Dont plan a birthday party at the District location. I will begin by saying weve gone to this theater since it opened for our movie going. A tad over priced, but overall a good experience. This review is not in reference to those experiences because they, admittedly, have been good. This review is for anyone planning a birthday party. Earlier this week we called because our son wanted a party where we watched the latest movie out. When I called they pitched the Hollywood Party. When speaking with the individual we agreed on a time and a date. We agreed wed arrive 1:10 prior to the showing to ensure there was enough time to complete the party portion prior to the show. When we arrived the section for the party was set aside as discussed, small movie specific signs guiding us to our spot were up. Good so far. However, once we get fifteen kids there we waited for 30 minutes and two requests for help to have a "Event Host or Hostess" to begin to help us. Im not one to wait so we began the event ourselves because the clock was counting down to show time. Once our attendant did show up they were helpful, but certainly not what Id expect of a "host." They got us our kiddie combos, candy, and cups for drinks. Ten minutes before show time as we saw that she wasnt taking control we moved the kiddos to the auditorium. As the movie began I sought our a manager. I explained to him, Ashton, my frustration and my belief that if you want to call it an event vs simply a venue, you need to make it that, an event. He stated he was sorry for the perception and he stated that hed be at the ready after the movie to discuss. The movie began, with no "Birthday Greeting and Song in the Auditorium" to make my son feel special or to complete the event experience. Guess who wasnt there after the show? Ashton. In the end, the kids didnt notice much other than slightly stressed out parents. In my opinion the reason you pay the premium fee is for A) the special experience and B) the frustration free process. Otherwise, Id just buy movie tickets and "kiddie combos" and call it good (about $5~$6 less per kid). In this case I believe it was less than what I expected. In the end, I would suggest to anyone considering the overpriced birthday packages, to set clear expectations of the staff and lower you expectations to that of a venue instead of a hosted event. Because the definition of a host, a person who receives or entertains other people as guests, does not apply here. Or better yet, take your kids to Chucky, Airborne, or anywhere that is accustomed to making a childs birthday an experience vs just providing a backdrop.

Our family used to go to Megaplex 20 in South Jordan almost every week from the time it opened in 2006 until about one year ago. Ever since Larry Miller passed away, the cleanliness has suffered, the movie prices increased, they stopped using real butter on the popcorn and the online booking fees increased 33%. The seats and the floors dont get cleaned as often, the auditoriums have started to stink, and the restrooms no longer meet Larrys standards. The Miller family either dont share the same LHM values and quality expectations as Larry or management doesnt care since Larry isnt around to demand the quality. We have started to go to the competitions new place in Draper. I worked directly for Larry and then the heir to the throne. I know that GM cares only about the money, not the quality of services or employee satisfaction. It is showing in this theater for sure. Amazing how fast something can change when the founder passes on. We miss you Larry. I must say that the people that take the tickets are awesome. I really missed the gentleman was there from the opening.

We just sat in a movie theater for half an hour waiting for Newsies (A special one time showing) to start. They came in and told us it wasnt working and we could go see it at another theater if we would like and have us comp tickets. What these people didnt understand is that all theaters had this movie playing at the exact same time on the same day and their half hour of messing around cost us seeing the movie!!!!!! Its not like this was a movie we could see in an hour at another theater. Nope, this was a one time thing!!! Instead of trying to actually make it right and make sure we all got to see this movie at a later date they just sent us on our way with a comp ticket. When we asked if they knew this wasnt working before now they had NOTHING to say!!!!!!! I cannot believe this happened!! My son was so excited to see this and had been dressed like a Newsie all day in anticipation to see it. Not only did they make it so we couldnt see it, they took away any chance of seeing it again!! We will never return to this poorly run theater!!!!!!!

I go to this megaplex a lot mainly because of its proximity. Its a very family friendly movie theater which is always a plus. I love how they are now doing all day matinee pricing on Tuesdays!! The theater itself is very well maintained. The floors are clean and (very importantly) not sticky!! They have a large number of screenings so there is good chance that you will find something you will want to see at good time. They have stadium seating so you have to worry about Mr. gargantuan and Mrs. Beehive hair to block your view. You will also be able to choose your seat at time of purchase, which has become the norm nowadays. The food is ALWAYS overpriced, it doesnt matter where you go, every movie theater jack up their prices. That is just how they make their money. So I usually steer clear of the food court. Tip of the day, have a meal before you go so your not craving any over priced popcorn and drink.

They got some awesome vip sections with lazyboy style chairs for more $. Looked pretty cool and very spacious, though didnt leave much leg room for regular seats, which is where I sat(ah ha! Good sales tactics.. pack regular seats in like sardines, so you WANT to buy vip). If I were to make a suggestion of making what letter rows more visible, if you go in a few min late its really hard to find your seats, unless you are a regular and know the layout and set up. Stood awkwardly by some people waiting for a scene with more light so I can hurry and find the letter of my row. Would be impossible if it was an elderly person to locate for sure. But then again I came late as a last second decision. Maybe reflective tape in the shape of the letter on the first chair of the row? Or dim light on floor of whatever letter? Nothing like feeling dumb searching the ground, trying not to disturb others for your seat.

Horrible theater! Being new to the area, I was excited to find a movie theater close to my area. Parking is a headache and I figured, its the day after Christmas so I was expecting it to be a little hectic. As I approach the theater, I go straight to the box office and bypass the kiosks where you have the option to purchase tickets because I am a student and I have a student ID. They dont honor discounts for students. I find that to be really odd. The entity offers several restaurants where you may purchase refreshments. They also have a small arcade, but no change machine that changes bills to quarters. That doesnt make sense. The customer service rep at the box office was rude and when telling her our issue, she said that wasnt her problem. Larry H. Miller needs to upgrade their processes. Its terrible here. Terrible experience and terrible customer service. I dont recommend anyone to go there.
