Golf experience: Average course with average lie. Aside from the Duck poop everywhere, flat course, obnoxious maintenance people cutting grass when you play, this facility offers enough and decent amenities to the average golfer. The putting and chipping practice area is nice. The people that come here to play are about 50% older people and 50% weed smoking, beer drinking, cussing people. So if you are a serious golfer, bring an iPod while you play and do not expect to be treated with the most respect or go somewhere else where they treat you with more respect and have the ethiquette of a real gentlemans sport, golf. Staff: A lot of the staff members are good, but they also hire a lot of college students who dont know how to treat a customer. But then this is a public course in a college town and Boulder is known for its crude, rude and spoiled kids. How would you like a female with attitude serving you and basically talk down on you? How about an old man who doesnt look like he likes working there and is unfriendly? Or a janitor who yells at you for picking up a practice ball 5 foot away in front of you when theres almost no one on the range thats next to you? All in all, the staff that has attitude outshines the decent staff that really helps you. Conclusion, if you want a respectful environment and people acting like ladies or gentleman and you care about manners, this is not the course for you. If you are just someone who plays and doesnt care or KNOW what manners are or just would like to come in and out because theres almost no other golf course in Boulder, this course is for you. Flatirons golf course is a cheap restaurant compared to a fine dining restaurant.

Had the guy who "runs the place" yell at me and my friend for playing off the back 9. Mind you, we were sent off the back by the proshop. He proceeded to throw a tantrum in the green side bunker on 12 and arbitrarily assigned the single behind him to join me and my buddy. For a grown man who supposedly runs the place to treat a paying customer like that was absolutely uncalled for and left me bitter. BUT the course is half decent, the staff is USUALLY decent and its reasonably priced. Four stars because a lot of people put a lot of effort into keeping that place afloat and the actions of one a**hole shouldnt take that away. But really though.....what a c***.

Flatirons was a second home to me for a significant part of the 2000s. Learned how to play, and then worked here for several years as well. The course is well maintained by Dave Brown and his crew, and Danny Knecht is a great head pro. Working with the small area they have, the tips were extended to nearly 7k yards which is impressive. Highly recommended course especially for the cost.

Played the back 9 on June 6, 2015. Excellent price, greens in excellent shape. Staff friendly and practice facilities very good. Only downsides were very wet due to lots of rain and not particularly interesting. Only challenges were the trees which encroached on some fairways. However, as a municipal course, one of the better ones. Strongly recommend.

Ecoscape Information

We held our first ever Ecoscape Open golf tourney at Flatirons Golf Course this past September and had a blast! We especially appreciated the patience of the staff, as our pace of play was a little slow at times. The tees & greens looked great, and they have done such a beautiful job with the flowers around the snack bar and golf shop!

Continually unimpressed by the staff they seem as if they dont want you to golf. Its an average public golf course. If you are in Boulder its worth making the drive to somewhere else like Coal Creek or Colorado National.

Greens and fairways in good condition. Pace of play was good considering the number of players. Staff was very good and marshall even found and returned a club I left behind. This course would be great for walking.

Not a bad course, except one of the staff (An older guy) was incredibly strange. He followed us around on his golf cart the entire 9 holes and kept making rude comments! Would have been fun otherwise.

Beautiful course and extremely flat. No hills or bunkers anywhere in sight. Reality easy course to play with long fairways and fast greens. Balls dont get lost as easily in the rough and outer edges.

The Paiks

Solid course reminiscent of the 70s. Fairly straightforward layout, lots of trees, and a good place to play if you can hit straight.

Nice municipal course with aging clubhouse. Course is flat with some obstacles but not a lot of creative or interesting challenges.

Nice putting/chipping practice area. Driving range is pretty good though the sun can be harsh. Resonable rates for 9 or 18.
