I take my scouts here often to hike or to do trail bike-rides. Ive even taken a kids bike trailer that I towed and it fit in all the trails. This is important because while I had an 11 year old passing off his scouting requirements, I couldnt leave my 2 year old at home so he rode along with me in the bike trailer. And the trails were wide enough for it. There were a few difficult spots but for the most part, trailer friendly. Our Scout Troop was also responsible for clearing the trash in 2013. Update: 5/10/2017: Even after all the rain and flooding a few months ago, the trails are still very hike-able. There were also a lot of trail-bikers there tonight. I love this place, lots of trails and still well maintained. It was a great evening to hike tonight. Another thing, Ive been here several times and have even cleaned up by picking up trash but tonight was the firs time I saw a snake, 2 of them in fact. I didnt know nor even think of having snakes there.

Rowlett Creek Preserve, as the bicycle trail is known, is maintained by DORBA (Dallas Offroad Bicycling Association, est. 1987). The trail has recently been expanded. Currently the trail is being run "backwards" as it is traditionally for race events held annually. The course will be reverted to its normal orientation soon after. Well we made mistake of going when it was muddy and trail was closed but on way out, our dog almost stepped on this....a copperhead! Werent really able to get far on hike to know whether we wouldve liked it; but this will give us pause for future just because of how high grasses are and dont want to risk something coming out and nowhere to go because trails are pretty narrow.

Great place to hike, run or mountain bike. Generally peaceful even though its surrounded by neighborhoods and roads. Parts of it can be a little dirty, and if you are walking/running be prepared to step off the trail regularly to accommodate the mountain bikers.

Loved riding here, quiet and plenty of trails. No major elevation changes but slight dips in and out if run off ravines are fun. One well marked 6 ft drop got my attention. Anytime in the area i make it a point to swing in for even a short ride

Numerous loops of Dallas area singletrack running in a clockwise direction maintained by Dorba. Different loops for all skill levels. Study the map or go ride with somebody thats been before if its your first time. Get out and ride!

What a brilliant piece of work by DORBA guys. North loops alone give you 90 minutes of solid fun. You may want to study the map before getting lost. They even have free access MTB tools in the parking lot! Highly recommended.

This is a great trail, it is fast and flowing. There are a couple of technical spots, beginners can go around these areas. You forget you are in the middle of a busy area when you are on the trail.

14 miles of bike/hike trails, heavily wooded, never over crowded. Bike stand with air pump, picnic tables and potable water. Bring a change of clothes and shoes as the trails are often muddy.

16+ miles of beautiful trails, not too difficult, technically, most of the trails are under beautiful tree canopy with a good portion following Rowlett Creek. Highly recommend!
