I found Sugar Clay off Google and was immediately drawn to it for its ambiance. I called 3 weeks before my event and asked if I could have my 30th Birthday at their Winery to which they agreed. The owners are THE nicest and most thoughtful. Because I had such a large group coming, they waved the rental fee and just charged us per plate. They agreed to make a plate of food per person but that it would be easier to expedite the time dinner was served if we all ate the same meal, which was no big deal for me. We choose steak and twice baked potatoes and asparagus. IT WAS Phenomenal!! Seasoned well and great portions. The only thing I want to add, it is not a complaint but rather positive feedback that they may be able to work on. My friend Amber wanted her steak well done. like burnt. No joke. she likes it to look like charcoal, why? I have no idea, it ruins a perfectly good piece of steak to me but when she got her steak it was just well done. She didnt say anything to them as she didnt want to hurt their feelings and I know if she had, they would have made it right but my encouragement to the owners is to maybe make sure youre perfectly clear on what people order or how they want something made. They also allowed us to paint a wine glass if we so wished. It was $10.00 extra but well worth the memory to me. The Wine is the most tasteful, delicious wine I have ever had in my life. I bought two bottles and am waiting to drink them but I keep daydreaming about drinking them but would hate to run out because then, I will want more and they are over an hour drive from me. haha Lets get to the ambiance....they had a fire lit for us outside and with twinkling lights strung all across the woods and deck, it truly made the night magical. It was THE most enchanting night of my life. To end the review, I appreciate the time and preparation it took them to accommodate me and my friends. I know they stayed up well past 10 PM to clean up our mess and I just want to say, Thank you guys!!!!!

Ive been to Sugar Clay many times, including attending my daughters wedding and reception there. I love this vineyard and I love their wine. I am always telling people about it and recommending that they go there to experience its beautiful and spacious tasting room and outdoor seating. The staff are warm, friendly and fun. Overall, the food I have eaten there was good. The appetizer selection prepared for my daughters wedding was perfect. My only complaint is that I wish it was located closer to me to allow me to enjoy going there more frequently.

I was vacationing in Nebraska and my daughter-in-law surprised me by taking me on a wine tour. Sugar Clay Winery and Vineyards was our last stop and our most enjoyable! While I do not like pictures of myself, without a person in the pic, you cannot get a clear perspective of how beautiful and vast the winery is. There were a variety of wines to sample that helped guide your purchase. I would have purchased the honey mead wine to make the sample lemonade mix if they had provided the recipe.

My FAVORITE winery! Great place to relax out on the deck with a bottle of wine an a meat & cheese tray OR bring your office for a work outing. We had a large meeting in Omaha with people from across the country. We rented a bus and drove to Sugar Clay for an evening outing. It was AMAZING! I worked with Amy on our budget and who was approved for catering options. We ended up having a great time! Good food, Great wine and an awesome location! What more can you ask for?

We went here on a wine day trip. Weve been to many wineries in the eastern part of Nebraska and Sugar Clay was the one that turned my fiancé from a beer drinker to a wine fanatic. It is a quaint but fun atmosphere. Lots of room, a outside deck area, and a fun rustic type feel. We cannot wait to go back!! The edelweiss and the blush are phenomenal. Whether you are a seasoned wine drinker, or just getting a taste for it thee place to be!!! We loved our experience!

Sugar Clay Winery & Vineyards is such a great venue, nestled in the trees & hills in Fremont County. You get to experience the friendly atmosphere of the owners and their passion for their business. Whether you are there for wine tasting, Sangria Sunday or another event Frank & Amy welcome you. They provide many opportunities to sit back sip the wine & relax & enjoy the surroundings. Sugar Clay is one of my favorite places to visit.

What a beautiful location with a relaxing atmosphere. A short drive from the metro, this is the ideal spot to get away for a few hours. The wine selections are perfect and with tastings at only $3, I could have definitely spent an entire day there! We enjoyed a meat and cheese tray that was perfect for two people. Light and tasty, it was the perfect balance for the couple glasses of wine we each had. We will definitely be back soon!

We really enjoy visiting this winery. I love that it is kind of secluded and there is a wonderful view from the deck. The Sangria Sundays are alot of fun as well. A glass of seasonal sangria and chips and salsa for $5 is a real bargain. The owners are very friendly and we have developed our favorite wines as well. We like to visit here for wine and then travel on to Waubaunsie Park for a picnic. A great fall outing.

This place is a "must see" if you like cool wineries. The owners have excellent taste in music and so you can sit back in a beautiful setting, enjoy a delicious glass of homemade wine or crafted beer and listen to great live music on their stage among the pines. Frank and Amy will treat you like family and the food is amazing too, so go hungry! Amys homemade salsa is perfect (Sangria Sundays)! I wish we lived closer!!

I went to the winery as a surprise road trip to for wine tastings for my birthday a few months ago. It was a a snowy day and the scenery surrounding the winery was absolutely beautiful! There was no one there but the owners did not hesitate to open up and welcome us in. Hospitality was top notch! Havent had a chance to go back but Im looking forward to going back!

Walking up the path to it, anticipated having a great and experience and I wasnt disappointed! the inside is fun, the hosts are amazing and if you want to wander around outside on a nice afternoon its gorgeous. A short but beautiful drive from the metro! Particularly if you take the Loess Hills Scenic Byway drive, Then when you get there the most beautifully situated winery in the area offers great wines and wonderful events every weekend in the summer.. One of the most idyllic experiences you can imagine. And very romantic!
