Fantastically beautiful and peaceful little park in Pioneer Square, Seattle. Built in 1977 by Jim Casey, founder of UPS. One reviewer commented that oddly its run by UPS. Thats because this is the sight one which that great company started August 28, 1907. Jim Casey and Claude Ryan started "American Messenger Company" in the basement of Claudes uncles saloon, with $100 (what today would be about $2500). Today UPS spans the globe and generated over $58 billion in revenue.

I first visited this small waterfall park in the late 1970s. The ionization of the water vapors are refreshingly invigorating in the midst of an urban landscape. I found it very insightful that a hugely successful business like UPS could have begun at this Seattle location with a simple idea, "A fast reliable small parcel delivery service." ***ALSO, please someone correct the Google intro. comments. Its a monument to the people of UPS and not the USPS.

Just discovered this place, its beautiful and hidden near Pioneer Square. If I worked in this area I would eat my lunch here frequently. It smells a bit funky due to the water everywhere but is very beautiful year round. One of Seattles Diamonds in the Rough IMO. Its also worth noting that on site security was visible there so it seems like during business hours its a pretty safe place to be.

Such a hidden gem in the middle of the city. Its walled off so you cant even tell that its there unless you peer through the thick plants of the trellis. Oddly, its run by UPS... yes, the package delivery company. But that doesnt matter, because its a beautiful little park filled with waterfalls! If we had more time, its a place I wouldnt mind staying for half a day in quiet comtemplation.

It may be ok... if its open. Its not a public park but a site owned by a non-profit, so they close it and lock it up. Oddly enough, int the warm summer days, when its dark till 10pm, this park can close up and shut down the water falls, and lock the iron gates at 5pm. If you happen by during the day, ok, but dont plan on going there late in the evenings.

At this location in 1907, a young businessman borrowed $100 from a friend and started the American Messenger Company in Seattle, Washington. Today it is now called United Parcel Service (UPS). Now location hasa tiny waterfall park on the site of the company’s original location in Seattle remembering the shipping giant’s Original Starting location.

This place the epitome of a hidden gem. Even most that live in Seattle dont know about this place. Grab some lunch from one of the food trucks in Occidental Park, make the walk to this spot, and enjoy one of the most tranquil places in this chaotic city.

There is a security officer here and the transient mobs from Pioneer Square wont hassle you for money while you eat your lunch. It has a few trash cans and its a nice place to cool down in the summers. You wont find a better lunch spot in the area.

This is a nice little vacation from the surrounding historic district low-end-of-downtown buzz that permeates the area. Grab a bite to go from one of the nearby restaurants, take a seat, and just relax in an environment made for just that purpose.

A nice little getaway in the neighborhood where you can bring a book and chill out. In the summer there are a few too many tourists, and the chairs are not that comfortable, so bring a cushion if you plan to sit for more than an hour.

It may be tiny, it may be more garden than park but... Its still one of the more beautiful spots, in a city already greatly over endowed with beautiful spots, to pause and catch your breath... for a minute or an hour.

Amazing location a great *secret* place we went to get some sandwiches in Salumi close by and enjoyed eating them in this park, there are lots of small cute seating spaces and very quiet in the middle of seattle

Beautiful. Relaxing. Sound of flowing and falling water. Its easy to see from the street, because its right on the corner of the street, and has two entrances from each side of the street.

What a wonderful respite from the city! A pretty waterfall, lush vegetetation and bistro style chairs to sit and catch up with your day. It is not open all day long so dont miss it!

It is a wonderful oasis recognizing the history of a fabulous company and dedicated to UPS workers, not United States Postal workers, a UPS competitor, as your description suggests.

Peaceful and beautiful. There are little benches scattered amongst trees and flowers, and a wood deck area to stand on in front of the waterfall. Its such a hidden gem.

A good place to go to relax and listen to the nature in a big city and the mist off the waterfall feels good on a hot day and its never very busy great for romance

Beautiful park, however, Google incorrectly describes as "Monument to US Postal Workers" when in fact it was built to honor the employees of United Parcel Service.

This is an amazing little park. Go get lunch somewhere as take-out and bring it to this park to eat. It is refreshing and you will forget how you are to the city

This cool little hidden spot is the birthplace of UPS. Check it out and take a load off while you listen to the rushing water in a neo-industrial environment.

Nice little park. Probably a great place to stop and eat lunch if you are in the area. Its a little too small to be worth going too far out of your way for.

So secluded you could miss it, but a beautiful place to escape the city bustle for a nice view to have a snack or read or work on a project for school.

Nice place for a short break. Not worth a detour but still nice. Hours are limited, would be great if the park would at least be open till 6 pm.

Neat concept, best utilized as a lunch spot. Not a attraction that I would recommend going out of your way to see if you are visiting in town.

Great place, nice LITTLE park with water feature. Some tables and chairs. Very serene place to sit, but very close to the vibrant city.
