Weve been here many times with neighbors and bring relatives here when they visit ... I always ordered the ribs, as I do really enjoy ribs and order them everywhere ... lately, though, the portions seemed smaller and the ribs had more fat and gristle than previously ... next to last time here I ordered the horseradish pepper jack angus burger, which my neighbor (we usually go there with them) had ordered on his previous visit, which was excellent and good enough to write home about ... the four of us went there again Friday, May 1, for a movie outing ... three of us ordered the horseradish pepper jack burger and the other the classic burger, and an order of fried pickles for an appetizer ... well, you cant really screw up a "classic" burger, but the others didnt seem to have any horseradish ... now I like horseradish, even putting it in my home-made Bloody Mary, so I know how anything with horseradish should taste ... and - the fried pickles arrived about half-way through the entree - I think the waitress forgot about them until after I mentioned they werent there ... I know well be going back, as its conveniently close to home, and Ill give the burgers another shot ... it was very busy that night, with a pre-wedding party going on in the back room, but there was enough staff to make wait time minimal ... I just wish they would bring back hefeweisen and KJ Reserve chardonnay - Blue Moon is okay, but it aint hefeweizen and, although the J Lohr offered is a decent wine, the local wines, quite frankly, just dont cut it ... the Petite Petit, on the other hand, is quite nice ... I still give three stars because on the whole its a nice place to eat and have a brew, and sometimes things just happen ...

I enjoy every bit of this place. From an inside look (having worked there 2 years ago), they are extremely clean. They make sure they keep their customers satisfied and have an exceptional staff that takes pride in what they do. I have never had an issue with this restaurant before and after. I would recommend their fish tacos to everyone! CHANGE IS GOOD. They always update their menus with new surprises and beverages behind the bar (Which might I add is an extremely sweet set up with the TVs and all..especially during football season). I am very pumped for the new outside patio that is under construction where they will be having a stage for live music! I wish I could say more, but all and all... Nothing but good vibes and awesome service. Also, reading from previous reviews...i would like to note that from time to time the US Food and Drug Administration will put out a bulletin if there have been cases of food poisioning to remind people to thoroughally cook their meat, hence why the Pour House takes their time in making sure that this doesnt happen to their customers.

The following happened to my friend today when attempting to dine at this establishment: Today, my mother and I walked into The Pour House (On east ave) for some lunch, I walked in breast-feeding, got seated, handed menus and (I think the manager?) came over and asked me to cover myself up. I respectfully declined, stating that it was illegal for him to ask me to do that, and its not against the law to breast-feed in public. He replied that "out of respect for other customers" that I "needed" to cover up. So we left, I will NOT be going back. Ive never once had any other restaurant tell me to do that. When follow up calls were made to the restaurant regarding the incident, the restaurant supported their staff. Citing Cal. Civil Code § 43.3 (1997) allows a mother to breastfeed her child in any location, public or private, except the private home or residence of another, where the mother and the child are otherwise authorized to be present. (AB 157) this restaurant obviously upholds "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" and extends it to a one month old.

I went here on a Thursday at 4:30 with my love for our anniversary. It was extremely LOUD. We asked to be seated outside and the waitress wouldnt put us at the larger table because she wanted to leave it open if a bigger group came in. She offered us to sit at the couch with other people already there. ( no thanks its our anniversary we wanted a table to ourselfs.) So had to sit inside. OK no big deal. Except for the fact that we couldnt even hear each other. And after trying to have a conversation and having to ask each other to keep repeating what the other said, we gave up. Decided to only eat half our dinner and leave. We didnt even care to finish our drinks. I also had to get up and ask for our check and togo boxes. The food was only ok. Great if your just going for drinks and dont care to talk with the people you go with. Not sure if Id be willing to even give it another try. It gets one star because my server was nice and my first drink was great.

Today, we ordered a "Big, sexy burger" and "Chicken Marsala (I believe thats whats it called), and quesadillas as an appetizer. Every single thing was very oily, my husband did not finish his food, the patty was dripping with oil. My chicken dish was very oily too, I could see it on my sause and chicken. I changed my dish to a simple salad. The places management came by after we turned down the food and ask us whats wrong, we said its too oily. She replied that they dont use oil...maybe true, but, any meat has fat and when you fry it, its on the pan, you have to drain it. I absolutely cannot stand oily food and Im not satisfied with this place. Its was our first and last time there. The service is very friendly though.

Went to the pour house for anniversary dinner. My husband ordered fish tacos 3 very little tacos on the plate not much more. The fish was portion was very small. When we got home my husband ate left over from his dinner as the red lobster. My son had shrimp scampi,he said it didnt have much taste and not alot of food. He called round table pizza and ordered a pizza to pick up on the way home. I had chicken picantee. I will say my portion looked much bigger than my sons and it had good flavor. $80.00 for dinner plus 4 drinks plus tip. 2 of the people in my party had to eat more food when they got home. So if you have a larger appetite this isnt the place for you.

This is a nice place to get some food and drink, in Chico. The atmosphere is nice, both inside and out; with a contemporary industrial design. The giant tv draws crowds on Giants baseball game nights, and is visible from outer space. Bring sunscreen. They have a good selection of alcohol and wine but could use a few more tap selections. The service is almost always good and the staff friendly. You will be greeted with a smile at the door, but may have to wait a bit for a drink, depending in who is pouring. Overall for the amount of patrons with whom they have to keep up, they do a very nice job. I frequent this spot fairly often.
