Great place to spend time with friends and family. I went on a weekend and it was incredibly crowded; a long line stretched outside the ice cream factory, Id expect a good 20+ minutes wait to order anything around here. The environment and view of the river are quite nice, I sped pass countless people taking photos. The park stretches several blocks along the river, making it a fitting place to jog or bike. What absolutely ruined the experience for my friends and me was when my friends bike was stolen in broad daylight. This happened by the basketball courts where practically everyone leaves their belongings lying around. After reporting to the police, we found that it wasnt an uncommon occurrence. We were fooled by the safety the wondrous atmosphere of the park exudes and our hindsight was far from 20/20. The park rangers were friendly and helpful, but little could be done since there arent any security cameras. Cameras would help the thieving situation, but I doubt the city has the budget to tighten the security against petty theft. The park itself is deserving of a better rating, but the fact that it is frequented by people who take advantage of the oblivious, I simply cant rate the park any higher. It irks my usual generousity in giving ratings, but Im still too bummed about my friends bike. Consider this a highly subjective rating.

My favorite park in NYC! I went there in the end of this summer with some friends for a BBQ and the infrastructure was great: nice tables, good lights and an amazing view. Bring what you need and enjoy your time there! If you are not into BBQ, the picnic areas are also a good option. I attended the US Open Viewing there and I got a nice picnic basket and blanket. Thats all you need to have a great afternoon with friends. My plans are to celebrate my birthday there with a picnic next year! :) The park is divided in different piers and each one has something unique: a carousel, BBQ space, fishing area, picnic area, sports fields & courts... in the summer, you can enjoy a swimming pool and many different events. The view under the Brooklyn Bridge is amazing and it is a great spot to take sunset pictures. Make sure to bring your camera if you have a photo passion like I do!

My absolute favorite place in NYC! The park that runs along the East River has received dramatic and certainly most welcome development in recent years. This past summer was a testament to the great offerings of this waterfront with Janes famous carousel, the brand new roller skating rink, grills for bbqing, and so much more! Theres something for everyone here with awesome programming/activities year-round which include Smorgasburg and outdoor movies on the green. Needless to say, the gorgeous backdrop of the NYC skyline makes any activity you do here, all the better. TIP: Perfect route for running but you may want to avoid peak afternoon hours during the weekend when dodging larger crowds can be a bit of a hassle but at least youll get to work on your reflexes!

Well my experience at this park has always been a five star one! - Amazing View - Plenty of space to sit down - Great place to relax - Has movie showings and other events This is one of my favorite places to come in BK. There is something for everybody here. The park couple of miles across Brooklyns East River edge. The park provides space for active and passive uses including playing fields, sport courts, playgrounds, lawns, and running and bicycle paths. A calm water area is available for kayaking and canoeing. One top of it the park is super clan and very well maintained inspite being visited by millions of tourists every year. This park is definitely one of the best which NYC has to offer!

I really enjoyed my time here. It was crowded but it didnt feel like people were on top of each other. The place is huge with beautiful views of the water. I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because parking was terrible. The parking garage was full and on street parking was difficult to find. It looks like the city took away some of the street parking as well so that is where my disappointment stems from. (Someone that lives near there told me if you come in the morning parking is easier to find.) Other than that inconvenience it was quite enjoyable. They have biking and basketball courts and picnic tables. A place where you can spend the day with your family and be quite pleased.

If you love Cityscapes, this is A MUST to visit. Every time my Instagrammer/Photog friends come into town, this is probably one of the top places we visit to get daytime, dusk and nighttime shots of the Brooklyn Bridge and the background Manhattan downtown area. Even if youre not into photography, you really cant go wrong with laying on the grass or stooping on the rocks to take in all the views. Its quite a large park so while you get locals and tourists visiting, you never feel too cramped. Def walk all throughout the park because theres always a cool vendor to try or engagement/wedding parties or local entertainment. Its a fantastic place for all ages.
