I live less than a block from this park and walk through it almost every day. Its the local spot for dog walks or lunch on one of the many picnic tables when the sun peeks out. The park is kept very clean which is something of a marvel given the high traffic rate. The true joy of this park, however, is its delightful history in Tacoma. Built at the turn of the century (the last one, that is!) and maintained with great care, its exploding with thousands of varieties of tree and bush. Dont forget to wander down to the pond to watch the water features and shoo away the numerous ducks. Up the hill, the conservatory is an even greater treasure. Free (with a suggested and well worth it donation) to the public, the conservatory is absolutely this hillside parks crowning glory and stuffed with beautiful flowers and plants. The park itself has a .9 mi loop where youre likely to find folks out walking their dogs, parents pushing strollers, joggers, and the occasional photographer. A true gem, Wright Park shouldnt be overlooked.

Love this park! Its beautiful, has a great area for kids to play including the spray park that runs during the summer months. There is often friendly police officers who come through to say hi to visitors of the park and talk to the kids. The trail that runs along the outside perimeter of the park is one mile around so that helps to keep track of your distance while walking. Dont forget to check out the dedicated section for lawn bowling, horseshoes, and basketball, as well as the botanical conservatory, which is quite a unique attraction that serves as an indoor environment hundreds of specialized plants. A must visit!!

Great little park with swings and a small spray pad. Trees surround the playground so there is plenty of shade in the afternoon sun. Restrooms are near the play structure and there are benches for sitting as well as eating. The ground material under swings is super soft and there are 3 baby swings. Near the playground is a pond with a bridge and plenty of places to walk. This park is located across the street from the hospital and has a reputation with the locals as not being the safest place to hang out after dark. There are no gates and the park is surrounded by busy streets, so keep the Littles close.

There is a little water play area during the day. We went here and I got in the water with my children and we all ended up getting a really itchy rash all over our bodies. My son had to go to the doctors to get a steroid cream. Our heads have a really bad rash as well that my kids just cant seem to stop scratching. The parking is a little scary since youre parking on the street. I saw a car get hit by a huge truck and the truck took off. The good thing is, there is enough swings for multiple children to play. They also sometimes host events at he his park on the weekends.

I have no complaints about this park. The walking paths are kept nice and have beautiful scenery. There are small bodies of water with ducks, fountains, and beautiful statues. The playground structure is huge and very fun for kids. The spray ground has a lot of water fixtures and is so much fun for my kids and myself. There is a basketball court and large trees to have picnics under. There is a building of restrooms that are usually kept clean. I just love this park. Would recommend to anybody!

I love going to Wrights Park in down town Tacoma, it is a very large park but there is so much to do there, you can walk around the entire park on a path, or you can sit in the sun by the pond and watch the ducks, you can take your kids there to play on the toys and in the water park, there are lots of tables for picnicking and you can also visit the green house that is open to the public for viewing amazing flowers and plants, it is a well kept park and very peaceful.

During the day, this is a great park to walk around. Theres the beautiful conservatory, a play area for children, and even a public restroom. Theres also a little pond with running water and some statues. The best thing though is all the trees are labeled, so you can learn about the them. Many people run or walk to the park, and there are some scattered picnic tables and benches. Its not really a safe place though, after dark ... same as most of Tacoma.

One of my favorite parks in the US. Not huge. Just big enough to take a decent walk, good place to take kids, and family, theres a splash park and decent jungle qym. For those who love trees, not only are there plenty, at the south end of the park there is an old growth tree garden. The Seymore Botanical Garden is on the rise of the park to the East. Check the Metro Parks of Tacoma Events board. Attend an event while enjoying the park.

Nice playground but a lot of homeless people. While I absolutely have no problem with homeless people, its hard to feel safe with kids when random people are asking for money and a man tried to give candy to one of my kids. That aside, the playground is nice and theres also a spray/water park. Theres also benches and tables throughout the park. You can also spot turtles and ducks in the pond.

This park has a lot of open green space, trails for running and walking, and various recreational activities, including basketball, lawn bowling, and a large playground with a seasonal splash park. All the trees in the park have plaques which describe the species, origin, and planting date. There is a large homeless population during the day and group travel is recommended after dark.

Huge, beautiful, well maintained park. It has a large, child friendly water feature and play structure. It even had a public greenhouse with a beautiful selection of plants and coy fish. And thats just from the little bit of the park that my family and I edited on a vacation up to Washington. This park is part of what makes us want to come back to Tacoma, it really is that nice.

Wright Park has gyms, poke stops and is well lit at night for all you poke vamps out there. For the normal people with relationships. *excluded :( Sigh! Only so far an Orc can go in human land, but enough about me. Trails upon running trails, restrooms and fields of green. Bring your lady or sir on down to Wright park. You wont regret it or you will. Dont judge me. :)

Great little park in the heart of the city. Lots of people jogging and exercising during the day with a splash pad for the kids on hot days. There can be people hanging around for long stretches or sleeping there overnight, but most seem harmless. Also has several Pokestops, so lots of Poke-hunters out and about. You can usually find a lure on the stops at the ponds.

Great place for photography, really pretty park, great place to take the family in the day. Do be aware of your kids though because of the mentally ill in the area. And there used to be a drug problem in the park, so keep that in the back of your head for later outings as well. I know there have been attempts to better the park as well.
