Great opportunity for fun family outing! If you love wildlife and space to run around outside, it doesnt get much better than this. Its not the New England aquarium, but for a smallish nature center with free admission its very well done. Maymont is very hard to compete with, but if youre like us and go there all the time, this is a nice alternative and not very well known. The morning we visited, we were almost the only ones there. The young woman at the desk was pleasant and knowledgeable. Take your time going through as it is not huge. We enjoyed the chance to take in each exhibit without the rush of a crowd behind us or the pressure to "see it all." Afterward, we took pictures by the lake, walked the trail around another of the lakes and visited the well-designed playground.

Wanted to relax by the water for a short while. I googled lakes in the area, and this was close to where I was driving. It is very nice and relaxing. To our surprise, there is a little museum/aquarium building. It is good for the children and it offers a little educational experience. Pleasant and peaceful.

This has always been a great park to take kids to. You can combine a nature walk, looking at great exhibits, and some playground time all into one trip. The nature center is very interesting and the kids love it. The trails around the lake are well kept and offer some views of duck and turtles, sometimes more.

Been taking my children since we moved here in 1998, its been upgraded with more kid friendly equipment including swings for disabled children, my babies are all grown now I take my grands and they love this park, would be nice if there was a sprinkler system for the summer months...

Three lakes to walk around. Some of which allow fishing. They have a free nature center full of interesting animals. 2 large playgrounds that kids of all ages will have fun with. The park has several pokestops and 2 gyms as well.

Nice play areas with good walking trails. Not entire trails are paved so should stay away from sides due to loose gravel. Beautiful artifacts and cool creatures in the Nature center with free admission.

What a great place! The nature center was awesome. The staff is always friendly. They have a great playground one of the best in the city. The walking trails are awesome and its a great place to fish.

Great playgrounds and green space. Obviously the lakes are the star, but it is just a beautiful park with a good combination of sunny space and shade. Good for 2 - 5 year olds, and older kids, too.

If youre going to just see the "aquarium" youre going to be sadly disappointed. Its a collection of reptiles, turtles, and amphibians, and a large outdoor fish pond you can see into one end of.

Love this park! 3 small lakes, 2 for fishing, a nature center/aquarium, playground, and great trails through the woods around the lake. Great Bird and turtle watching, wonderful for dog walks.

Great park with a nice playground and a little nature center. Nature center has mostly snakes and turtles. The lake has a bunch of turtles and its fun to try to spot different ones.

The lake water itself is underwhelming and often looks more grungy than inviting. Still, its a nice outdoor space and the little nature center itself is pretty cool for what it is.

Great park to walking around the lakes alone. The kiddy play area can be crowded at times though. People who frequent the play area defiantly arent the friendliest.

Good park for dog walking. Usually very clean. The way the trails wrap around the lakes you could just keep walking all day.
