Im offering this review from the standpoint of a musician AND an music fan. I have been playing music in Phoenix for over 30 years. I have also been to every possible music venue and corner bar in Phoenix. The Blooze is, without any doubt, my favorite joint from both aspects. Its not huge, its not fancy, the atmosphere is AMAZING! Tumbleweed and his wife Alaina(the owners) are the most accommodating and warm hearted people in the biz. Most of the bands are some of the best youll see in town. Rock, Metal, Blues, Rockabilly, The Blooze is a full spectrum music venue and my favorite large or small. The very best part is that even its your first time there, even if youre from out of town, whether you dress like a slob or are prepared to go to those over-priced Scottsdale joints with "dress codes", youre always welcome. Just say hi to any of the regulars (youll know who they are) and youre now part of the family. Spend a couple times there and youll understand. Being a part of that family is what brings us back. That family feeling is so important that when the bar burned last year, several HUNDRED patrons as well as several other local venue owners gathered to let Tumbleweed know he should rebuild AND THEY ALL HELPED HIM DO IT. I guarantee youll have a GREAT time at The Blooze Bar. Anytime, Day or Night!!

Is anyone noticing bar/club after bar that used to have live music slowly disappearing? Its getting harder and harder to find a good place to enjoy a cold beverage and watch a live band. The Blooze is a bar that has stood against the wind and remains an OPEN venue for live music. Its a place where more than rock and roll is played. It has the best blues night in the city every Sunday night with the Rocket 88s. Thursday nights brings in Rockabilly music including cool cars, cool garb and swing dancers. Local cover bands play as well as many bands who play their own originals on the weekends. Tumbleweed is a music connoisseur and is always open to have fresh new bands on stage as well as returning regulars. Bands from all over the country request to gig at The Blooze and Tumbleweed is happy to set up the stage for them. I recommend The Blooze to anyone looking for good music, good people, great prices & great service. Drop in! Youll feel right at home the minute you hit the door.

First time at this place last night, have to say the owner and everyone else who works there including the door man are just as cool and chill as can be. Everyone makes you feel welcomed and at home. They had a couple of rockabilly bands playing which were very good as well Reckless Ones and The Limit Club. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for good music and nice crowd. Dont mind the tough look of classic cars and motorcycles out front, the people seem to be there to enjoy a good beer and a good time. Speaking of beer they have very good prices, $2.50/domestic tap and $6.50 pitchers. (not sure if that was just the special for Thurs) Definitely worth it.

This is a bar that has managed to hold onto what a bar with music is supposed to be, very comfortable and welcoming to customers and musicians alike! The music is varied enough, so that if you dont care for one style, there are others that will tickle your fancy on other nights. The Sunday blues jam is awsome and one of the very best Blues Jams in town. The Rocket 88s run a superb jam and are awsome players. Every last one of them have been entered into the Arizona Blues hall of Fame! That says a lot!

Band was awesome, however, the long haired blonde female bartender was anything but friendly. She walked around with a scowl on her face and acted like her customers were all just pains in her a**! She was downright rude. She said she was the owner of the place. That might explain the lack of ppl there on a night they had the most awesome band there, it should have been packed, but there were empty tables. She really put a damper on our good time, but we still had fun with the band and dancing.

Omg we had the best time at the BLOOZE .. Its under new ownership & owner Jen was awesome.. We have been back 5 times already but the Pat Benatar tribute band was the best.. We have heard all the stupid rumors & lies on Fb so we had to check it out & believe me they are all LIES.. The owner is very nice & service was great & music was awesome.. That bar will be back on top very soon so dont miss out its great & fun. Yeah, she brought rockabilly back & country.. We love this bar again..

I went to the Blooze for the first time for the Sunday Blues dancing lessons. The teachers are patient, kind and excellent dancers themselves. You can go by yourself because the teachers ask everyone to rotate partners for each song. It was fun to watch and I finally participated at the end. The live music afterwards was amazing. It felt like being in a blues bar on Halsted Street in Chicago in the 70s. What a find!

Former customer here... Been a patron of this joint longer than the current owner Jen has been around. I will go back after she is gone, if there is still a place to go to when she is done with it. Seems to me as though Sunnyslope has crept over Peoria Mountain and is now overlapping Paradise Valley. See her posts below.... I got two words for you, Jen: TWEEKERS SUCK!

Place use to be fun. Last time I was there they charged me 10 bucks with no band. Another time they told me to leave for no reason. Your tabs will be high if you like to drink.......There are better places for fun. I am surprised the place is still in business for they way they treat customers.

Ok Ive only been there a couple of times but each time has been really fun they have really good music and like 4 dollar pitchers of beer. There are also a lot of really hot cars, bikes and girls that come hang out. The staff is super cool. Its an all around great bar.

If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say it. Went for open mic night and Ill stand by my opening statement. Positive: the musicians are friendly. If you get past the smell and the overserved regulars it could be tolerable? It might work for the neighborhood.

Touring band had no promotions by this bar, their posters were blank with no dates or time written in (scattered hamlet) however the bartender and waitress were friendly other than the fact you had to approach them whilst they were sitting down to get a drink!

Pretty disappointing overall. The bands are so so, unless you are into er....garage bands. Cheap beer, but who cares when you feel like you are sitting in a tomb the whole time. Very shady and questionable as far as overall scene. Good luck with this place.
