Unique playground features! Like a trampoline slide, a large disc swing, etc. The cart of books to read is a cool touch. It really needs parking nearby though. And the spray Park was shut down for a private event..? That was a huge let down. Nice large trees and shade though. Bathrooms are large and a good location. The sand box is huge and the kids loved the water feature of it. Just lots of hiking with a bunch of little kids across busy downtown streets from the parking garage by the convention center that I had to pay $10 for was extremely frustrating. I really hope part of all the nearby construction is at least partly planned for a parking lot!

Theres no greater education than personal experience; the travel sees what he sees, the tourist sees what he has come to see. Although the park area makes for running around and fun and games, especially for the children, historical landmarks located throughout the park make an even more interesting sight. Not to mention, The Tower of the Americas located on one end make for a fun but nerve racking ascending then decending 600 plus feet high elevator ride with a spectacular 360 view of the entire city once youve reached the very top. Great times!

I have lived in san antonio all my life and i love this park it was a place my family would go and enjoy the day i miss the old playground but this newly remodled play area is just awesome and beautiful there is plenty for the kids to enjoy including chess, big checker board, ping pong tables, big connect four game, and even a water feature the kids can play in they are still working on the rest of the area and im sure when they are done it will be the pride of downtown san antonio if you are a visitor this is definitely one place you should visit

This is really an awesome park in the heart of downtown near the Tower of the Americas and located right behind the convention center. Lots of stuff for kids to do - a splash pond or fountain - not sure what you call it, but it is one of those that doesnt really hold water, but they have fountains going off at various intervals that you can step on or stand over and get wet. They also have a bunch of things to climb on. Decent shade provided by older oak trees in the summer time.

Amazing spot for kids of all ages...Large playground with equipment for toddlers to teens, game area with table tennis, chess, and fussball, a giant sand play area, and a "water park" with fountains the kids can run thru and play in. There are even change rooms, and the restrooms (including a family restroom) were clean and had step stools for toddlers to reach the sinks. Located right behind the Convention Center, accessible from street and Riverwalk, right near Rivercenter.

Renovations have been awesome. I love hanging out with my tribe here. Fun and free. There are a lot of activities for the kids, plenty of swings, crushed rubber so its safe for small children. The ice cream man stops through. And there is a wet play area that the kids love!! Bring an extra set of clothes just in case you decide to let the kiddos get wet. Its in the middle of everything in Downtown San Antonio so if you have time, you can really enjoy your day here.

This was a very beautiful place. It is a relaxing environment with a minimal crowd and even a Paletas vendor. There were activities for people to partake in like communal chess boards, hulahoops for children, and a fun park that was handicap accessible and open to people of all ages. The splash pad was exciting which the children go to fully enjoy themselves. It was wonderful to see people getting on well with each other even if they hadnt previously met.

I hadnt been to the Hemisfair park in many years, and with all the construction lately, hadnt seen any of the recent improvements made in the last 10 years or more. Its a nice place for an evening walk, and I was glad to see the area surrounding the Tower of the Americas was a very scenic and modern. It has some nice walkways from the parking area to the tower, with historical markers, cascading waterfalls, benches, and nice tree cover.

Mixed feelings!! Nice park & playground renovations, but, come on .. those classic wooden kids play castles removed ( !! ). What were they thinking .. Oh, THEY WERENT THINKING !! Now its common, generic, regular, ho-hum, same-old - same-old, no imagination, old hat, bo-oring play ground equipment. REMEMBER, the Alamo city is unique & romantic & historic & supposed to progress when building by connecting to its roots. LEADERSHIP FAILURE!

The new playground has plenty of things to climb on and the sand and water area is great for smaller children. They have outdoor changing rooms if you want to put a swimsuit on your kid before letting them in the water/sand or need to change their clothes after. Theres a family bathroom, a changing table in the regular bathroom, and a pull out stool at the sink for short people. The downsides are: not enough swings, no slides.

Hemisphere park is undergoing major renovations and upgrades. I cant wait until they are done, this will definitely be great for the area and people. Downtown is missing comfy green space and I think this will take care of that. They already have a great kids Park with climbing areas and a sand pit with water for the kids to make badass castles :). There are plenty events and even movies on the grass which is a blast.

This is a beautiful park, located right next to the Tower of Americas. There is a playground for children, as well as interactive stations fun for all ages. The atmosphere here is absolutely beautiful. My only complaint is that the water is very smelly. I think they dont use chemicals to keep it more natural, but the smell is awful in some spots. Besides that, this park is a must see for tourist, as well as San Antonians.

Was recently visiting for the Ingress Anomaly Obsidian, and was amazed by this park. Its a place where anyone can come gather, whether you are single, a couple, a family, or group. There are large chess and checker boards, there is a grassy field for picnicking, water jets you can play in, and a huge jungle gym for the kids. Even after dark, the Parks activity doesnt decrease until closing.

Its a really nice place I did prefer the playground before it. The new one is still fun they have a sand area, a little water area, giant chess and checker, a rope climbing building, cool sitting area, and the restroom are clean and way better than before it doesnt smell like pee anymore, there are people selling some chips and water and stuff, theres also a really nice walking path.
