READ BEFORE VISITING EMERALD BOWL: Summer is among us, so we brought the kids to Emerald Bowl after purchasing a groupon. Upon arriving, we were met by the stench of urine and booze in the parking lot. The kids were excited to bowl, however, so we decided to go inside. I presented my groupon to the cashier, Ariel . Ariel said the groupon was only good until 3pm, even though the groupon clearly said it was good until 8pm. She looked over the groupon, walked away, came back and said "Well, I dont know how to put a groupon in the cashier". Confused, I asked her if a different staff member could ring me up. She said "no". Ariel proceeded to offer me the privilege of paying full price for my children to bowl (on top of my already-purchased groupon) - I graciously declined. Ariel then stated that in order for me to use my groupon she would have to CALL her manager. I said "ok". After blankly staring at me for a minute, she literally turned around to the man behind her, whispered something to him, faced me and then proceeded to ring up my groupon WITH NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER. Perplexed on how shed overcome her plethora of casheiring obstacles, I asked her how she was able to use my groupon. She ignored me. For the sake of our evening, we made our way to our lane. We finally got our lane up and going, so I walked back to the check-in booth and spoke with the actual manager, Mark. This is what I learned: 1. Ariel is the owners daughter. 2. My groupon was valid the entire time, but Ariel does not like processing groupons because they cut into family profits. 3. Even if I reported her lies, nothing would result from it We literally traveled from Memorial to freaking ALIEF to go to this place. Never again. Emerald Bowling practices BAIT AND SWITCH tactics - who has time for that? Not this family. Save yourself and your family the headache and bowl elsewhere.

I purchased a Groupon to use at this location. I have the Groupon app for the iPhone so I did not bring a printed version of it. It was refused by the management. When I asked for a reason, I was told that the rule was in place so the Groupon cannot be used more than once. This is the worst reason I have ever heard, because my iPhone app shows the UNIQUE code each Groupon is assigned. If they kept a record of this code (and the printed version just shows that same code), then of course no one else can use it. Doesnt take a genius to figure out. EVERY other business on Groupon has allowed me to use the Groupon directly from my iPhone. Heck, thats why this app even exists! I will definitely be calling Groupon as well as the owners of Emerald Bowl to complain because this is just plain stupid. The management was rude throughout the whole process. He was obviously having a bad day and taking it out on the customers. He was curt to me and not in the least bit accommodating. I had a laptop in my car, which I could use in conjunction with their wifi service to print out the Groupon if he would just allow me to connect it to his printer. But he flat out refused and didnt give any valid reason. He just did not want to be of any help. There was only an hour and half left before closing time and he obviously knew we wouldnt have enough time to find a place to print out the Groupon. In addition, Id lose my place in line, and wed already waited over 30 minutes. This place is lucky that its so crowded already, because with customer service like this, theyd have a hard time getting new customers.

I would love to give this rating more than two stars but honestly I cant. I attended this facility for my niece birthday party (6 yrs old btw). Upon entering I wasnt impressed for this being my first visit. The bowling itself was great and my niece had a wonderful time! My real issue was the FOOD! I couldve bowled all night but who wants to play and be hungry, right! We ordered two of the "Team Platters" and was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. The wings looked old like "lamp light" old. The cheese sticks, jalapeno poppers and chicken steak tenders were fried to the extreme (too hard) that you could easily cut up the roof of your mouth. The only tasty thing about that platter was the fries and tater tots. Maybe I was just hungry. My point is.....If you want me to spend money on bowling then please have better quality food. My family loves to eat in the midst of entertainment, therefore, we dont mind spending our money but give us something worth buying. So my two stars are for the game itself and for the fries & tots. Yall need new cooks who care and the inside could use a little sprucing up! MY OPINION BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE.

I dont understand why an employee would refuse customers to pay them money to use their lines thats what happened to me and my kids today and todays ago as well the lady with the long brown hair just out right refused us to be able to bowl if you hate your job that much out get a new one

Clean, smoke free, and net bowling. If you are looking for a place with fancy decorations and additional activities such as Main Event in Katy, this is not it. But if you want to enjoy bowling with the kids and are looking for a place that wont break the bank - this is a great spot.

Great staff and very clean. I went this past weekend and had a great time. The bowling alley is an older one, but it is kept up quite nice and was very clean. We had a mechanical problem with one of our lanes and they fixed it quickly and added 25 minutes to our bowling time.

Great place! Experienced no problems here. Nice staff. Nice customers. We had a Groupon and we definitely got our moneys worth! Not impressed with the food BUT its a bowling alley. They arent known for their fine cuisine. The bathroom was clean. Cant wait to bowl again!

If this place were in a better location, it would be great. There are way too many ghetto people here with their loud and uncontrollable children. The business itself is nice, the staff were polite and prompt. I feel bad what they have to put up with every day though.

Was freezing inside. Bring a jacket and wear jeans. Wasnt enough sitting area for family & friends. The bathroom was kinda gross. No changing table for babies. Had to change my daughter on the floor the first time because she pooped but then again in the car.

Great place for spending quality time with the family.....not to crowded with an olskool vibe and very inexpensive for a family of four....I purchased the "Family-Pack" for this summer and will be returning and above all...MY KIDS LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!.......

Its simple and just for bowling. Great thing is they have a Groupon discount, so the more the merrier.. though if you smoke e-cigs or vapors its not allowed in there. A sides that, its a really great bowling spot to kick back with friends and family

Loved it. For the price it was so worth it. The food wasnt the best, but what can you expect from a bowling alley? If you are looking for something fancy, I dont suggest this place, but if you are looking for fun, I totally do.
