Good food but the overall experience is not worth the price I dont consider myself a food snob. Im happy to have dinner in a place with plastic benches bolted to the floor if the food is delicious and the service is good. But when a restaurant prices itself as high end, then the expectations are set accordingly. With that in mind, we sat in a very nice room with a fireplace. The New England Clam Chowder and Escargot appetizers were delicious, as was the house salad that came with our entrees. The Short Ribs and one Filet Mignon entree were very good. The Filet Mignon Bouillabaisse was ok but overpriced. Another Filet Mignon entree came out with the wrong crust. It was replaced but that one was over cooked. Our party sent it back and didnt ask for another this time. The server splashed water when refilling glasses. He also reached across the table to hand a plate instead of going around, and forgot to bring steak knives. Another server was clanging plates right next to us. When the sides came out, there were no plates brought with them. These mistakes are not terrible but they are also not acceptable at this price range. The Brick House Coffee and Chocolate Lava Cake dessert were just ok. When the bill came, the one uneaten entree was taken off, but nothing else was done to make up for the mistake. Again, not reflective of a higher end experience.

I could not believe that not ONE ITEM I ordered was well prepared or tasty. Everything was mediocre. 4 of us for dinner and not one of us could say our meal was good. WHO"S COOKING IN THAT PLACE???? The dishwashers???? Or is it just they can not afford to pay a good chef and staff because of all they money spent on a large, bare, sterile catering section? How can you charge such prices for it? I love good restaurants and price is not an issue - but when you supposedly reach this level of restaurant, it better be better than diner food. The names and descriptions are terriffic, but I think I actually HAVE had better in food in diners. Plus the large room has no accoustical planning - a loud banging roar of plates and dishes. The downstairs overflow room is not where anyone should eat when paying those prices (across from the cigar room), and although the small rooms are still lovely, how do you reserve one ? - and their old restaurant ambiance still does not make up for the poor food quality and prep. This place should just go straight to a catering facility and forget the restaurant. And let us hope the catering is better than the restaurant menu! If you want a drind its fine, but if you want good food, do not make this your choice...

I just had a Facebook conversation with The Brick House. They are too disorganized to go there for Thanksgiving and their manners are disgusting. Ive booked aboard the yacht where I will have a classier time with a classier crowd. When you have an event which is "booked" you state so in your advertisements. You also state that reservations are required. Now lets say I didnt have the foresight to call and just showed up with my people? I would be embarrassed as they turned me away at the door. Until The Brick House gets its act together no more. Im done. A proper restaurant should be organized enough to tell you that reservations are required and if they are booked. So Ive stamped it as a place I will not even attempt to go to in the future. Go to Roots in Ridgewood instead. Otherwise you risk moments of embarrassment with your family or business colleagues as you are turned away at the door because they were not honest or organized enough to tell you that they are booked.

I had dinner at The Brick House tonight and was very disappointed. While the food was good, my dish was not great; however, that was not my issue. From the time we sat down, we were swatting flies and other flying critters away from our table. When I mentioned it to the waiter, I was expecting that he would offer to move us. NO! He dismissed it with a joke and we endured the flies throughout the meal. I will never go back nor will I recommend this restaurant. It was always one of my favorites, but that ended tonight. Shame on The Brick House.

The service was good but unfortunately the food we ordered was not. The oysters were not shucked properly. We ordered the steak for two and asked for it to be prepared medium rare and it was served medium well more well. The garlic in the broccoli rabe was so burnt it ruin the entire side dish. The french fries were burnt and the baked potato had been definitely sitting under heat warmers for quite some time. For the price and quality of the food we were served I would not return

We had our rehearsal dinner at The Brick House and we could not have asked for a better night. The room was wonderful, the service superb and the food was out of this world. I have such fond memories of our night here with friends and family. My husband and I are looking forward to returning soon! Many thanks to all at The Brick House who made it such a special evening for us all.

Attended a friends wedding and overall, great venue. Valet was friendly, space was clean and inviting. The bar, cigar bar and event space were all classy. Staff seemed very response and friendly. Buffet food for wedding was good - oysters, shrimp, stone crab and the usual hot dishes. Larger space than I expected.

The food is always good, the service always seems to be lacking for an upscale place. It seems like they spread the servers too thin. This place would be excellent if they could figure out how to raise the service level to match the atmosphere and menu.

An excellent place to dine in! Service is top notch, attentive, and ready for and of your dining needs! They also offer a complimentary valet service at the door! (Have some extra cash for tips ;-)) A 5-Star restaurant indeed!

The venue is beautiful. The wait staff is wonderful. The owner, Aldo is always at the Restaurant and willing to help. The food and drink are great but pricey. I had my wedding here and everything ended up wonderful.

My boyfriend and I went a few months ago and we were impressed. We plan on making plans to go back this December when the family from Atlanta is in town for the holiday. Should be a sweet Christmas celebration!

Food was OK, went for new years eve with 16 people so not always the best time to judge. I got steak that was cooked as requested. Those that got fish were not thrilled. Service was excellent.

The pulled pork sandwich and BLT sandwich was the best Ive EVER had! Go early because they are always packed! Phone in your order even. Gift shop is grand also!
