I can not say enough about how amazing this place is! I live in Pensacola, but I go to Ft. Walton Beach to visit family often. My sister set up a nano tank with live plants and shrimp. I thought it was so cool that I decided to set up a nano tank for myself. I went to Bluewater Zoo and the woman who works there was extremely helpful. I got several plants and a few red cherry shrimp to get me started. They have been thriving. Two of my shrimp are now pregnant. Once my tank was set up and running for a while, I went back there to get fish that would be compatible. I was really wanting to get celestial danios, but the girl there recommended dwarf emerald rasa bras that they had on sale. I was a little reluctant because they seemed a little drab, but she assured me that once in an established tank their colors would really come through. Boy, was she right! I bought the last remaining six they had. Within just a few days, they became so vibrant! Everything I have bought from Bluewater Zoo has been doing great! This is the only place I will shop for my aquatic needs.

My husband and I drove from Perdido Key to visit this store and it did not disappoint! We had been in a lot of reptile stores all over Florida and this is definitely one of our favorites. The enclosures they have on display are stunning. Due to limited space, you might not always find what youre looking for, but dont be shy and ask the owners as they may be able to do something for you. They even had an Axolotl, also known as a Mexican Salamander! We personally met the owner, Kurt, and he seemed very knowledgeable and passionate about the animals in his care. The store was very clean and all the displays, aquariums and terrariums were very well maintained.

Nice Fish , reptile and aquarium everything store, if they dont have it they can get it for you. I own many saltwater coral tanks and i order a lot of my special fishes thru Bluewater zoo, I want to say most if not all of my corals and fishes/invertebrates i ordered thru them are still alive and growing.Cannot say that at all for the chain stores, almost everything i have ordered from them has died long time ago. So if you want something that will live and prosper... get it from Bluewater Zoo. they know their stuff, how to properly acclimatize, and they wont sell you livestock if its not going to make it just to make a sale.

Spent $200+ there and took advice of salesperson on which fish to buy for our setup. Out of many dozens a few didnt make it, but the owner graciously gave us credit toward other fish. Would definitely recommend buying here...locally owned and operated with integrity.

By far one of the cleanest aquarium shops Ive been too. Staff was very informative and they had a lot of supplies most places dont. Not a huge selection of saltwater fish but for planted tanks they are top notch!
