A quaint Granbury vineyard with a few solid wines does not make up for the unfriendliness of the staff. There are other places to go for moderate wine, but at least poured by someone who can smile. The woman in charge of tastings at a wedding reception I attended quite possibly had the worst attitude I have ever encountered in Texas, not to mention was entirely put off that she had to actually answer questions about the wine... Of the 75 people at this reception, nearly 1/3 of them left with a story about being treated indifferently, poorly, and worse by this woman - who should have stayed at home if she didnt want to work that day. The bride and grooms families even shut down the party an hour early because of the bad energy given off at the taste counter. Also, its a shame that the winery owner brushed off all complaints sent his way after the event because he most certainly just lost a great deal of business. He apparently made little effort to properly address the bad evening. I feel so sorry for the families!

The winery is lovely. Nice setting, nice old building for the tasting room and events, picnic tables out back and the staff is friendly. We really liked some of the wines and between the three of us bought six bottles. So why the three star rating. Well, when all was said and done we felt kind of ripped off. The tasting is $6 for 5 tastings of wine. Thats okay, even reasonable. What is not okay is pouring LESS THAN 1/2 oz. Seriously, there was not even enough for one good quaff. And the staff is very consistent in the amount they pour, which once again, is measely. So, after pouring this scant amount the least they can do is credit your $6 on your purchase of a bottle. Well, they dont do that either. So, we had a nice visit , we bought some delicious wines but left with a sour taste in our mouth.

After touring over 40 wineries in Texas, too many to count in California, (lived there for 9 years)and dozens across Europe, Barking Rocks is one of the best with the most wonderful true wines Ive ever tasted! Not only will you enjoy great wine and atmosphere, the owners are friendly, happy, gracious; I now call friends. Its the best for fun events and tastings, makes one feel right at home in a relaxing, unique setting. I love this place and go often; one reason I can, I live in Granbury. Carol Cook

Barking Rocks is a charming little winery that offers a variety of wines, all with a "central theme" - meaning, you will love them all! Tiberia is friendly and fun, and likes to say that he makes wine that tastes good.

Beautiful building and good wine. A friend had taken me to see the winery and Tiberius took the time to take me on a tour of the winery. Great place!
