Found this place at a friends recommendation. Absolute treasure! Loved walking the trail and seeing fallen trees and stumps. The most naturally wild city park Ive ever seen. This tiny patch of land was left unharvested old growth to show what the land once looked like. This park is a secret garden in the midst of the city. Its on a need to know basis.

Starting from the whale tale park continue to stay right at all the junctions and youll get yourself a quick sweat with the uphill climb! I highly recommend this park for training if your a hiker and aspiring backpacker!

Easy walk but you can definitely work up a sweat at a good pace. Such solitude and peace so close to the city. Oldest growth around the area. Little streams bridges. Beautiful large trees and birdsong.

This preserve is unlike any other in the city. Its my sanctuary. I feel as if Im in the Cascades when I walk here. Its as close to wilderness as you will get in the city.
