BEWARE THE FOOD! My boyfriend and I attend Valleyfair last Sunday (July 2nd) and bought two of their all day dining passes. While they did tell us that the passes are only good for participating locations, what they failed to tell us is that your food selection at each location is severely limited. They also forgot to mention that the food is of poor quality. For example, think of freezer burnt fries hidden behind a mound of salt for flavor. For a better explanation, my first meal was at Sidewinder Burrito where I purchased the Chicken Quesadilla platter. The Chicken was slimy, the rice was extremely dry, and the beans were cold. There was no flavor. They did a wonderful job of grossing me out until the 90 minute window was up so I could try again with a different meal. Next I tried out Northwoods Grill, where I stood in line for thirty minutes, finally ordered my food, which then took another 30 minutes because they had forgotten about my order. Then they served me lukewarm fries covered in a massive amount of salt which tasted of cardboard, and a raw burger. Thats right, A RAW BURGER! They once again effectively grossed me out. This time to the point where I did not trust them to serve me anything edible throughout the entire park. Now, Ive sent an email to the park explaining my complaints but have yet to hear back. Do yourselves a favor and skip the food there. Pack yourselves a cooler full of homemade food and simply tailgate. Its cheaper, healthier, and you most likely wont end up thoroughly disappointed or sick. Or simply stick to a liquid diet throughout the day, like I did. Trust me, youll be 30 dollars richer per person and much happier. Plus this leaves you with more time to enjoy the rides, which is the main reason we go! **UPDATE** Still no response from CS and its now been over a week. Clearly they do not care to rectify their mistakes.

In my opinion Valleyfair has gone down hill from just a few years ago. We went for my fiances birthday and had fun because we havent had a lot of time for some fun lately. We thought valleyfair would be great for a day away. We started the day out by going on the mad mouse ride. When I sat down the lady slammed my lap bar so hard and fast that it felt like someone had punched me right in the gut. It actually hurt. My fiance was really surprised and also was thrown off by her roughness. She looked at me like it was my fault and mumbled something in a different language. Ugh!!! After the gut punch we decided to get a drink at one of the drink stations. So many bees everywhere on the fountain. Seriously bees crawling in and out of the fountains where the soda comes out. As much money as Valleyfair brings in you would think they would have something in place for that. Maybe bee repellent or traps or have someone constantly cleaning the machines. Something anything to reduce the dangerous bee stings. The food isnt good. Way over priced for the quality of the food. We proceed to the water park and needed a locker to put our stuff in. You may need to take out a small loan to do so. 15.00 to rent a locker that only fits 1 backpack. Besides not being able to ride the Renegade due to some maintenance issues. The ride selection is good and are always a thrill. The midway games are always fun. We won a big donkey kong at the ring toss. My favorite game. The new dinosaur exhibit was fun and impressive. I dont think it should cost extra but worth it if you have the extra cash and time. If you have time you should check out the All Wheels Extreme show. That was impressive, fun and free. We really enjoyed the music and entertainment.

First off they have a VERY misleading advertisement. If you purchase the "Fright Lane with the Skeleton Key" it will say the Park ticket is included. It is not! My girlfriend and her family had purchases the Fright Lane, which said ticket was included for $91.89 for two people. We drove over an hour to get there and when we came into the office to redeem our somewhat recent purchase they gave us just our Keys and fright lane passes. They then asked when we wanted to purchase our park tickets and we told them we already did with the F.L. passes. They told us that was just to cut in lines faster and go to a separate room. So they had us buy 2 more tickets for $84 just to get into the park. We were very upset about that because MANY other families did the same as us and agreed that they never saw a print reading that tickets were not included. We the went into our first haunted house. Since we went with the fast pass we thought we could zip up to the attraction faster than the regular line. Little did we know that since we had a skeleton key and had to go to a separate room that had to be re-set up for every group that we would be waiting over an hour!!! We then got pissed enough to ask an employee who said we were waiting for the skeleton key room but we said we just wanted to go through the maze faster and we paid extra. They then rushed us to the front with anothers 30-40 people that were also pissed. After that maze we then were going to the front of the lines because others didnt know because the employees did not explain anything to anyone. The over all experience was not pleasant. We couldnt even ride rides because we had to wait in line for over 1.5 hours for a 1 min experience. The park is open only 6 hours at night.

Overall a very nice theme park. Not as big as some of the Six Flags or other Cedar Fair parks, but still a good time. The price is a little bit high, but there are plenty of options for you to save money. There are places you can buy discounted tickets, and there is a season pass if you plan on going several times. Also, there are dining passes. One of them you can get added to your season pass that lets you eat twice for free every time you visit. There are also wrist bands you can buy that let you eat for free every 90 minutes. The rides are pretty fun. There are a couple good coasters - Wild Thing, Renegade and Steel Venom are the best. There are also a couple good thrill rides like Xtreme Swing and Power Tower. The only complaint I have is they really havent put in a new thrill ride (roller coaster) in a while....seems like they are due for a good steel coaster pretty soon! They also have a decent sized water park, with some older body slides, family raft ride, rapids, and a lazy river. Recently they added a wave pool and some new speed slides. The lines can get long, but if you go during the week they arent bad at all. I went on a Thursday last year and was able to get on the Wild Thing within 5 minutes. If you go on a Saturday, you might be waiting 20-30 minutes. They do offer fast lane passes, though, if you are willing to pay a little extra! Ive never had any issues with the staff - theyve always been helpful and courteous. The food is delicious - there is plenty of variety. They even have a subway! However, its expensive (as can be expected at a theme park). I recommend one of the dining passes or bringing your own food and eating in the parking lot.
