EDIT: I sent a copy of this review to Cinemark, and was promptly contacted with information about how the situation was handled. I was even offered free movie passes for my trouble! Gold star for Cinemark as a whole - my rating of this particular establishment will remain until I get another chance to attend this theater. Before I begin complaining, let me be clear: I fully understand that I get what I pay for, and as far as facilities are concerned this theater is just that - acceptable and an unbeatable price. But I have minimum standards for customer service. I dont care how much Im paying, my movie should be watch-able and the employees should be AT LEAST as courteous as I am to them. This review is mostly just to let people know to not bother dealing with this man if you can help it - if something similar happens to you, dont waste your time. Just ask for your money back and be on your way... So yesterday my boyfriend and I came to this theater to see Wreck it Ralph. We were told that the time we asked for was 3D and we accepted paying a little extra - the tickets are so cheap, why not? But when we got in the theater the 3D glasses werent working on the previews. We waited a little bit - maybe they switch the film out or something? We were the only ones in the theater so we wanted to be sure something was wrong before we complained. Once we were sure, we went and asked the man (Im assuming he was the manager due to his sense of entitlement and that be was wearing a business suit at the concessions counter). We explained our experience and he radiod to someone to fix it. But when we got back to the theater, nothing had changed. We waited a little longer (maybe theyre busier than they look in the middle of the day on a Wednesday), but as the movie started we noticed that the same problem was happening. Yknow how when something is in 3D and you dont have glasses, and the picture is fuzzy or blurry? This was happening, but was not fixed by the glasses. It was hurting my head to try and resolve some of the images. We went back out to let the manager know we were still having trouble. Instead of checking that his employee fixed the problem, he explained that the movie was now going to be in 2D, that it was not supposed to be in 3D and that I didnt need the glasses to watch it. Although irritated at being talked to like a child, I tried to explain that if the movie was in 2D we wouldnt have been bothered, it was the fact that the movie WE were paying to see was somewhere in-between. He would not listen, and seems to be the type of person inclined to yell even friendly statements. He insisted upon having the ticket stubs that he himself gave us not 10 minutes earlier to give me a refund, which is still pending on my bank account (I dont care that it was under $10, I will be returning if the refund doesnt clear). I hesitate to complain and claim that "the customer is always right", but the LEAST he could do is come see for himself what Im trying to explain instead of arguing with me. Its a common courtesy. I dont pretend to know how movie projection works, but I know what it looks like when its done correctly. We left and checked out the nearby shopping center instead. I cant say for sure that well never return to this theater - Im a sucker for money-saving, and the popcorn is just as good as any other Cinnemark. But I wont soon forget the ignorance of that man, and I sincerely hope someone else came late and complained to him, because it infuriates me to think that he STILL thinks I just didnt understand.

4/07/2017 My wife’s and my experience today at the Cinemark Dollar Movies 16 today. We have been to this theater many times before and have enjoyed “our small treat to ourselves”….until today. While watching Fist Fight my wife went to the restroom. Just after my wife entered the ladies room, two men who worked at the theater went in after her. They told my wife “we have a situation”. My wife told the two men that she was a woman, they did not listen and proceeded to escorts her out of the ladies room. After my wife repeated herself a few more times, the two employees realized that she was a woman and said “sorry”. My wife returned to the movie very upset and hurt. After telling me what happened, I became very upset and left the movie to find a manager. I located Patrica Stanley, the general manager, and began explaining what happened. While explaining what happened, I had to ask if she was even listening. Patrica very rudely stated yes, without any sympathy, empathy, or remorse. At the end of our conversation my wife and I felt as if the general manager was perfectly fine with the way my wife had been treated and discriminated against. It is 2017, same sex marriage is legal, for a company to employ general managers that discriminate is appalling. Being in a dollar movie one would expect a lesser quality in the the physical quality of the building but not in the customer service. My family, friends, and coworkers will not return to this or any of your other locations.

Went there last night and saw 2 movies. The first was an excellent experience. Loved the film and the theatre itself. The second one was in 3D (theatre 13). The first seats we picked had broken seat bottoms so we moved up a row. Those seats were also very uncomfortable. Not sure if it is because they were old and worn out or if it was US who was old and worn out! Cant really expect much from a 2nd run discount theatre though, so its fine. The employees at this theatre are fantastic, though. I cant say enough good things about the manager and one specific employee named Matthew. They are both the "above and beyond" type! Overall, the whole place was clean and pleasant. Ive been to other discount theatres in other cities that were run down and gross, so this place was a breath of fresh air. Clean restrooms (with all amenities working properly). Clean carpets. Clean lobby. Clean cut employees wearing crisp uniforms, even. A young child of about 4 spilled her popcorn in the lobby while we were waiting between movies. The employees were cleaning it up almost immediately AND brought her a new popcorn! Unheard of in todays world... Kudos, guys!

Not a bad place. The tickets are cheap, and for only $2.98 (thats after tax), I was able to get the 5:50 showing of Fate of the Furious. However, the screen was blank during the commercials; I had to notify the employees several times before they actually turned the picture on. When I want something done, I want it done now; not five minutes before the movie starts. Nevertheless, it was taken care of, and I was able to enjoy the movie. (Hence only four stars instead of five.) Their concessions were overpriced, so I didnt get any. However, I would like to thank the staff for recognizing water as a universal human right. (I dehydrate too quickly.) The games were fun while waiting, and I even got some recognition for my drawings. (I am an artist as well as a CSR.) I may return here soon to catch another movie, when I am on a budget, and/or if I was unable to see a movie that I wanted to see.
