Do not buy fish from here if you dont already know what youre looking for. My original purchase was of neon tetras and pygmaeus corydoras, which I happily received. Got them acclimated and all, but the next day found one of the pygmies had passed away. I went back and they happily gave me another, and I got two additional to give them more friends to school with. This has been a few weeks. I have now realized I was not given pygmaeus corydoras at all. I have peppered Cory instead; which is fine, theyre all healthy. Except one, because it is a Pygmy. And it is all alone, without anyone to school with. And now to fix this problem I am stuck having to create a new cycled tank to get real pygmaeus corydoras. Otherwise, all fish are happy and healthy. But I am hesitant to return for business due to this situation.

I really like this store for several reasons. Every single time I go there the staff is very friendly and helpful. All the tanks are well maintained, and the fish and plant selection is great. Lots of coral too if youre into saltwater. This store is my main one stop fish shop because they almost always have what I need in terms of supplies, and if they dont, they tell me what local store does! Thats good service and why I keep coming back.

My fiancee and I had started out only planning on having one tank but once we got started we had trouble stopping! Now we have three tanks, two fresh, one salt, and every time we have a question or want for anything we know we can count on Monfort to have it! All of their staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and their prices on things are pretty hard to beat!

A family-owned business that still has the original owners for many years. Extremely knowledgeable people about aquarium fish. Is the only place in town you can get live black worms. A large and vast selection of fish and plants both freshwater and saltwater. They will even order you something special at your request.

Ive been coming here for over a year now and love it. Would have to say its the best overall store for aquatics in the Cinci area. Great selection of marine as well as freshwater fish AND plants. The two brothers that run the place are friendly and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend it! Pete

One of two fish stores in entire tristate area that i would recommend. The other being aquatics and exotics on hamilton ave. I drive 45 minutes pass countless petsmarts, jacks, etc to shop here. They have great service, inventory, knowledge and customer service.

Very good aquatic plants. Lots of selection. Cichlid selection is abysmal. Last couple times Ive been there, there have been a handful of dead fish still in the tanks. Prices on half the items there are just too high.

Great selection and very helpful staff! Even when I just stop in to buy fish food, I end up spending at least 20 minutes looking at their gorgeous tanks. Would recommend for anyone in the aquarium hobby.

Most of their non fish pets seem neglected. had a dead hermit crab jsut in the cage and i pointed it out the clerk said meh sometimes that happens.. could of removed it from the enclosure.
