My wife and I have been to this "experience" several times. We have participated in missions for birthday parties, corporate training, and double dates. Pros: Full immersion into a futuristic universe: From the moment you walk through the space centers doors, you are a member of Colonial Command (akin to Star Treks Starfleet). When I have attended with adults they were impressed with the amount of depth put into the simulators to help you feel as though you are in this universe. When I went with my nephews birthday party it was fun to watch their 11 year old eyes light up with wonder once they felt they were in this other world. [[Note: I see they have recently moved, and hope they still have this instant immersion at their new facility]] Friendly and imaginative staff: Im such a frequent flier here (because I love it so much) that Ive actually flown the same mission a few times, but it is never boring! The staff is so creative, and each mission has a personality of its own. They have been kind, and helpful with any issues that may arise. Instruction videos that are entertaining: I especially love the videos the space center puts out. Quality material that helps with their immersion process. Where do they get those videos?! Obviously they have a great set to work with, and their staff that puts them together does a great job! Big value: I mean this in two different ways. The bang you get for your buck is quite and impressive one. Also, each mission will make you consider your ethics and values. In missions Ive participated in with both adults and children, there has always been a discussion about right and wrong once we come out of the space center. Such a fantastic introspective learning opportunity. Cons: Position management: There have been times where we have a group of ten or so people, and after the mission two or three of those people say "I dont feel like I did anything" or "I kept scanning for stuff and the computer would just scan and scan forever." I have found the ideal crew for any ship is whatever the minimum suggestion is on their website. Training is sometimes too long: Missions are offered in 2 hours, 4 hours, or longer duration. About 30 minutes (or one time it took 45 minutes) of that is spent on training us on our positions. If I only have 2 hours to have fun, it doesnt feel great when I spend a quarter of that time training. [[Our most recent mission only took us 20 minutes before we were flying through the galaxy. Much improved.]] All in all, we will 100% be going back! We love this place! It has a special place in our hearts. Many of our friends that we have brought have plans to go back as well! We love the space center!

Dont get me wrong. I love the Space Center. Just not the one located in Canyon Grove Academy. If you want to go to the Space Center, do not go to this one!!! My experience here was terrible. First, there was not an adult in sight; the entire simulation was completely run by teenagers who seemed to know little about what they were doing. The ship resembled an empty closet more than anything else. I was assigned the Engineering position, and I ended up sitting and doing nothing for the entire two hours. I could tell that my computer came from the original Space Center, because all of the instructions given to me on my computer to "fix" things did not correspond with any of the computers functions or the functions of any of the "machinery" on the particular ship I was on. I asked several of the teen employees to help me but none of them could answer my questions; they had no idea what to do about it. I ended up hitting random buttons, and things would get fixed only when it was conducive to the plot. The entire experience was a complete waste of time and money.

This was not a dynamicly flowing adventure, but more of a pre destined course of actions, no matter our responses. I had fun, not sure I would ever go a second time. Mission felt clunky and the terminals were buggy. We spent most of our time repairing broken ship parts, the majority of which entailed relaying steps we had no way of accomplishing to the staff over the ships computer. The computer then completed these steps for us. Comtrols for moving the ship didnt actually work, staff controlled that. Fighting enemy ships never resulted in damage done or destroying them because there was a planned outcome to each battle. Music way too loud, couldnt hear each other. Had a few epic choice of songs, though. Room was well Sahara hot with no air flow. Staff were super awesome, this has potential. Maybe my experience was due to it being their first run through of Pathfinder.

I just barely went on a 12-hour mission down at the Discovery Space Center, and I absolutely loved it!!! I was the captain, and I can tell you the care which they took in teaching each crew member what to do was amazing. We actually finished the 12-hour mission before our time was up; so, they added on another mission and tied it in to the story. They made sure everyone was comfortable with what was going to happen, and did an amazing job acting. The fact that the solutions to a problem could be as simple as doing nothing or as complex as assembling a nuclear warhead kept us on our toes. They tailored the mission to our age, and made it challenging while still maintaining all the elements of fun. It honestly felt as if we were in a movie. They are amazing story-tellers as well as innovators. We will definitely be going down again very soon!

I have been on five private missions and one camp, and all but one of my experiences have been above and beyond the best experiences of my life. The only one that wasnt quite as awesome was toned down for the young people in our group, and I felt like there wasnt much tension (which I like). The staff is fantastic at really immersing you in the mission, and everything is tailored to fit your needs. Nothing feels contrived, although Murphys law definitely applies (always expect the worst). Bonus for me: It totally feeds my sci-fi obsession in every way. If you love science fiction, you will love the DSC. I have used Star Wars quotes on every mission, and they apply so perfectly its miraculous.

It is so intense and realistic. You travel forward in time couple hundred of years. Y8u have a mission. Ours today was to go acr8ss forbiden areas that could start another war because it was agenst the peace treaty. They Broke it first Because we made it part Of the treaty that we and they had to realease all prisoners . We did they kept 50 of our most needed people we were told to go across the boarders and bring them back safely. Their are so many fun positions like commander ,first offecer , sensors, security, communications, ambassador and etc,. I highly recommend it.

I LOVE the space center!!!! I went once and couldnt stop going back! Not only is the staff fantastic and hilarious, but the in-depth experience of it all is great! Private missions are catered to what you ask for and the age group thats going. And of course they are very entertaining. But the best part of Discovery Space Center is the camps they do. They have camps for all different ages, and all the ones I have been on were so much fun! I would highly recommend coming!
