Tried this place out twice in one week so I could give an accurate review. The ribs and brisket are really good, not worth a 55 minute wait though. Not a fan of the jalepeno cheese sausage (tastes store bought). The regular sausage is good. I feel they lack on the sides offered with the meals as well, but really enjoyed the potato salad (ordered it twice). I also didnt have a chance to try the chocolates so they could be amazing for all I know. First time I went about 3pm and walked right in without a wait and got my food 5 minutes after order. The 2nd time we arrived at 10.50am and waited until 11am before they opened the doors. We were about #15 in line. It took us about 45 minutes to even place an order. I felt this was waaaay to long. There was only one register to take order but two girls assisting each person with their order and at one point a manager even looking over their shoulder, so like 3 people working on one order instead of 3 people working on 3 orders. Id recommend getting at least two registers to speed up the process and perhaps relocating the chocolate part of the restaurant to a different place where people can order when they exit rather than in line with all the food orders. (Seems difficult though with the limited space they have). One thing I absolutely didnt like was the $10 baked potato. The regular baked potato with chives, bacon, and sour cream was pretty small and cost $10!!!! Id recommend lowering the price to something a little more reasonable. Go to Spring Creek BBQ and the regular baked potato with bacon is $6.25 and you cant eat it all its so big. The baked potato with chopped beef is only $9.25 and again is yuuuuge at Spring Creek. Overall it was decent. I heard the pastrami stuff was amazing and maybe thats where this place gets the 5 stars. I feel like this place is capable of greatness but that involves getting the customer service down better and lowering the prices. 1lb of brisket is $21. A half pound is $11. I asked for a pound (half moist and half lean) and the lady said it would be $1 extra for that?!? Why? bc your machine cant annotate half moist/ half lean? Rather than fix their point of sale system they pass the extra $1 to the customer that is already paying on average $5 more per pound of meat than any other BBQ joint around. Also, need to speed up the ordering process. (A side note to that. I think the owner was walking around handing out menus to people in line and checking up on them when they left, so that was a nice touch).

Fantastic Texas BBQ and impeccably executed side dishes in Old Town Tomball. Not to mention bean-to-bar handcrafted chocolates! On the BBQ side, you cant go wrong with any of their meats: brisket, burnt ends, big beef plate ribs, pork spareribs, smoked pork belly, turkey, or pulled pork. Their homemade pinto beans, cornbread pudding, and carrot souffle are all delicious sides. Their signature sandwiches are not to be missed: The Brisket & Blues features sliced (or chopped) brisket, blue cheese, red onion, and sliced grape tomatoes, and the Bird & Bacon sandwich inclues smoked turkey, bacon, fresh avocado slices, topped with a fried egg. Follow Tejas on social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) to get the latest information on upcoming specials, which vary from day to day.

We had the brisket, pork belly, shredded pork, ribs. They ran out of the beef ribs which I was really looking forward to. It was all tender and juicy with good flavor---love love love the coarse ground black pepper rub---it was excellent. The only thing that caught my attention was the smoke was very, very light (almost not detectable), we like more but thats a personal thing. I run blue smoke but when our que hits the kitchen the whole house smells of smoked meat. Was it worth the 1 1/2 hour wait (Saturday, one register and the line barely moved)? Our group will probably think before doing it again; but good food, good atmosphere. The free beer and sausage samples let the crowd know that they werent forgotten--nice touch.

Ive been coming to this awesome establishment almost since they opened their doors at least once a week. Not only is the chocolate and the BBQ amazing but the owners are some of the best personable people you will find! Must haves are the BBQ, just get anything, its good! The BBQ sides are a bit more flavorful than you will find athe a mundane purveyor of smoked meaty deliciousness. You can not go wrong with the loaded or stacked pintos and the carrot souffle will most likely be the death of me! Price points are about what should be expected for quality craft bbq. Only prime brisket is used and they are starting to get heritage pork products. Scoot on in and help support the small local business, you wont be disappointed!

Wow ....after reading an article about this place I had to try it out, reading the article made me want to try a little bit of everything , so I ordered a quarter pound of brisket, half pound of ribs and a Quarter Pound of jalapeno cheese sausage,,,,,,, after eating my meal I totally understand why they are rated one of the top 10 BBQ places in the Houston area,,,,,, the only reason Im giving them 4 stars and not 5 is because of the fact that they do not offer single meat , double meat or triple meat combination plates..... other than that, the food , service and hospitality are top notch.... I will definitely be back

Just found this amazing place last week! There is a reason this place is crowded at lunch; its the best brisket youve ever tasted! You dont get a generic bun for your sliced or chopped beef sandwich either. Theres nothing better than eating excellent brisket on a delicious bun. If you have room in your belly try their carrot soufflé or chocolate truffles. If youre not a fan of dark chocolate try the Martha Washington truffle. Unfortunately the peanut butter chocolate truffle was already sold out. The restaurant is decorated nicely and you can even sit outside if you choose to.

Mom and pop bbq joint with a funky/vintage feel. The food here is out of this world good. I dont even need bbq sauce when I come bc the meats have such a great flavor but they do have a great mole sauce that is a wonderful change from the usual sauce you get at places. They have a great array of sides including a one of a kind carrot soufflé and cornbread casserole. After you finish your meal make your way over to their homemade chocolate section. Omgosh! Mind blowing chocolates with unique flavors. I recommend the good life chocolate truffle for sure.

Brisket is good. Sausage was very pedestrian, finely ground stuff from the supermarket. Main problem is the ridiculous wait. Totally not worth it. Plus, the wait was unnecessary. I understand long lines, but why does the line crawl so slowly? Is slicing smoked meat that difficult and painstaking? There are a half dozen Houston area BBQ places with comparable food and little/no wait (Corkscrew, for example). I think Tejas is guilty of self-flattery by emulating the Franklins experience. (Oh, sorry, its a *craftory*). Get over yourselves, guys.
