My friends and I were looking to switch up our routine of courses that we play throughout the Saint Louis area and we stumbled upon this course online, we checked their website and saw they had a good deal on a tee time so we booked it, little did we know the terrible experience that was to come. First we arrive at the course and they inform us that they had an event that day and that there must have been some mistake with our tee time, and when we showed them the confirmation email they said they would get us out as soon as the event was over, which happened to be over an hour later, no apologies given for the website or inconvenience. The first few holes were in decent condition even though we are still in the middle of golf season. Then on one hole when one of our group hit a poor shot into someones yard he went to go look for it, I was preparing to take my shot and a cart comes flying in from atop the hill of the hole, so I wait to shoot my shot. The man comes up and I give a friendly " how are you sir?" and he responds by literally yelling at me and my group about what he classified as "golf etiquette" for around 5 minutes before barreling off in his cart. Needless to say this left a very sour taste in my mouth, because A) golf etiquette would say that its not proper to drive up at someone when they are about to shoot, nor do I think yelling during golf is appropriate and B) there are many better ways to handle a situation like that than yelling at customers. The course itself needed a lot of work in my opinion, the cart paths were in poor condition in many places, on several holes the greens were primarily sand or in a few instances there were several holes dug on the green, and on one hole the grass on the green looked like it was the rough. I personally will not be playing this course again, and I will be telling everyone I know that golfs to do the same.

I play once or twice a week. Used to play here last year but the course started to go down hill. Gave it another shot today.... I think they have given up. I have tried to give this place my business I live 6-7 minutes away on the other side of highway 30. Payed $20 for 9 holes..... Played the back 9 tee boxes were terrible, every green as brown burnt up, or just un puttable.we gave up after 4 holes. No one was out watering the greens or trying to make this course better. If I lived on this course I would sue for putting this POS in my back yard. Dont know how you can even call this a golf course or country club at this point its more like a dog track. Wouldnt play here for free, I feel like I was robbed of twenty dollars. Went in and spoke with the guy at the counter who said he was knew and didnt know the course was that bad. He did provide us with a rain check but thats not what I wanted, told him maybe we will check back next year. PLEASE dont give this place your money and dont waste your time. Maybe of no one goes here they will fail, then maybe someone who knows how to run and maintain a golf course can come in and fix this place. I hope someone reads this that works there and gets this place moving in the right direction. Good luck. - Alex W.

I have been playing here since 1999. The course was never in great shape, but it was challenging for a high handicapper like myself. As the years went on, I noticed that it was in worse and worse condition. I played here one time last year and thought that it would be quite a while until I came back again. Yesterday was the day I returned. There was a note on each golf cart asking for patience for the present conditions. Note stated that it had trouble with its greens last year and they are still working hard to fix them. B. S.!!!!the grass in the fairways was 3 to 4 inches high. The roughs were 6 to 12 inches high. All greens were in very poor condition, with many being mainly dirt and weeds. Half of hole number 6 was all weeds with no grass in site. In fact, because of such bad condition, half of the green was roped off to not be used. Good thing, because you could not have rolled a baseball through those weeds. Course needs lots of money, hard work and good management for it ever to be acceptable for play again. And it does not look as if either of those three is on the horizon. Good thing to say...it only cost $15.00 for senior to fight 18 holes with a cart. Good thing, because a higher price would have been larceny. Play here at your own risk!!!

We purchased a Groupon deal for this golf course last year. This week we were reminded by Groupon that we only have 21 days left to claim our Groupon. Yesterday we went to Sugar Creek Golf Course to claim our Groupon. We were informed that it was under new ownership and they would not honor the Groupon at all. Not for the deal or for the amount of money we spent to purchase. This of course goes against all that Groupon states in their ads, that it would be good for the deal or if expired (ours was not) the amount of the purchase. I realize new ownership didnt make the deal with Groupon however; they do have a Groupon offer now. We did receive a credit from Groupon for our dollars spent. But we will not be spending any money at Sugar Creek Golf Course. I feel good business would have been to honor the Groupon at least for the dollar amount if not the deal purchased. They certainly have lost business from two regular golfers.

The only nice thing about this golf course is leaving it. Terrible experience. Dennis, the manager is a complete jerk. We booked a tee time online and they screwed it up and we had to tee off an hour later, received no apology or any form of discount. Then on hole number 1 I was shooting from the fairway and was chased by two roetweilers that were not on leashes. After that a member of our group hit a ball off the fairway near a house and Dennis (the manager) yelled at us on the course for about 10 minutes. The course is in terrible shape, one fairway has a bulldozer in the middle of it. Another hole has 5 holes to hit in on the green. A couple greens are all sand. This place is awful. I would rather play tower tee than this course. They have lost a customer for life.

We booked our tee time a week ahead of time online. I called to confirm but got no answer. I even left a message and got no call back. When we showed up we were told to wait an hour and a half because they didnt have our tee time. In the middle of our round we walked into someones backyard to retrieve our ball and moments later were literally screamed at for 5 minutes on how hes "the manager and not some marshal". He later came by trying to make small talk and be friends as if nothing happened. Out of everything that happened we never received one apology for the tee time or for what we had to go through when the manager disrespected us for 5 minutes. Also, half of the greens are missing grass and the course was in sub-par shape.
