Dont expect Atlantic City or Vegas and you may be alright .The casino itself is mediocre even for the area its located. Which does not boast any other choices hence why they are still in operation. There are no table games ,no dealers, pit bosses, floor hosts, only slots . The slots themselves could prove to be fun but there are not nearly enough even for the small crowd this casino attracts . Nearly everyone I sat next to was in their 60s and grumbling about one health concern or another. The bar service is practically non existent , which came as a surprise being the room is so small. I was there for just under an hour and heard in the distance a hostess walking the floor echoing the standard ( drinks, anyone want drinks ).Unfortunately for me I never actually made eye contact as she appeared to be stuck in the 20 machine ( High Roller Area ) . In all it was a poor experience but when theres no other options close it will do in a pinch just to play 100 bucks and cross your fingers. Beware when parking ,as the lot is a complete disaster, all pot holes and loose gravel, very low budget. Just bear in mind it is far from a true casino , just merely a few 1 armed bandits in the city of Monticello.

My husband and I came to the casino for a much needed nite out. It was our 2nd time in 10 years. The first time we only drank and danced to an R&B band that was really good. Last nite, we ate at the Upper Deck because we wanted a 5 star dinner. That is NOT what we got. The restaurant was less than par. Very dated, not well staffed and wasnt clean. We felt like we stepped back in time. The waitress, while bubbly, wasnt knowledgeable about the drinks. She had to go in the back 2 times to find out if they made Mojitos and had Hennessey. What establishment that carries alcohol doesnt make Mojitos or have Hennessey on hand. We ordered the blackened filet of sole and the lobster tail. The food was horrible and worse, it was overly priced. We walked around the casino and saw tons of penny machines. I suppose there were other slot machines as well but we never saw them. We left and will NEVER come back. Thank goodness Adelaar is being built because the Monticello casino is depressing and has poor standards. Wed never recommend this place to anyone. This place is a cemetery for seniors with no place else to go and desperados.

Went for the mayweather vs mcgregor fight that they advertised for. A crowd of 100 and me stood outside the bar staring at a TV 60 ft away because their new sports bar reached its occupancy capacity. Its just a shame the business education level could be so low. Im going to advertise for an event of this magnitude on a Saturday night but only have the few TVs in a tiny walled area play the event. They do still make projectors that put images on a large screen. But, heres what management was thinking, "were only going to play this in the sport bar because we dont want people watching the game and not paying for drinks". Heard that service at the bar was horrible 30 minute wait for a drink. Only 3 people working the snack bar as well.

Went out for the big mayweather vs mcgregor fight and sat at their bar with two friends. The wait staff was exremely disorganized and couldnt manage to serve the bar efficiently. The waitress got our order wrong, when we pointed out the error and asked for it to be fixed she got an attitude with us saying we were wrong and ordered what she put in. Then i asked another waitress if i could order more food as we were still hungry, she literally said no and walked away and didnt come back. The service is horrible. They are very incompetant here. Everyone aside from us is waiting for upwards of 20-30min for a drink or food order. If you come here come when it isnt busy, or better yet just go somewhere else.

Horrible horrible Horrible! Stay away from this rigged cheating casino, You never win anything..everybody including staff is so miserable ...no entertainment hardly ever! at least keep some music playing or something!!...I remember when I went to this place in the winter and the whole road leading up to the casino was nothing but ice they didnt even salt the roads or plowed the driveway I almost slid right off the road.. I TRULY HATE THIS PLACE STAY AWAY SAVE YOUR MONEY...NOT WORTH IT HERE.

Band was great on New Years Eve. But everything else was awful. No one won, out of 30 people I was with. Not even up $1. Dinner was a joke. Snackbar was packed and food was awful. Then some guy in a trench coat and bandana around his head walked in. Very scary thoughts went through my mind. Security did remove him peacefully but maybe they need more staff esp security. Maybe its time to let at least some people win something. Terrible. Going out of business?

Horrible. Treat the race track fans like crap. Lock all the doors so no one could get to the bathrooms, concession stands or even betting machines. I kid you not. Make you walk all the way around to the front entrance. Very inconvenient to all the senior citizens that are out there. They need to be reported. What ashame they get away with this.

This place sucks! It used to be fun, let u play for awhile before ultimately taking all ur money. But not anymore .. hardly pays and when it does its less than 1/10th of ur bet. Rarely see a bonus or free games on any machines. And, good luck getting a cup of coffee here. One waitress for the whole place! They shd be ashamed of themselves!

This is a casino that I wont be going back to. They dont run horses on the weekends. You have to pay for drafts even when your playing. The service is unhappy. Its tired there, Ive gone a few times and won nothing in there. Why no horses on the weekends?? Is that when people are off work and can go?

The outside is in bad shape..parking lot, sidewalks need repair. landscaping. if you call it landscaping is in bad shape. Food was terrible...Casino floor outdated. So glad it was not the reason I was down that way..Had a great time at Paul Jr. designs new shop and great time at Orange County Choppers.

Fun place, better than Atlantic city, Empire City in Yonkers N.Y., or going to Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun. Its only an hour drive from some locations like Dutchess or orange County. Cleaner there and no element of rif rag. Security is diligent and professional.

OK for a quick day trip, nothing special here.. Buffet is really not up to par & very overpriced for the quality presented. Better to eat beforehand. I was charged for valet parking, which was a first. This resulted in the attendant receiving a smaller tip.

meh. Nice racetrack. The rest . . . not so much. Trying to be something it isnt. Why do they keep building these places in semi-impoverished areas? It kills local retail, cuz this is where people end up choosing to spend on restaurants and entertainment
