My daughter got married 6/27/2015 and had her reception here. Every single guest was complementing how wonderful the service was, how plentiful and delicious the food was. We had about 120 guests and during the entire evening it never felt crowded. The place was so spacious that during cocktail hour there were no lines waiting at the food stations and it was raining outside so we didnt even use the courtyard. The ball room was beautiful and set the mood for this memorable event. There was a large dance floor and plenty of room to walk around the 12 tables without bumping into each other. Im still getting texts, e mails and phone calls about what a great time they had. As parents of the bride, Colleen made sure we had drinks and food during the cocktail hour knowing that people keep coming up to us so that we might not have had time to eat. She also kept checking on use during the dinner portion of the evening too. It was wonderful. Prior to the wedding, Colleen was extremely helpful and made sure that all the request were taken care of so that my daughter had no stress at all. Colleen also walked her through everything that needed to be done by everyone involved. She made this whole experience fun and exciting. During the party, my daughter didnt have to be concerned about anything except having a good time. It was fabulous to see her not have a care in the world except celebrating her marriage. I would highly recommend this place to people who are planning a memorable event. You will not be disappointed. I will be using this place again when my son starts planning his wedding.
It is a shame how a few bad apples can ruin the whole bunch. The wedding was absolutely beautiful but some of the servers were past inadequate and down right unacceptable. One waitress told my mother and sister to "excuse her" as rudely as possible and when they explained that they had no where to go she said, "well why the hell is everyone in the hall way?". The male bartender, Mina, was specifically off putting through the whole night. I thought maybe I just read his demeanor wrong but even the brother of the bride had trouble with him. Very disappointing considering the food was very good and otherwise the atmosphere was very pleasant. Sadly I will always remember the grand as the venue with nasty servers. I will be following my review up with a written complaint to the managment, telling them how disconcerting it was to be treated this way without provocation. If you choose to have an event here please be sure they treat your guests as though you are paying them to do so.
The place was pretty and the food was ok. Although, the chicken, which was covered in sauce and melted mozzarella, remaimed dry and hard. Im also wondering why french fries were served at a formal banquet. That should never have been a menu option. It was buffet style dinner, but they dodnt have any serving spoons. Guests were getting food from the trays with soup spoons. When I asked if they had serving spoons for the buffet, I was given a sharp "No!". I cant understand how a catering hall does not have serving spoons. Additionally, if you pay for an open bar, you dont put drips of alcohol in a soda and call it a drink. Additionally, having a manager stand at the bar watching every drink being served to monitor the alcohol is a bit uncomfortable for the customers. Dont offer open bar if that is how you manage one. Despite these issues, the place was very pretty and most of the staff were polite and professional. I wish I could give it more stars.
Excellent food - All guests we spoke to were very satisfied with appetizers at cocktail hour, and the main course was delicious (we had salmon and prime rib). Excellent price - We found their pricing to be very competitive. Elegant atmosphere. We did NO extra decorating and the ball room was just beautiful as furnished. Most of all, excellent people - Ed, Colleen, and Cheri were very helpful and the wait staff was professional and courteous - just tremendous. Their one-event-at-a-time method gives the staff full focus on your event. Our only problem was discovering them. They are not highly visible from the road and you can miss them very easily. Definitely worth searching for!
Spent the evening of January 14, 2017 at a 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration st The Gand and cant say enough about the quality of thIs venue, it was excellent. The location was easy to find and the appearance of the rooms was top notch. The food at the cocktail hour, as well as dinner was very good, only topped by the impeccable service provided by the wait staff and bartenders. They were all about service to us and I loved it.We enjoyed the event, dancing the night away with good friends, Bravo to The Grand for providing the atmosphere to allow this to happen.
We just had my baby sisters sweet 16 at the grand, and it was fabulous! The party was so smooth, and such a success! LEd and Sherry were an absolute pleasure to work with. They were always thinking 5 steps ahead, and always had a back up plan. I was so impressed with the way they handled every aspect the day of the party. They were so patient with my family, and very attentive to our requests. They were so flexible, and on the ball. I hope to hold many more events here. Thank you for making my baby sisters sweet 16 dreams come true!
Being a wedding professional myself, its always great to work with venues that are accommodating, professional and on their A game. I have worked at the Grand at 1600 a couple of times now, and every time they impress me. When they say dinner will be served at 9:50PM, it was coming at 9:49PM! They are so attentive to their guests and the staff is always smiling and having a good time. Absolutely wonderful! Everyone was great! I highly recommend this venue. We had our wedding reception there on 7/23/15. Colleen and Ed were exceptional at helping us with planning and setting up. The staff was amazing. Everything was taken care of with ease so we could enjoy the night. All of our guests really enjoyed the food and were taken away by the elegance of the Grand at 1600. Thank you so much for making our special day even more spectacular than anticipated! Cheers!
This place was "ok". The food was average. Its funny to me to listen to the manager talk behind the clients backs to all the other employees, after they are out of ear shot. The hospitality is average and the bad attitudes are above average. Come on folks, just because you have a hard time being nice and you hate your job doesnt mean you should let it show at an event.
The whole staff was such a huge help in setting up our special day. They made us and our guests feel like vips. Everyone raved about the food. I would highly recommend going with the grand at 1600. Colleen and Ed are amazing!!!
