GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!! I went in Thursday to buy my boss a salt water fish for Christmas, so I picked out what I wanted and came back Friday morning and picked it up. We put him in the tank and I went in the next morning to feed and check on him..Did the same Sunday morning. Unfortunately, he was dead on the bottom of the tank when I got there early Sunday morning. I tried to call everyday since Sunday but with the holidays they were closed. I went in today, Thursday (their first day back open) just to be talked to and treated like crap.I have kept this adorable little fish in a bowl in the refrigerator, just to be told I should have froze him, and that I should have brought some water that didnt have a dead fish in it. If I would have known the fish would only live 2 days, I might would have brushed up on what to do when someone sells you a bad fish!! I was told a fish has no warranty and that they dont know that I didnt leave it in my trunk all weekend. I guess thats why I came back to pick him up the next day on my lunch. Not to mention the fish tank cleaning guy there cant ever show up when scheduled to. He has been no showing at my office for over 3 weeks. All I wanted is for them to do the right thing and replace the fish that I had just spent $40 on Friday morning. Picked up Friday and dead by Sunday is just not right. They said it could be the water yet there is another fish thats just fine thats been alive for almost 6 years. Then it could be that the other fish killed it, the fish that died was four times bigger than the one thats still alive so I doubt thats it either. They talked to me like crap all because they didnt want to do the right thing.Then, as I am walking out the guy says so you still want me to come out to clean the tank tomorrow". PLEASE do yourself a favor and take your money and business somewhere else. I DEFINATELY WONT BE A RETURN CUSTOMER AND NEITHER WILL THE COMPANY I WORK FOR!! By far the worst customer service I have ever seen!

I have purchased freshwater fish from them for over a year now all of which have died. Why did I keep going back? From time to time they had fish that I was looking for elsewhere, and I figured Id try my luck once more. Usually the owner (the short stout guy) was fairly reputable. Never offered me a guarantee for fish that die in a few days after purchase but would always take a little off of the same type fish I purchased. They often have sick and diseased fish and you can see this for yourself clearly if you know a little about fish and know what to look for...I googled to learn about the fish Ive owned via hard facts and forums. After frequently purchasing fish there I was surprised and irrate to recognise that the slim hillbillie with the beard would think to cheat me in the owners absence, quoting me a different price than what I ended up paying upon the owners return. The fish I purchased were once again noticeably infected with ich/velvet. I asked for a discount to no avail and was told there was no guarantee on fish. Often I would ask for a specific cichlid and the owner would always say that fish was on his order list and should be on his shipment the following Thurs. That was a year worth of Thursdays and I would always "just miss" that particular fish being sold to someone else. A tactic to get me in the store figuring Id buy something else. Anyway, needless to say my business apparently isnt good enough for them so Ill continue to get the exact fish I want shipped to my door from reputable breeders who give a guarantee on eBay.

This place is great. I come here at least once a week to check up on what new plants and driftwood they have in. Low prices mixed with a vast array of fresh and salwater supplies. Whatever you need Steve can get. Best selection of fresh and salwater frozen food anywhere around. I highly recommend this store if you are into advanced aquascaping or are even just beginning the hobby. Steve (owner) is extremely nice and will give you whatever advice you need. I will continue to come here over other aquarium stores, it os the best.

Dirty dirty dirty!! Went in after finding this shop on Google, and wow: what a mess! The tanks were so dirty, that there was slime and algae covering EVERYTHING. You could barely see the fish! Then, there were no prices posted. This tells me they price according to who is buying. The supplies are all old and by the look of their condition: most likely expired. Do not shop here. I have no idea how they stay in business.

Ive been going there for 30 years and they have always been very helpful and knowledgeable about fish. One of the last great locally owned mom and pop fish shops still left where the staff have an extensive knowledge of fish. They might not stock a ton of freshwater anymore, but they will order anything and always have quality fish including some odd balls you will not find anywhere else.

Absolutely the best selection of freshwater fish in the city. THe staff are knowledgeable, they have hand collected mopani wood and many other rare aquarium accessories. They sell salt water fish too. The store is a little run down but who cares. Staff are nice and will let you pick their brain about the hobby.

They had a great selection of fish, even though it was their off week of shipments. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, greeting and offering assistance right as we walked in. I would recommend to anyone in the Birmingham area for saltwater and freshwater needs.

I bought two clowns from the store 1 died I called them to let them know they said they would take care of it I decided I wanted a black white clown rather than an orange and white clown they let me upgrade at no extra cost very kind and very courteous

The guys at aquarium imports seem to know everything about every fish, fresh or salt, on earth. They are incredibly kind and helpful. They always give excellent advice based on your tank specifics and I look forward to my trips to their store.

Very interesting! I love this aquarium. I love when u can walk through the tunnel and the animals and fish are swimming over our heads. Fun place to visit. Awesome aquarium. One-of-a-kind exhibits and truly a great learning tool for kids.

steve and steve are really helpful. im a noob when it comes to aquariums, but they helped me out a ton. i go in there weekly with a list of question, but they never seem annoyed even though im sure they are. very nice place.

This place is disgusting, low light, snails everywhere. Would it hurt to clean the glass once in s while? To top it all off they have a big sign right when you walk in that states choose your fish carefully, no refunds.
