I write for a very well known online publication. I spoke with "Matt" about doing a review and a write-up of the course, and he absurdly and inexplicably suggested over and over that I wasnt a writer, but was just trying to get a free round of golf! When I calmly offered to e-mail him links to my articles or send him to my personal website, hegot all worked up and just kept saying, "send me an e-mail that says you are a writer!" He was very bitter toward me for some unknown reason, and virtually impossible to communicate with. Bad bad experience. It left me feeling embarrassed, insulted, and sorry for the people who have to work alongside "Matt." I wouldnt touch this place. Scott R. Sacramento

Inspired by Tiger Woods sex life I felt it was time for me to learn how to golf. I bought a set of cheap hybrid clubs and have been hacking away at Emerald Lakes Golf course. The grounds keepers must hate me but perfection comes at a price (his grass). Its not my fault my wedge and driver travel the same distance... Emerald Lake is mainly a range with 9 holes glued-on for good flavor. The facility offers a discount card for frequent users and a small shop for forgetful golfers. Emerald Lakes like to keep things fresh by putting together tournaments and barbequing it up. When Im in the dungeons of hell, aka Elk Grove, Emerald Lakes is my second home. I plan to return.

I love this course! The practice facility is hands down the best, they even have a fairway bunker to practice from. They provide free balls to chip with and have a large practice putting green. The driving range has both mats and grass areas. The course itself has never been in better condition. Greens are consistent and fairways are cut perfect. Its a forgiving enough course for beginners plus its good challenge to score well here for advanced players.

Ive played this course since it opened over 20 years ago. Since CSD took over it has improved more and more. Greens are wonderful but tough. The NCGA rating has gone up. The staff are really friendly and community oriented. The flooding that was an annual problem isnt anymore. The proported "writer" is absolutely wrong! Duffers Arise!

Wonderful little 9 hole facility. They also have a nice short game area with bunker. The day we went the greens were fantastic, 12 on the stimp according the staff. I actually ran into a D1 collegiate golfer who said often the greens are quick. Excellent option for a quick 9.

Dont expect the best course in the world. Its a little cramped and, if you play like me, youll often see your ball enter the fairway of another hole. Still, for a quick 9 holes, its definitely a fun place, tucked away in a corner of Elk Grove.

Great course!!! I just play this course on Thursdays. And the course condition were outstanding. The sand in the traps is fantastic. Ive played courses in pebble beach that arent in the good of shape . Its a great short course go play

Im visiting from Seattle; amazed at the reasonable cost for golf, cart, and clubs! Course is fun, hole 2 is a tough 195 par 3. Greens are very nice and roll true. The people there were very friendly and helpful. Ill be back!

The course isnt very challenging but it does offer about every obstacle a golfer will encounter on difficult courses. A great place to practice or learn golf.
