Just came back from an evening at Union Hall in Park Slope. What a traumatic night. We were sitting in a lounge area, reserved at some TBD point by another party. The party eventually arrived and promptly insisted that we leave the area without allowing us adequate time to get our belongings. After we retrieve what we could ( a friends hat is still missing) a bouncer came and asked us to leave, and said that we had offended the other party. We explained that we only wanted to retrieve our belongings, but it fell on deaf ears. As we were leaving, waiting outside for our friends to assemble, a member of the party approached us and asked "are you trying to steal from us? what are you jewbags?" We immediately went inside and conveyed this to the staff, but they completely disregarded this offense and quickly chased us away. Im shocked and appalled by the way that Union Hall handled this disgraceful situation. Hard to believe that an establishment in New York City supports racist patrons.

Live right around the block from this U Hall. Its my go-to for a local night out. Karaoke after midnight on Friday nights, and great dancing Sat nights in the basement. Its cozy but very Brooklyn. Not nearly as diverse as Franklin Park in Crown Heights but a fun crowd nonetheless. The fireplace area is nice with a number of couches/loveseats but note that all of them are taken by 10-11pm. Drinks are cheap and the staff is friendly, even on super busy nights. Only reason not to go here is it can get a little too crowded on a Saturday night. Lots of similar options nearby (Beauty Bar, Blueprint, Mission Delores) but nothing else in the Slope has a dance floor.

I am truly bothered by my first and only experience there. Went last Friday with a bunch of people around 11:30pm. Door man was nice, went right downstairs, decent music and vibes. Said vibe was destroyed by the douchey bartender who couldnt be bothered by a patron making reasonable requests. He was a dick to other people in my party as well. But thats not the worst part... My fiancee was roofied there. I kid you not. Lots of shady dudes were hanging around the bar and the unisex bathrooms although I cannot confidently say who spiked her drink. Either way, I will never go to Union Hall again.

We came for an event. The downstairs room, where the show took place, was way oversold, with far too little seating, which left only standing room at the bar. It was impossible to focus on the show because people kept coming to buy drinks. We got fed up with not being able to see or hear, and left before the show finished. Theyve got some other programs that sound like fun, but after this experience, we havent been back. If you do go to a show in this space, plan to arrive early. (Also, the upstairs bar looks like a pretty nice chill place.)

I went here for a birthday party and the place has a great space for large gatherings. Someone randomly and awkwardly reached down to mime shining my shoes as I was about to walk in, but aside from that the experience was pretty normal. As time went on and more people packed in, the bar staff got very swamped and struggled to keep up with the demands, but other than having to wait a bit longer for drinks, it was a nice time. I didnt get to participate in any games though, so Ill have to try that next time.

I dont come here nearly as much as I should. This place "gets it" on all necessary levels. Particularly the shows downstairs. It can get hipstery and uber annoying on the crowded tip, but each time I go, Im moved to say, "I dont come here nearly as much as I should. This place "gets it" on all necessary levels. Union Hall wears many hats as a great place to catch an intimate concert, have pint, bite, or challenge your friends to a bocce ball tournament. There is a great selection of beers on tap both upstairs and down, a good court yard space for cigarette breaks. The whole vibe of the bar is very much like the classic board game "Clue", old books, a fire place, big comfy chairs, et al. I have also seen some amazing concerts and comedy acts here. Definitely a hot spot of Brooklyn nightlife.

Great atmosphere and a good place to meet up with a large group of friends. I was a huge fan of the walls of books and couches that surrounded the fire places. The beers on tap were a bit strange and we had to taste a bunch to settle on one that was decent. It did start getting ridiculously crowded part way through the night and took almost 20 minutes just to close out a tab because of how many people were pushed up to the bar. That said, well likely be back.

Extremely rude and homophobic door staff. Felt as if we were 100 years in the past. Worst of all the management defended their doorman getting in our face and yelling obscenities when completely uncalled for. I could understand if we were perhaps drunk but this was early in the night when we only entering the bar. The bouncer seemed drunk and hostile and I havent felt unsafe in Park Slope this way since Ive lived here for 8 years.

A great experience but only to be really experienced on the weekdays, preferably off hours. The food is good and the beer selection is good as well. The prices are fair. The real reason to come is to play on one of their full size bocce courts or read a book by the wood-burning fireplace from their large selection. You feel super classy coming here for an afternoon beer. On a weekend night it is too packed to enjoy usually.

Union Hall is great for any an all occasions. You can come here for a chill drink during happy hour, awesome sweet potato fries, bocce ball or dancing. The ambiance is super classic, with a bookshelf, old-timey feel. Then, downstairs there is a dancing room with a DJ on the weekends. I have never had a bad experience here. There is also the most incredible Taco Truck outside of Union Hall that makes the best burritos.

LOVE the ambience of bbb...books + botch ball + beer. During the Spring and Summer months, very cute outdoor patio. Happy Hour is a must with reasonably priced selection of bar tapas and beer (and even great draft cider!). Would recommend for a date, casual night out, or even a celebratory occasion with a bunch of friends (can reserve tables in back or entire event space downstairs-where local bands performs).

It was about 2 am on a Friday night when I got there and lots of people were still there. I couldnt believe my eyes when I saw two bocce ball courts inside. It blended nicely with the earthy wood decor of the place. We grabbed our drinks and went downstairs for the open mic Karaoke. You pick songs at the bar and then you are queued up to sing on stage. The sound system was great and the crowd was into it.

being polite is something I expect from everyone, specifically from services providers and businesses...doorman was rude. seemed to go out of his way to not be nice. it may work on 20 yr old and tourists, and maybe it impresses his boyfriend, but get over it. over than that bartenders have the same disease - i dont tip anyone for being an a$$ so - no tip from me... beers are good though.
