I drove out to Houston from San Antonio this past weekend with some friends, to meet up with a friend I know here from school. He told me about this place, and raved about how great it was (Ive been through a lot of what he says is "great" and found it awful...). When we got there I was surprised that there wasnt muddy parking spots, and I really liked the actors walking around the people. I was expecting the ticket price to be really steep like some other places Ive been were, BUT only 20 bucks for all 3 haunted houses was cool! The Castle of Doom wasnt what I was expecting. It wasnt a castle setting like Dracula, but it was still really good. I didnt jump a lot, but my friend ran into a glass wall in this one area, and that was even better for me. The Sanitarium was good, it didnt have the electronic stuff like the horn, or the bathroom that shot water at us, but the actors were good. My only problem was the entire thing was white wall with red hand prints, which isnt bad...but it could have had more decoration or like actual room design. And last we went to the chainsaw one. I think its called the Texas Chainsaw Maze. It was cool, but the carpeting made me trip and stumble a few steps once. The actors really seemed to like what they were doing, yelling at us to sing, and chasing my friend out of the maze at the end with a chainsaw and stopping just at the cars. This place is really cool, doesnt go and buy alot of robots and animations that arent really scary, and had some really good actors, and the way the haunted houses were set up made it feel like we were walking forever and in circles. The staff was really nice, and I liked seeing the ticket seller girls, and the snack place people dressing up too. If I can save the money for next year, Ill be back again and hopefully more times after that.

Paid waay to much for something so bad. Where to start... First, they advertised to have restrooms with air conditioning. They only had disgusting Porto potties. They also advertised to have a club blood where you can dance and have adult drinks. They had no club blood and the only type of adult beverages were two choices of crappy beers. They also advertised to have 10 attractions and according to them the city closed one of them. They also advertised for live entertainment and what I witnessed was absolute stupidity of people that I am sure they found on the street. Not only did this "side show act" continue with the same act for the whole night, one of the grown men onstage was wearing a dress with no underwear. I could care less of what this idiot wanted to show, I could simply look away in disgust, which I did. But there were children at this establishment which I found to be very inappropriate for an all ages event. And if you waited in line for a haunted maze then I am sure you are able to hear some fabulous stories of two grown men talking about how they were going to F-up someone or slash someones tires. These men worked there and were more into their adolescent talk than working the lines. Honestly I felt as though I paid to enter into an establishment organized by either teenagers or people off the street, I saw no professionalism at this so called festival, I will never go back.

To the girl who said that HHH is a rip-off.. I just wanna say, like your response said there was a TON of stuff going on there, most of it free. I mean, a live band, people hanging from hooks, 3 haunted houses, a girl stapling dollars to herself at a booth, car giveaway. All kinds of stuff, too much to precisely list, and most was FREE. Weird thing is though, even for someone who didnt enjoy themselves there your review is COMPLETELY bare of any kind of specifics. Even with ALL that stuff going on, your review and what you didnt like were EXTREMELY vague. Its sort of like what somebody would write if they WERENT THERE at all. Its almost like something that say, a COMPETING haunted house would write. Hey, I could be wrong. Still though, I think you must be referring to those OTHER haunted houses. You know, those ones who use almost nothing but animatronics and charge three to four times as much to look at them. Sorry that the mean old men robbed you of 20 BUCKS to see ALL 3 separate professional haunted houses, hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of professional stage shows, live music, booths, and prize winnings put into one night. I think most people know if they want to pay out there nose to see rejected Disney hall of presidents" robots painted like zombies they should go to those OTHER haunted houses. If you want to see experienced professional, LIVE actors, you should go to HHH.

Houston Haunted Houses by far the best for you money I mean they have the free Texas chainsaw massacre maze, along with the Sanitarium and the Castle of doom and the free freak show and concert and even a aggro suspension act.I dont know about anyone else but when I see the word free in todays economy Im definately gonna go.Not only do they have the best haunted houses I have ever been to but they have real actors in there so you never no whats gonna happen next unlike other places you go to an they have machines scaring you and you always seem to know in a place with machines whats gonna happend next.I would recommend Houston Haunted houses to anyone who wants to have a good time and enjoy the halloween spirit and take the whole family for that matter and not have to spend so much money. They have police on site makes you feel good knowing that there wont be any problems. And the parking you dont have to trample thru mud and grass these folks have nice lit parking and gravel drive and they even have air conditioned restrooms as well. I will definatley be going back here in years to come

Within the first 5 minutes my daughter couldnt handle it. Sure right its supposed to be scary... I get it.. Its supposed to be scary but it was bad enough that I knew nothing would fly but some additional mental scarring and that was out of the question. I walked to the counter and had no sympathy. No refunds. Honestly it was cold hearted. It would have been no big deal to give us our money back as we had been in there for less than 10 minutes. I asked for a rain check then so I could come back another time. Nope sorry I was told. So even worse right.. Again 10 minutes and they couldnt let me come back another time to get my moneys worth with my other kids who would be able to handle it. We go back in and were flat out scammed by a carnie game. Another 60 in the hole. So thats 70 up front for two tickets and 60 on a scam carnie game. Yea no thanks. If you have any slice of class youd be best to steer clear of these con artists. So go to this place if you are a sucker like me... Learned yet another lesson about how horrible people can be when money is involved. NEVER GOING BACK.
