On October 30, I had a flood requiring all my carpet be removed and replaced. I contacted Glass Aquatics and within minutes we had a plan to break down my 125 gallon tank, move the tank to the garage, board the fish until the carpeting and repairs could be completed. The tank was rebuilt, the fish brought back and it all went without a hitch. Until, the next day, I noticed the stand started to fail due to the water damage. I drove over to the store, talked with Vanessa and Mike and again the wheels quickly went into motion. We selected a new stand, they came out, broke the tank down again, moved out the bad stand, installed the new stand, rebuilt the tank and it all looks great. Within 6 hours of walking in the store, I was back up and running. They took great care and caution with my new carpeting, the fish and me. Vanessa, Mike and Juergen went way above and beyond, in fact Juergen worked on his day off to get me back up. I highly recommend Glass Aquatics. They care and understand how to run a professional customer service oriented business.

I have been very pleased with all my purchases from Glass Aquatics. Their prices are fair and service has been exemplary. This is what I expect of any business that I walk into... However, the best thing I can say about the people in this store is their willingness to spend time with the customer- getting to know/understand their skill level and likes/dislikes. I have watched them on many of my visits take whatever amount of time that is required to help educate people that may be diving into (no pun intended) the hobby for the first time. They are very accommodating to the hobbyist- from providing expert advice on products and livestock to assisting with re homing the of pets that one might not be able to sufficiently care for any longer. They do carry a limited range of products rather than every brand as they prefer to sell what they are familiar with and can stand behind. It is clear that they are lifetime hobbyists that have ventured into the business with an understanding of how to make every customer successful.

While good customer service can be available, not all employees are pleasant nor have the knowledge to illicit advice. If you do not know what type of fish you are selling then perhaps you should not work in this field, or own an establishment selling aquarium fish. Which brings me to my main issue with the store and that is the blanket label of "assorted cichlids", on virtually every tank. This would be acceptable if they were not asking you to pay F0, or wild caught, prices for these fish - regardless of the size. Just because you have a bigger mutt doesnt make it more valuable in retail terms. Overpriced is an understatement, and to be treated like I am the incompetent one for even asking why a certain fish is so high is just absurd. Someone working there should be able to tell me what kind of mbuna, hap or peacock if they are selling this fish, especially if they want a ridiculous amount of money for this allleged cichlid. I dont think it is a lot to expect. This is not an isolated incident.

At first, I had absolutely no idea that this store actually had live stock in it. I was under the impression that it only sold glass aquariums and aquarium products. Upon entering you notice a very inviting back room which has many tanks stocked full of fresh and salt water fish. It is very obvious that the live stock in this store are very well taken care of. I was helped by Vanessa, and it was a complete pleasure. She was extremely knowledgeable about everything that was in the store, and I mean EVERYTHING. She was very informative and helpful and steered me in the right direction on how to convert my freshwater tank into a saltwater tank. One thing I found interesting about the store is that they have a pre-owned equipment area where you can buy items that are in excellent condition for a cheaper price. This is something I have never seen before in a fish store. Over-all I couldnt of asked for a better experience. This store will be the only store I go to for any fish related needs.

I will NEVER buy anything for my aquarium anywhere other than Glass Aquatics! These are some of the nicest people you will every meet. Jeremiah has answered every question and helped with every detail every step of the way. I bought some fish from a large pet chain store (not one that specializes in only fish), and it seems as though I purchased an infected set that wiped out 90% of my habitat. Glass Aquatics acted quickly to try and save the remaining few, they have talked to me daily to help get my tank back in order, they have been very understanding and helpful through the stress of the process, and they will be who I use to restock. Any issues with my fish that happened on their watch, they quickly did their best to make right. They even are holding fish for me that are like the ones we lost, until our tank is ready. We will NEVER purchase anything for our aquarium anywhere else.

This is the best place to go in DFW for your fresh water or salt water aquarium needs! I dropped by there this past weekend with an emergency situation that had to be addressed or I was going to lose all of my fish. Vanessa was so knowledgeable and frinedly and even stayed late to help us out. I had way too many fish and I was told by other "experts" that it was fine to have as many fish as I did in our aquarium. She let me know exactly what I needed to do to get my aquarium balanced and took in some of our fish and actually gave us a store credit for doing so. After following her advise our aquarium looks crystal clear and our fish our doing great. Once you go here you wont want to bother with any of those other fish elitists who make you feel stupid if you dont know exactly what you are doing. We will never go to any other place when it comes to taking care of our fish!

On Tuesday night just before 11p I noticed water leaking from my 80 gallon tank. I immediately got towels and buckets as my aquarium and base are on hardwood floors. I began to panic and reached out to Vanessa the owner of Glass Aquatics to see if I could possibly get on their schedule the following day or instructions to stop the leak. What happened next surprised me... Vanessa called me back and stated she was in her way (we are about 30 miles away). She and her young daughter were at my front door 45 minutes later. She saved all of my fish, drained my aquarium and took care of the leak. Most importantly, my hardwood floors came out with no damage!!! Glass Aquatics has serviced my aquarium and supplied my fish for 6 years. Ive always found them to be knowledgeable and helpful, but this was amazing! I highly recommend them!

Good selection and service. However, I special ordered 3 clown loaches from them and 1 died 2 days later. I pulled out the dead fish and looked at it, and it had some internal problems (red discoloration internally, guessing injured in shipment). I have a community tank, so it was not attacked. Called them up expecting that they would replace the fish, and was told there are no exchanges or refunds. Other 2 fish are doing great.....but I got burned with a $20 damaged fish. Be careful buying anything too expensive. Update, I believe I know why the 1 clown loach died. My entire tank is now infected with ick. The worse infection is with my favorite silver dollar (9 years old). I have been treating my tank, all of the fish are infected pretty bad. Really hoping I dont lose any fish. This experience has been terrible.
