The worst management ever. Here is our conversation. This is between me and Ross the boss. Hello Ross, My name is Jessica and I am currently here at your establishment and I am extremely angry as I live in Omaha, NE and prior to me arriving I called 2 times. First time to ask about general pricing info. The second time specifically to inquire about the weather. When I was in Madison IA I noticed the weather was changing is why I called Adventureland. I wanted to ensure that the weather was good n stable so that my kids could enjoy the entire park without worries, hesitations, or saftey concerns I get here and see lighting almost touching the ride that goes straight up in the air. The one you can see from the interstate. To my dismay it is not Sunny and humid and from the appearance doesnt seem to have been all day. It is now pouring rain and not only have I wasted gas but now broken my childrens spirits and on my way back home for nothing. That is not ethical by any standard and for the young man to say there is nothing he can do but apologize is substandard and extremely insulting. I have a copy of the 2 videos I took. One of the exhange with employee. He wasnt rude he was just young like 16 and I need an adult to handle this matter. The other is of me leaving and the weathrr condition now. Thank you for taking your time in review and consideration of this matter. Jessica Thank you for taking the time to send me your concerns. Adventureland’s website, as well our Daily Adventures (Park Maps) contains text: ‘Rainy days are part of spring and summer, so we usually play in the rain.’ While we will always be truthful if someone should call us about the weather, the very simple fact is that the weather changes and no one, myself included, can predict the weather. There were times throughout the afternoon in which the weather was sunny, and times in which it was cloudy. However, we have had no significant rain accumulation at all and the park has been at full capacity (with the exception of two rides shutting down for less than 10 minutes). In the event of severe weather the park will remain open, although some rides may need to temporarily close out of safety concerns. I regret to inform you there is nothing I can do in this situation. Adventureland has at it’s disposal the same radar technology and weather forecasting as the general public. In the two and a half hours from your drive to Omaha, the weather went from presumably sunny (as reported by an Adventureland representative) to overcast. I can understand your hesitance in entering the park, but I cannot offer you compensation as a result of you having made an autonomous decision to drive from Omaha and changed your mind to come to the park after the weather changed. I get weather can change that isnt the dispute but when I physically call and was advised completely false information in efforts to make corporate gains is where the accountability lies. I do work for who on behalf allowed me to make this venture. Not only will I contact my attorney. I will also leave negative reviews and notify my employer which can thrn notify othrr companies and then I will be glad to submit my experience to the local news channels as well as GMA. Too big of a corporation to be so unethical. I appreciate not having this matter resolved appropriately. Is there a legal dept my representing law firm can contact? At the moment you become litigious is when I am no longer willing to carry on this conversation. Sincerely, Ross Schoofs I understand but you jusr advised there is no resolution and I need resolution. If you can provide an appropriate resolve there will be no litigation to be concerned with. Please advise. No response since July 13, 2017 from Ross Schoofs. I now believe it goes beyond customer dissatisfaction at this point.

My husband and I had our wedding at Adventureland inside the Palace Theater and it was EVERYTHING that we dreamed of, plus more. We are completely taken back by the space that we were able to use, the staff that helped us throughout our wedding day, and our event coordinator, Paige Crow. The space inside the Palace Theater was incredible--very elegant and the perfect space for both our ceremony and reception. One of the things that I loved most about using this space is that the room can fit so many people that our ceremony was set up on one side, we divided the room with pipe and drape, and then reception was set up on the other side. As people entered for the ceremony, they couldnt see the reception side because of the pipe and drape so when it came time for the reception, the space was still a surprise for all. The staff members were great at Adventureland as well. From the bartenders, to the wait staff, to those helping get our cake ready for our guests, to the gentleman that drove the shuttle for us, we appreciate all of the hard work. Everyone remained professional throughout the whole event. Paige Crow, our event coordinator--- AWESOME WORK!! We were so blessed to have her help us throughout our special day. Paige made sure that we were pleased with how everything looked, helped to ensure that we had access to the building when we needed it, was flexible when we needed to meet with her, plus so much more. Our day ended up being so smooth because of all of the hard work that Paige helped us with. Food--- our food was great as well! The staff members did a great job getting the appetizers ready when they needed to be served and then when it came time for dinner, everything was ready to go! We received a lot of compliments on the food. Everything was perfect! Another little perk that Adventureland made possible was keeping up the carousel for us to take pictures on. Typically by this time of the year, the rides have been taken care of for the winter months. One of the requests that I had was to see if we could keep the carousel up for our wedding. Adventureland did go above and beyond and kept the carousel up for us so that we could get pictures on it. Adventureland, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. You all helped to make our day/weekend so special and it wouldnt have been possible without all of you! We would highly recommend this space for a wedding!

For being just about the only place in Iowa with roller coasters, water rides, etc., Adventureland does the job just fine. The buildings are in a kind of worn state, but their functionality is still there. The ride operators tend to be older, retired people who try to give the guests a good time. The guests are another story. You might find that, on a busy day, the lines tend to drag forever. Know this: Population increases line size, but customer stupidity increases the wait. For instance... At the Pizza stand: A typical customer order consists of, "Id like a personal pan pizza and a pop." There are several types and sizes of both. Upon request for clarification, the customer takes a good few minutes to ponder the specifics, fish out their bills, realize they dont have the money, and yell over to Grandma to find Susan, because she has all of the cash. At the Sub stand: "Id like a sub." When asked to fill out the order sheet placed outside of the window for quicker order completion, the customer responds with complete bewilderment and shock. "How do I do this?" is a common question. There are toppings with boxes next to them. Obvious to some, baffling to others. At the Shooting Star: A "No single riders" sign is displayed in red capital letters. A child sits alone in the chair, and when the parent is asked to seat them with another person, the answer is, "But little Johnny wants to sit alone!" or "He doesnt have a partner!" I wonder-- does Johnny want a concussion from slamming his head on the side of the ride from sliding too much? Common sense and the ability to read are flushed from a persons mind once they enter through the front gates. The instances go on, but the principle is simple. If the customer is prepared to at least try to use their brain, things go much smoother. My recommendation to all possible attendees: Please come knowing that if your day is hard, it is only hard because you make it that way. Read the signs. Use your head. Even better, tell your friends-- spread it around. Your day at Adventureland Park will be amazing.
