Ive worked in the area around Westlake for nearly 5 years now and it has been fun to watch the progression of art & expression in the park. From painting the trees bright blue, to setting up lifesize metallic statues throughout the park there is usually something pleasing to observe. They also have a number of "back yard games" setup for the general public to use such as corn hole, a large chess board, Jenga, ping pong, foos ball, and shuffle board. Its also host to an iconic fountain which you can walk through via a short catwalk (youll get mildly splashed).

This is one of my favorite places downtown. In the summer you can play games borrowed from the games hut. There are weekly concerts, dance and performance events ALL FOR FREE! In the winter there are craft markets, a wonderful carousel, and hot fresh doughnuts around Christmas season. The best thing about this place is that people from all walks of life gather here and mingle. Youll see people in suits playing chess with backpackers, tech geeks chilling out with fashonistas on their coffee break - its all here. I think of it as Seattles living room.

A great place to play some enlarged Jenga or Chess. The city keeps this place very clean and decorates it with lights, art and fixtures according to the season. Check out the water fountain you can walk through, and keep an eye open for events that may be hosted here or some tasty food from the local food trucks. The seating is minimal, yet quirky, I find to be a good fit for the giant board games they feature and the place is never so busy that even during rush hour you can find a spot to sit and relax for a few.

While you wont find any grassy, open spaces in this park, this is a great little park to rest your feet and people watch while grabbing a bite from a food truck during the lunch hour. Seattles Parks and Recreations dept does a good job with most parks in terms of activities, and Westlake Park is no different, with table tennis, shuffle board, and other games ready to be borrowed for your time at the park. There is also a designated childrens play area with a jungle gym.

A delightful urban park with food trucks and games. Lots of restaurants nearby too. There was a giant chess board, large connect-four, large jenga, ping pong, foosball, corn hole, badminton (only 3 racquets, but a good-sized area), a small play area with a rope-climbing structure, and lots of seating. I imagine it could get pretty busy, but it wasnt too bad when I was there. Great place to bring kids, and well worth a visit if youre in from out-of-town.

Westlake Park is even now better after they added some things there such as games and a place to play for children. They also have ping pong tables and more seating throughout the park. Every now and then they have food trucks with cheap bites or you can always grab a hot dog at the stand thats open there everyday rain or shine. Love this park and dont forget to walk through the water fountain its great for a hot summer day

Its the beating heart of the emerald city. More of a city square than a park. Bustling with people year round. In the middle of walkable district that offers shopping, food, entertainment for all tastes ... at mid to higher end of the pricing spectrum. Also offers many modes of public transit. Monorail from 60s. Street cars, buses, light rail, lime bike rental, horse drawn carts, and even rickshaws ...

Westlake Park is truly a Seattle city common area. Its located in the downtown shopping district and plays host to a number of celebrations throughout the year. It is also the gathering point for numerous protests, and a place where people from all walks of life intermingle. While I wouldnt call the park "kid friendly" (even though there is a kid play area) it is definitely worth visiting.

Cement Park, with Food Trucks that pop up around lunchtime. Tables to sit and eat lunch as well as all kinds of games to play like Fussball, Cornhole, Jenga, Chess, etc. Theres a decent hotdog vendor there permanently, and some Bubble Tea. A jungle gym for kids. Some trees planted in the cement here and there. Lots of political rallies and small music performances happen here as well.

Westlake Park is an amazing centralized downtown location with easy access to shopping, multiple parking garages, and a great sense of community in a very Urban setting. Downtown open spaces can be very uncommon, but the park is situated in such a way as to accommodate public gatherings, ample seating, as well as annual events such as the Christmas tree lighting and holiday carousel

I catch the bus here when I get off work. I love how they decorate! Theres usually homeless people wandering around here.. But they mostly keep to there self.. One guy came up to me and I told him I didnt have any money but I have food he can have and he was very nice and grateful.. Even said we should go out for coffee sometime as I was getting on the bus lol

So many homeless people. To be fair, it was a very busy weekend in Seattle (Labor Day weekend with two big events going on) so there were probably more homeless folks than usual. A lot of them were loud and aggressive and some were selling what was probably stolen goods right in the plaza. Was looking for a place to rest for a moment and this was not it.

I never really shop here. I just ride the monorail over, get out here and then head out immediately for the shops nearby or down to the market. I have looked around at a few of the shops, browsed a bit. They have a fairly big food court for such a tiny mall. They have an interesting shop downstairs with local oddities.

This is a great park. Theres lots of seating. Theres a bus stop where several busses stop and a fountain that kids love to go through. Theres even a playground for kids, and games for then to play. I give this location 4 stars simply because a lot of homeless people sleep there and people always smoke pot there.

We love it here... Downtown Seattle can be sort of sketch. Theres chronics that was the streets yelling and cussing but the city is beautiful, lots of interesting nooks and crannies within the streets. Be prepared to pay for parking and your times are limited for the meters. Parking enforcement stays on their job.

This is an urban park; all concrete. But the plaza has trees and a working water fountain to freshen up the area. Benches to sit on and a bus stop right on the premises. Situated very close to food and drinks and good shopping. In recent years theyve added a childrens play area and an oversized chessboard.

The city has done an amazing job sprucing up this park! Its such a transformation compared to 3 years ago. Daily food trucks, weekly activities, and year round outdoor games and a play structure! Art installations! Its cleaned daily and actually is a nice place to spend your afternoon or evening now!

Always dirty, smells, and full of homeless people. Ive seen people shooting up several times. Lunch time week days are filled with food trucks and outdoor seating. Sometimes there is live music over lunch in the summer. I wish the city would clean this park up though as it could be nice.
