My Experience: Ive visited this place about 3-4 times now. First time I was looking for a Siamese (true) Algae Eater, but to no avail. That day I knew I wanted a salt water aquarium. I saw all the cool fish they had in the salt water section. So I just had to get rid of my fish (which I gave to a friend w/ an established tank). 2nd time I was looking for live rock for the salt water. I ended up just buying one piece (and still waiting for the other nice selection to cure). The last few times I went there to buy a fish, but the prices were a bit steep for me. 25-34 for a True Percula Clown.. so I ended up calling PetCo and getting one for 12-14 dollars along w/ a blue neon goby. Now what I loved about this place.. the prices for their aquariums. They had the best deals on aquariums and stands ive ever seen. 300.00 and you could have yourself a huge aquarium with a stand CHEAP! Too bad I dont have any room right now. But I know where ill buy buying my aquarium from though. Pros: -Helpful staff which are very knowledgeable. -Great Selection of fish, inverts, corals -AWESOME prices on fish tanks! Cons: -Aisles for the freshwater section are very small and you see your self walking further and further down the side of the store just to get to the cashier, because people are filled he aisles. -Salt water fish were a bit high but they are not your normal petco fish so you would expect to pay a premium price and that its individually owned (which also makes things a bit more expensive). Overall: Great place that ill be getting my live rock from!

Good place for healthy fish. I have a freshwater cichlid tank and a newer reef tank. Ive gotten both freshwater and saltwater fish from them. Started off with some damsels from trop to cycle the tank and they were healthy and hardy. Have only had one fish die from them, seems he was a bit on the weaker side. As supposed to another local shop I had 5 clownfish die. All with pristine water conditions. Prices are reasonable and when they arent super busy you can definitely get some helpful information from them. If they see you care about what youre doing then they definitely work with you. Good selection of coral (not all the time though) but they are building 2 more tanks for that. Their stock can get a little touch and go as far as variety at times but I dont have any problem with that as they have generally very healthy fish and well maintained tanks. These guys, Aquatic Treasures, Pisces Reef and Blue Reef Aquatics are my favorites, depending on the area youre in and what youre looking for.

They do not regularly carry certain fish I have been interested in. I call and they say "I get them every once in awhile". I went in there once and was asking about a few fish. The one guy tries to be all cool giving scientific names.. and that is apparently all he knows. He does not know common names which did not help me at all. They do have a decent selection, clean tanks and the buy one get one on Tuesdays is nice (7 something and under). I prefer Atlantis- they will actually tell you if and when they get certain fish in! And Atlantis is better with trade ins. I called Trop Aquarium about a fish I wanted to trade in. They were a bit rude and gave me a lower value than Atlantis.

One of the largest fish selections but over the past several months some of the fish seem to be poor quality or sick. Ive been looking for specific varieties of fish and have tried to talk to staff. At one point they took my number and I was supposed to hear from someone if it was possible to do a custom order or not (I would prepay etc) but no one ever bothered to get ahold of me. Im done trying. I have 3 different tank setups in my house and I am dedicated to my fish hobby (live plants, driftwood, special lighting etc). Im now making the trip all of the way to Summerlin to Pisces Fish Emporium where they have been much more accommodating.

We went to trop aquarium for the first time today. Well lets just say i wont ever buy a pet from there. They do have some very beautiful fish but in almost all of the tanks there was a DEAD FISH floating around; by the looks of them they have been dead for almost a week or so! Their facility is not clean by any means, I would not let my other pets or children get close to the carpet or tanks. A lot of their tanks we not clean, they had all sorts of green slim on the tanks that made it hard to see some fish. I feel bad for the fish. Only one good thing about them is that they had the biggest and best tank supplies Ive seen yet.

I just went here for the first time, and loved it. I recently moved to Las Vegas and spent some time online trying to find a place like this, I read a lot of mixed reviews but took a chance anyway and could not be more pleased! I was acknowledged shortly after coming into the store, but was not harassed by employees asking if I need help. When I did ask for help I was assisted by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable woman names Lisa, who was awesome! She had answers for all of my questions and was very friendly. I will definitely be coming back on a regular basis for all my fishy needs.

I was going to go in to buy some fish and supplies, and wanted to support the local small stores over the big box marts like Petco and petsmart. I had a few questions for the guy...I first asked, nicely, if they pricematched online retailers like Amazon. He very rudely said no..so that ended the conversation. I did not bother asking them about the 20 or 30 fish I needed to buy, and a few fluvals renas, and tanks I needed. I decided to just use the PetSmart and Amazon for my orders of hardware and fish.

Went there to buy some guppies and i was amazed at what they had. 3 separate tanks full of colorful guppies they have all color combination you can possibly think of you definitely dont get that on petsmart/petco not to mention these fish look and are really healthy they have great selection of fish and other freshwater fellas (Definitely looking forward to going back) not to mention the fish credit thing where if you have a big fish you dont want you can take it there and theyll give you store credit.

The best store in Vegas for freshwater aquarium fish and supplies. Was instantly greeted and asked if we needed help by at least 2 staff members. Very well stocked with a wide variety of fish at competitive prices. The shop is well maintained, clean and spacious and the fish look well cared for. They also carry a very large selection of dry-goods such as large rocks, filters, nets, foods, and a good sized freezer with frozen food. Highly recommended!

I bought an anemone and it was good, the girl didnt really want to help, I came a second time and this time the guy helped me n acted so rude like I was the stupidest person on the earth for asking questions, with each question he got ruder and ruder, made me feel soo small, told me at the register that I probably didnt need anything I was buying... one of the worst experiences in my life, I wouldnt go in that store if you put a gun to my head
