I would reccommend this store for live fish and supplies with the warning that they are expensive when compared to other aquarium supply stores in the DFW metroplex. The store is not large but not what I would call small either. You can walk from the front to back in 15 seconds. The front of the store is all supplies. They have one tank up front but it has very few fish. Their live stock is in the back of the store. Salt on one side and fresh on the other. Im not an expert on saltwater fish. I was very happy with the selection of freshwater fish and I spent a long time looking at their saltwater fish. They had some exotic choices! All fish appeared to be happy and healthy. They only had a few live plants. A week after our fish are still alive and showing no signs of health problems. Their staff was very helpful (it was not busy when we went so this might be subject to availability). She had no problem talking to me about what would be the best addition to my tanks. She was patient and knowledgeable. My only complaint was the cost. I purchased several fish, a new multi-stage pump and a few other supplies. Everything was priced 15 - 25% higher than what I have seen in other stores (both chain: petsmart, petco and mom/pop shops). The best example was Glow Tetras. I got two for $13 each. I have seen them $7-9 most other places steadily. Slightly higher prices is not too bad when everything else was very good. The service was great and I did not regret my visit or purchase.

I dont write reviews normally. But when you have been in the reef keeping hobby for 20+ years, its not about what the store carries in products, its about the knowledge of reef keeping and the guys who run the store. I had come to this store by word of mouth and im glad I did. I was greeted by Steve. Steve is an incredible wealth of knowledge when it comes to reef keeping, was very patient and answered all the questions that I had asked. Most people get caught up in the eye candy a store provides when you first walk in, but dont judge this store by that. Its clean and well kept and the tanks they keep are pristine. Its sbout guys like Steve and Dane who have the knowledge to make this hobby fascinating. Steve, because of your reef keeping knowledge I will come back to this store. Thanks

Upon walking into the store, I knew I was in the right place. We have a tank stocked with a variety of Mbuna Africans, so thats why I went to R2R. As I walked in, I saw a really impressive tank filled with Tangs directly in front of us. Then, I looked to my left and saw a Mbuna tank. I was really impressed with their selection of Africans but I was there with my dad who collects all sorts of species and was shopping for rams. He was able to find exactly what he was looking for and a nice variety of options. The fish were healthy, the tanks well maintained and the prices were pretty fair. Overall, it was great experience.

Make sure you know what you are buying before purchase. Went to get a product that comes pre-bagged, they were out so they showed me they had it on the shelf but it would need a bag. They then Showed me the bags for it. I purchased the product and bag but when I opened it I found the media would fall right thru the bag. I returned the bag to buy the correct bag and they said they could not refund the $3.50 for the wrong bag because I opened it. This is what the employee gave me. I spend an extra 50min of my time to drive back, buy the correct $10 bag, and you cant refund for your own mistake? Its about principal.

Great selection of both freshwater and salt water fish when they actually have shipments in, not much on freshwater plants though. The owner is obviously a salt water guy although the fresh water fish selection can be great at times. Really good customer service, and the people there no what they are doing. The store is always very clean and I enjoy every visit.

The owner of this shop came to my house and quickly installed an expensive filter/pump I bought online brand new. I couldnt get the first one I ordered to work so I sent it back. Dane, Rift 2 Reef owner, for a fair $50 plus tax took the hassle and stress out of the situation. He was clean, friendly and offered insight into keeping me on the flow. -Robert

Healthy stock, helpful staff, but the prices are too high and you need to know your fish. Not a store for a novice. I would stay away from their dry goods. Its WAY overpriced. A livestock only store for sure.

The prices here are decent, not overly priced for their freshwater fish. They have a nice selection of rare freshwater fish for a smaller sized shop. Staff are friendly as well!
