This "dollar" theater is a nice place to go see older movies on the big screen. Most movies are a few months old, so if you prefer watching them on the big screen vs Netflix or redbox, give this place a shot. They have a lot of movie props and lifesized movie mannequins. The star wars ones are really cool. They do have a little video arcade to spend some quarters. If you plan on coming here often, get a loyalty cup for dollar refills. Popcorn is expensive just like other theaters. The theaters are OK, the main one is the best. The smaller theaters are sometimes sticky floored and the seats need to be reupholstered. Not a bad place to take kids on a weekend. Bring cash as they do not accept bank cards or use the ATM for a fee to get cash inside.

a good movie going experience(esp. if you do go out for movies a lot) . For one the price - $3 ( $2 on Tuesdays). Second & more important - If you missed out on watching some movie & its off the Harkins or AMCs , dont worry , that movie might be screened here & mostly for more than 4 weeks or so. Works out well for me as Im not someone whod like to watch a movie the week it releases. I can wait & what you get for waiting is that the movie reviews(ratings) get stabilized & you know better what you can expect. Snacks served in here are below avg , but i was impressed by their courtesy - they let us have the food we brought ( against their rule).

Awesome experience......was starting to get bummed about declining picture quality and bad dialog. Couldnt complain too much because of the prices. However the new digital projector and sound upgrades blew me away seeing the recent ironman. Impressive. Those complaining about prices? I can come here get a big popcorn, soda and ticket for about what just walking into an AMC door is. And the popcorn taste & quality IMHO is much better than the other chains in town, including Harkins. Thank You Mr. Pollack.....update 7-24 - still the best theater and popcorn of any chain....just awesome experience with a great staff - it shows !!!

From the moment you walk through the doors at Pollack Tempe Cinemas you will realize this theater has character. The arcade is full of classic games and the life-size movie models decorating the entire theater give the place a really cool feel. Ticket prices are affordable and so is the concession stand. Staff is friendly and they keep the building cool. Seats are comfortable though they are starting to wear out. They keep a decent selection of movies and rotate new ones in every month or so. Most of the movies are tailored towards families, but considering the price its a great place to watch a flick on the big screen.

The only downside is the amount of screenings is much more limited since most movies have 3 screenings sporadically placed throughout the day (making binge watching a little difficult) and some only screen once a day although that may be due to location since the theater is not next to a mall unlike the Picture Show at Superstition Springs Mall which is across the street from a Harkins. On the bright side, its 3.50 per ticket, 2.50 on Tuesdays, and it has a vintage feel with wax celebrity models and frames of posters for classical releases.

Ive been going here for years. I love that I can bring my daughter to so many great kids movies. I have been bringing since she was 6 months old. She and I really enjoy going to the movies. Now shes 3 years old. I love the selection that they have. Their popcorn is great their prices are amazing. Their new seats are very comfortable. Its something I can actually afford to do every week and we do :-) If you havent been here its worth going just to check out the figures statues and movie insignia.

For the price, nothing compares! All screens have been converted to digital projection, which means the image is crisp and bright. And they run all the best releases, if a month or so later. Ive read a few people comment negatively about snack prices, but they are NOT as expensive as at other theaters. Yes, more than a snack-bag size at Circle-K, but dollars lower here than at other theaters. Additionally, they now take debit & credit cards, a real improvement. NO LONGER CASH ONLY!

Everytime my children and I go to see a movie, old or new, we have a great time. They accept cards too so it makes it easier for me. Food prices are the same as other theatres for the most part, but still worth it to see the smile on the kiddos faces. We have seen a lot of the newer movies here and for way cheaper than regular theaters so the difference in concession prices doesnt make a difference to me. I recommend coming here.

Was turned away at door for 1st time ever...I have to take medication dissolved in liquid...the ticket seller refused to let me in with "outside beverage" ...other times I have attended they understood...as do other theater chains such as Harkins and AMC....today this person was very abrupt and said "well were not Harkins"....I won"t be returning and believe this may be a violation of the ADA act which I will be looking into

This theater is located in a nice shopping center. At Christmas time, it is always decorated very well. Inside the theater, there is various movie memorabilia, and old arcade games. The movie selection may not be more than 8 movies, but you cant beat the price. The theater remains pretty clean, considering the amount of traffic it gets on a daily basis. This is a great place to take a family to, or to have a fun date.

The best place in town for movie night with the family. Ticket and concession prices are insane nowadays and as an avid movie-goer Tempe Cinemas provides a 5-Star experience for under $10 ($3 ticket and $5.50 large popcorn). If you havent given this place a try I urge you to do so. The seats, sounds, and visuals are not outclassed by larger theaters, its just smaller. What reasonable person cares about that?

We planned a birthday movie for my daughter, 3 friends, her two brothers and Mom and Dad. Unfortunately, the times they list on the website are not accurate. The 10am movie does not exist. Of course when phoning for times they direct you to the website. If you are going to use the website it HAS to be accurate!!! We were not the only ones to show up for this movie. There were several others this morning.
