The first time I found Lucy, I was riding my motorcycle down the Jersey shore to Wildwood and Cape May from Connecticut... I think I was 19 or 20. I stumbled upon Lucy and stopped for pictures and a cool drink with a friend. Recently, I was telling my wife about it and she thought it was a cool; if not kitschy thing to do on a boring Sunday - drive down the Jersey Shore and pop in to see Lucy. Its actually quite a remarkable piece of history - built in the 19th century and the interior reflects the style and beauty of the period. In short, its not as kitschy as you think.

I love elephants and I actually traveled 12 hours just to see this. I was not disappointed. I may be exaggerating just because of my love for all things elephant but I had a great time. Completely unexpected of what the inside looked like. Holds so much history. Such an interesting building. Gifts in the gift shop were very cheap. The beach Lucy overlooks was very nice. The staff was so friendly. Our tour guide was taking pictures for everyone while we were on top of Lucy and so knowledgeable. If Im ever over that way for something again I will defiantly be going again.

This is a quick visit, maybe not super interesting for younger kids but definitely worth a stop. As youre driving down the main drag, you cant help but notice Lucy (since she is several stories high). Its fun to learn about her history, the fact that she was moved a short distance to her present location, and learning about the campaign to save her. The view from up top is good, and its fun to see her painted on the towns water tower. Definitely worth stopping!

ARE you claustrophobic? Steep spiral staircases not your thang? Avoiding lighthouses? Well you should go see Lucy anyway, she is as spectacular (and free!) from the outside as she is up in her innards. For younger, nimbler tourists put the whole she-bang on your bucket list. Marvel at the design and engineering of the construction a mere 16 years after the end of the Civil War. Tip: they held (may still) a fundraising Valentines Day dinner inside Lucy.

We had a lot of fun visiting Lucy. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful, the gift shop has relatively good prices and you get free one hour parking. Had to dock stars, however, because I feel the attraction is overpriced. The tour is roughly 20 minutes long and costs $8/person. It is historical and I love supporting the attraction, but I dont think Ill be returning because of the price.

Fun, quick stop to make while at the Jersey Shore. This little National Historic Landmark was worth the stop. To walk up into the elephant you purchase an $8 tour ticket. The tour is interesting but very short. Not sure if it was the cost but I am just hoping that the money goes to the upkeep of Lucy. Would stop by again for pictures but the tour only needs to be done once.

Cute attraction for kids and the family. Look for discount coupons because its a bit expensive for a big family. You get an hour of free parking and there is a gift shop on site. There isnt much to the inside and the tour is about 20 minutes. There is a lot of history to learn and some fun facts. This is a landmark that you have to plan for when in Atlantic City.

Loved Lucy but guide was brusque, sullen and uninformative, not at all what youd expect. Also rude. They started the tour w/o us so we missed beginning of video and then wouldnt restart it. For $21 for a 5 minute tour in the middle of the winter, would expect them to be more accommodating. Fire that guy and get someone cheery, nice, informative and flexible.

Its a 65 tall elephant by the shore! Whats not to like? If youre young, have youngsters, or are young at heart its worth taking the time to visit Lucy. Its the oldest roadside attraction in the US! Things like this are slowly disappearing from our landscape through disrepair or disinterest. Take your time to see these wonders while theyre still here.

Lucy has been around longer than anyone reading this. Check the website for the fascinating history. I slept in Lucy as a very young child when it was Elephant Hotel briefly over in Margate! Any whining immature losers who rate Lucy based on some minimum wage tourguide should be buried in elephant poop. Lucy The Elephant is an institution!!!

Lucy the Elephant is amazing! Everyone should see this incredible historical masterpiece. I always smile when I drive by & see Lucy! Happy beach memories. They have a great gift shop with cards and memorabilia to help keep Lucy looking great! Worth stopping in & going on the tour inside the elephant

I felt like a kid again. I was happy to support an icon that was in need of repair to remain as a tourist attraction for generations to come. There are so many empty hotels and casinos in Atlantic City that keeping this bit of history instead of knocking it down for another casino or hotel is positive.

Lucy is a wonderful family experience. My children loved every part of the elephant. The views are incredible although my elderly aunt found the window in the "behind" offensive which put at damper on the latter end of the experience. Overall would recommend to a younger non-easily offended group.

Great attraction. Drove out to it from Atlantic City on a Sunday drive down the coast. Fantastic view from the top. Can see from Atlantic City to Ocean City. Very friendly staff and cute gift shop. Very limited parking but can also park on Atlantic Avenue. A nice break from Atlantic City.

Lucy is one of those American oddities. Its totally out of place in Margate, but, it put an otherwise owner occupied summer town on the map. Its just a few minutes from Atlantic city and its a neat little stop to check out and explore. Its something you should do if youre near Margate.

I Love Lucy. I mean a 65 foot tall elephant looking out to the Jersey shore. This is the oldest roadside attraction in America and well worth the $8 tour fee. The architecture and design of a building that went up in 1881 and still hosts thousands a year is amazing Youll Love Lucy too!

Toll anzusehen, extra für Lucy anreisen ist in meinen Augen nicht lohnenswert. Wir stoppten kurz nach einem Stop in Atlantic City.

Definitely worth seeing. A great piece of history! Parking can be tricky to find of youre not able to get a spot in the lot. Parking spaces at the Lucy the elephant lot is a one hour time limit, but youll have plenty of time to tour Lucy and visit the gift shop.

I had the pleasure of taking my six year old to see Licy and it dawned on me that I hadnt been there since I was about her age. Lucy is in great condition. She is an excellent seashore attraction if you find yourself on a scenic drive of the coastal towns.

Interesting piece of Atlantic City history. Climb up into Lucy through her back left leg, them go to the observation area. Be ware if you have a fear of heights that the floor of the observation area is glass, a skylight into the body of the elephant.
