Usually I am one to praise Alamo Drafthouse for their business model. The fact that you can go to a theater and know that there will be no talking no cell phones and 18 and up patrons brings comfort when you want to see a movie without children or distractions from people on cell phones. Now I respect and appreciate that parents want to see movies too and they should be able to. But the Drafthouse has always seemed to be different in the cases of the previous stated policies. So while I applaud the Drafthouse for creating an Alamo for all policy, I was disappointed to see the lack of transparency on it at the theater and also not being reflected online. Todays instance was seeing the movie It which is rated R for violence, gore, language, and being over all of scary movie. So why a theater that is known for the previous policies would make this movie and Alamo for all movie, really doesnt make sense. My other issue is that I go to the Drafthouse and arrive 30 minutes prior in order to see special Pre movie content that I cant find anywhere else. Sometimes the stuff is wacky sometimes its freaky but its always relevant to what Im about to see. In this case today, none of that happened because again this was an Alamo for all screening. So it now seems that if I want to see a movie at the Drafthouse I now have to wait until the afternoon in order to see the content and have the normal policies be enforced. That severely disappoints me because again the lack of transparency in this policy and the movies being displayed as such is what frustrates me. Online through websites like Fandango and appropriate apps the AFA or Alamo for all policy was not indicated for the screening of It. When we bought our tickets there was no indication of the AFA policy, but we noticed that afterwards the AFA was now tagged on the movie board whereas before we saw the movie all movie times for together with no distinction between any such film. That is the reason I gave three stars versus what I usually would give as five. The other reason for the lower star rating is the server who was by herself which I can appreciate, did take a while to deliver our checks and then even longer to return them to us. They were not returned until the credits begin to roll and people had left the theater, which as a result, a person left their credit card on the receipt at their chair. Now I noticed this and brought it to the manager on our way out after several minutes of sitting and noticing that no one came back. Hopefully the card will be returned without issue has the person should hopefully miss their card and then go back to the theater to grab it. This is longer than my usual reviews but I wanted to be thorough in my explanation as to why I gave the rating that I did today. Hopefully the next time I come back whenever that happens to be the policies will be more clearly noted and indicated on the films.

First time here and last time here. Tonight i went to see a movie that had a 89 minute run time. First off my waitress was super nice so i have nothing bad to say about her. I ordered my food right at the start of the movie but another waitress came to pick up my order that was helping out our main waitress. Me and her confirmed exactly what i wanted to eat. The party i was with all received their food order within 15 minutes after the movie started.(the cooks great job). When the movie was about to end everyone started getting the checks to pay, so at this point i realized the movie was about end. So I spoke to our head waitress about my food order, she was extremely professional and apologetic. She went to get the manager, and she(manager) looked me with the "oh well tuff $#it" attitude, she told me that the assistant waitress (who also had a horrible attitude) said I had told her to forget about my order, which was completely false, my party of 8 even said thats not what i said. I believe the assistant was just trying to cover her tracks of horrible service A.K.A. a liar. She flat out lied about what i said to her. As i tried to reason with the manager, she was unjust and had a carelessness attitude or just a pure lack of empathy. She then handed me a $12 off coupon, similar to what you find littered all over the Las Vegas Strip floor". I went there to eat, and not be treated like just another statistic of poor management skills. So when i realized this, I told myself at least maybe she would give me a free movie ticket just to try to get at least something out of it for the inconvenience and when I asked her, her response was " sorry im all out, im sorry theres nothing i can do for you besides give you this $12 dollar certificate for your next visit, it should cover some of the food you ordered". Its not about the money its the principle. So as we spoke a bit more andni realized the conversation was going nowhere i just bit my tounge and laughed on the inside and told her what a great job shes doing here. What I really wanted to say was, something not even worth mentioning. Everyone else was great and extremly nice. I have been to four Alamo Draft Houses and have always chosen them as my cinema. Avoid this particular location. I dont ever take handouts and I was not upset about not getting my food, i just want to educate anyone who reads this that the manager has no social skills and lacks management experience. Hopefully she learns....Thanks for your time.

Considering the love I have for the Westlakes location, Id hoped that the Park North location - that I currently live closer to - would offer the same great experience that its predecessor had offered. I sincerely hope that the past 8-10 experiences Ive had with Park North have dont betray the kind of service other patrons might receive because if thats the case, I dont know how they keep the dining portion of their establishment open. I chalked up the earlier waiting foibles to freshman wait staff but a few years later, there just isnt an excuse for most what goes on here. A short list includes: wait staff who dont wait on you if you show up right at start time. I can kinda understand this but if this is a policy - "dont expect to be waited on if you show up at a time when we arent prepared to wait on you" - then they need to make it official. I can deal with that; I dont mind taking that money I wouldve given them to the nearby Lion & Rose. Also, unless you show up on opening night for a movie, dont expect the theatre to have a full wait staff on duty/wait staff who arent too busy talking to each other. It shouldnt take 30 minutes to get our drinks; it was a beer and a bottle of wine guys, cmon. My final objection is again directed at the wait staff of Park North who dont even try to make themselves discreet during a film like their Westlakes brethren. I can understand when a movie is loud that you might need to up your voice to a regular octave but you dont need to have a non-loud whisper conversation with another customer about the merits of the onscreen action when that movie is a rom com. Ultimately, the wait staff need reinforcements and/or need to get it together as theyre really the only thing keeping this Drafthouse location from being great. Like: -Alamo Drafthouse-iness of the establishment; fun events and screenings etc. -Keeping in line with Drafthouse policies regarding jerkstores who like to use their cell phones during movies. Dislike: -Wait staff need a refresher course. -They need more waitstaff per theatre.
