The park is infested with thieves. The City of San Antonio takes alot of pride in attracting the tourist, and yet, does nothing to deter the population of homeless thieves in Milam Park and under the 35 Under pass. They are like roaches all the way to the McDonalds on Houston street near the Motel 6. It is horrible. The Market Square shops are continuously robbed. The homeless male/female duos work in pairs. The male will ask to see an item up high on the wall, and while the shop attendant (elderly shop keepers as well) are busy, the woman walks in and takes the purse that is under the desk near the cash register. Those homeless individuals live that way because they choose to. They steal. They lie. They cheat. They are drug addicts, alcoholics, felons, prostitutes, and have no morals or care about anything, except how to scam an innocent tourist. The Market Square (new building with the food court) is the one that deals with this "infestation" on a daily basis and its shop keepers suffer because of the lack of city interest to clean up the area. The New Market Square has security at the doors, but all they do is "protect the property". In other words, dealing with bums defecating in the building, on the sidewalks, etc. Their are other blue uniformed security guards walking around in the morning, but beware, the hour between five p.m. and six p.m. is when those homeless trolls start snatching purses. There are so many of them, it would take a more than a dozen police officers to clear the area. The park reeks of urine, the tables are populated by the homeless in the late afternoon up until eleven p.m. at night. City of San Antonio Mayor needs to clean this area up. Those so called "needy homeless" need to stay within a certain area at the Haven for Hope. They should be BANNED from the Market Square area, Milam Park, Pico de Gallo, Golden Star, Via Station, McDonalds, the whole perimeter squared. I would not let my children anywhere near any of these places, because of all the sex offenders existing in this vagabond population.

I thought that this looked like a nice park, so I decided to sit there for lunch. My company consisted of hoodlums, thugs, and cigarette smoke. What got me to leave finally was when a shouting match and fist fight broke out. Other than the unsavory characters that spend all day there, the park is OK. It has shade, tables, and benches. However, grass has long since been overrun by weeds. There is a nice little playground in this park, but I would never bring a child here.

Was a very nice park with even a wedding about to start in the Gazebo. Plenty of tables, shade, and a playground for kids. Only downside is you may feel uncomfortable with some of the homeless that walk around, which is countered only a little by the police presence. The park could use a little remodeling, but is okay for the most-part.

Looked good with lots of people and kids playing everywhere then we noticed the homeless man laying in the grass masturbating. Park policeman sitting in his car 75 yards away did nothing about it after we informed him of the situation. Giving this 5 stars for the story telling material.

I love all these city parks just feel unsafe with the police staring waiting as if im gonna do something wrong. Maybe if the police were more approachable. Not acting like prison gaurds I might believe that they are here to protect and serve. Not to charge and judge.

Nice little mini park in downtown but like any park in downtown its full of homeless people. Every time Im here past dark there is always a patrol car parked here, but still a great view of city lights at night and can be a relaxing place to hang out.
