.

There is an old engine and a caboose that you can walk through, a gift shop, and some old pictures. It was somewhat interesting but not worth seeking out.
