Beautiful by the water and Forninos, the Pier 6 Volleyball Courts is a nice spring and summer location for anyone looking to up their beach / sand volleyball game. Many nights, leagues like Big City Volleyball rent these courts for their games so come early. As a BCV league member myself, I especially appreciate the fence surrounding our court so the balls dont fly everywhere. Each fenced area contains 3 smaller than average courts, covered with sand. While bugs (especially bees) will frequent this area in the summer, having sand was an adjustment but takes away my worries about diving for the ball. All in all, I am a fan. Bonus points, right by the pier so this always offers a great view to catch the sunset.

An amazing landscape with quite spots for picnic. The grass is lush. The spots for kids/toddlers are just wonderful: * Sand village (huge area with sand to build sand castles and just play with sand and water sprinkles) * Water Lab - stone area with water running, sprinkles - listed as for kids ages 5+ -but many parents get inside with kids that much younger *Swing Valley - different swings -babies, toddlers, kids and grown ups (tarzan style) With hidden spots to seat in the maze of plants. The only downfall is restrooms on weekends are just super busy.... no space to change if required or clean/shower yourl child with water after a play.

This is one of the best parks I have ever been to. The landscape is amazingly tranquil. Add the views of the river and lower Manhattan almost makes you feel like youre in a whole different world. The childrens play areas are amazing, from the water park to the sand box to the swings, my little one had a blast. Wish there was something similar or equally awesome in the Bronx. Gorgeous view of the sun setting.

This place is as close to beach volleyball as you could get. Sand courts along the East River and view of the Lower NYC skyline. Just remember to bring a ball and some friends or make some friends. Also there plenty of food options. You could picnic. You could grill nearby on the park grills. And there are some restaurant options nearby.

I enjoy taking a night stroll at this park. I feel so close to the water while having a beautiful view of the tip of Manhattan Island & the Brooklyn Bridge. The walk to pier 6 was just as pleasing, I was able to see Governors Island, The statue of Liberty and a cruise ship. The lights of NY is one of the most amazing things in the earth.

Perfect beach volleyball courts and that are inexplicably underused for New York. Often there is only one court of the three being used. A great spot for a match that seems to still be unnoticed by most of the city. There was a rooftop restaurant with BBQ and beer available last year, but it seems to be closed.

I was surprised to see this place. It was different. Theres a kids park and a sprinkler play area for kids. Its a nice place to walk. Theres outdoor volleyball for everyone and a brewery restaurant that serves pizza, sandwiches and more. Its a great place for the whole family.

There is an amazing amount of things to do right along the East River. The volleyball courts are kept in good condition and Forninos bar and pizzeria is right by the courts. There is also a nice walking and biking path along the soccer, football, and volleyball courts.

Such a cool place to play volleyball. If youre a volleyball player this is a must when youre visiting Brooklyn. The sand is clean and there is a water fountain nearby that you can fill up your water bottle with. Bring sunscreen and come in the morning!

I live in Dumbo so BB park is like my back yard. So many hidden little spaces that locals know about and tourists cant find. As the Greenway expands even more private places will be created. Truly, BB park is one of the really great NYC spaces.

Kids LOVED the play areas, plenty of shady seating for parents, gorgeous views of Manhattan, so many different things to do for all ages, Ample Hill Creamery right there as an oasis in the heat and lots of eateries only a few minutes away.

Excellent spot for sport and relaxation. The roof top bar is superb for post sport fun with decent prices. Busy little corner of the park but very much worth the visit with its play grounds and places for the whole family to enjoy.

I was disappointed with the dog run. There is virtually no shade and nothing fun for the dogs to do while inside. However for humans it was a great place to hang out and do activities. Not the dog run, the rest of the pier.

This is a great place to play volleyball on sand courts. The con about this is that kids go in and damage and destroy the nets. It is a nice place to play volleyball when it is not crowded. *remember to bring a ball*

Brooklyn bridge park is nice. Its safe and all but has a long way to go before its anything more than some old piers with grass on them.

Take to ferry to Governors Island. Enjoy the green space. Hard to believe this was all an industrial space not to long ago.
