Went to Apex Aquarium today to check out their corals now that my 150 is ready to be stocked. This was my second time to the store. The first time I was impressed with overall cleanliness of the store. All fish and corals seemed to be extremely healthy. I picked up a zoanthid rock for $55. It was metallic green and yellow with about 150 polyps. Fish Gallery had a bunch of half dead corals for way more money. Apex store seemed well organized and the advice I got from the manager was much better than most places I go to, (I like to ask basic questions that I already know the answer to in order to see if they know what they are talking about, or just trying to sell me something.) They have good prices on frozen food and service seems to be good as well. I just moved to Irving, but I will be going here to stock my tank. I still like to go to most of the local fish stores to look at their stuff, but Apex Aquarium has better selection and prices for the stuff I want.

This store is small but they have a great selection of corals and a decent selection of fish. (They also do cleaning and maintenance on aquariums for people or businesses) All of the corals and fish looked very healthy and the coal prices are much cheaper than The Fish Gallery and Dallas North Aquarium. Also everyone thats ever helped me was very very knowledgeable. I really was set on this one coral and they told me it would get to big for my tank and would easily be able to sting my corals and likely kill them. Other stores would have just sold it to me without question just to make a buck.

Excellent service, highly knowledgeable in all aspects of reef keeping. Owner is a great guy and always putting forth the best corals. Great prices, they always have fresh frags as well as full size colonies. Will not sell you what you dont need, excellent quality. I have been doing this hobby for 15 years and this is the best saltwater store from Dallas to Fort Worth.The only store I go to now. Can make special orders, and they have all the quality testing kits to food to tanks.

first of all, their corals are magnificent. they have a large selection and the corals are very reasonably priced. I wouldnt go near any of their fish with a ten foot pole. the fish look pretty poor and they dont have much of a selection. the owner is an extremely nice guy and very helpful and willing to give out advice and share his knowledge. This is the second time Ive gone in the store and was very impressed with the whole store. At the first of the year after they had just opend you could tell it was a new store because the inventory was low but today the fish, corals and products were all well stocked. Picked up a nice flame angel, foxface and a couple of large corals.

The sales staff and owner are extremely knowledgeable and take their time in explaining things to me. They always answer my questions and do not push me to buy anything. This is my first time having a saltwater aquarium and they have walked me through the process week by week. I highly recommend Apex Aquariums.

Customer service while there was only one employee there both times, was very friendly and was very helpful. When I asked a question he responded with what I needed to know and advice every time. The corals are gorgeous and the fish are as well. I plan on coming again to stick my 55 gallon.
