First, let me say, there is a lot for kids to do and my children have a great time when we come. The staff on the other hand is not as friendly. They come off very inconvenienced and bothered. My latest experience was me coming in with a group of 7 children and two adults (including myself) 5 minutes after they opened.The staff was very irritated by the number of children we had and that we didnt call ahead (Not that I knew to do such a thing!), irritated with the thought of more than one pay source (so we didnt bother) and immediately moved into correcting our group of kids for rules we had not yet had the chance to go over. Very disappointing since this is such a neat place.

This place is great- and also reasonable. Its big! It competes very well against the Baltimore kids museum- which is surprising considering how much smaller Winchester is. Importantly, there are lots of places for parents to relax and read while still watching your kids. Theres a real ambulance for kids to crawl all over, a fun "gerbil tunnel," life size triceratops, a mid-atlantic/appalachian indian replica lodge, couple of tanks of native fish, Potomac watershed maps, pulleys, and a ton of other stuff to engage the kids.

Great place for learning and fun! Spent about 2.5 hours here having a late start to the day. Parking lot has a 3 hour minimum which is probably enough time for most families. My girls are 4 and 2. Enjoyed the build your own roller coaster, Apple picking play area, water tables, magnets, and bowling on the roof top. Will return.

We recently attend their Friday Evening event for Special Needs Children. The staff were very accommodating. We received a Map of the Museum with special sensory areas denoted. The children had fun even my teens enjoyed the night with the Animal Services Group and activities. Thank you for offering this event!

What a fun place. It would seem that it is for younger children, so we took some visiting friends and their 7 year old. BUT... the grownups had just as much fun as the kids. There is a lot of learning to be had, and the presentations are well done. Lots of hands on stuff to do, and the staff is very friendly.

Great place for one visit if your children are young (under 10). Otherwise, dont waste your money. If they expanded the selection to engage preteens, teens, and adults it would be much better. My suggestion would be to visit the Museum of Science and Discovery in Buffalo, NY and create similar exhibits.

My four year old loves going to this museum. The level of interactivity is fantastic. The staff are friendly and the birthday party area is perfect. I have held a birthday party and attended one and both have been wonderful experiences.

They usually have more activities in the summertime but my 4 year old still LOVES it! Every activity is a learning experience without them even realizing it. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare at times.

Fun place for the children - kids had a blast . Having the climb through the digestive track obstacle , in the mouth then out the wazoo was a bit strange and good for a laugh.
