The course itself was in fantastic condition. It had rained for the better part of the morning, so I played in soft conditions. Greens were slow, as expected, but were all in great shape. The bunkers drained well and were predictable. Fairways had some good open areas and undulation that made it interesting. Even the wildlife was beautifully unpredictable, I saw half a dozen gators. The only complaints I have were about the facilities. I was shocked to pay 50$ as a twilight rate, (69$ normally) and the clubhouse was only a doublewide trailer. For a course that is only 5 years old it was difficult to figure out. It seemed as though they invested a lot initially, and then the funds ran out when it came time to buying golf carts, building cart paths or even building a clubhouse. Literally there were cart paths, but they were mostly dirt/rock with some areas that looked like 100yr old worn out concrete paths. The carts were all very very old carts, probably purchased from another course that replaced theirs. I loved the course, but I dont think I would play it again for 50$. I would be more comfortable paying 30 for the amenities available. If you want a course that is equally well kept but better amenities for the same price I would play The Atchafalaya in Patterson.

Somethings I do know. This is one of those things. LaTour Golf Course is a "Real Golf Course" which can challenge the best and give pleasure to the weekend golfer. Greens hold true, to somewhere around a 8-9 and fairways are just that "Fair and wide enough for slightly miss aligned shots. The staff is most helpful with all issues that may arrive. PreQualifying for PGA tournament just took place there and players had good things to say about conditions of the course. This is a Golf Course worth driving a couple of hours to play. Recently spotted Samuel L. Jackson playing there!!! Hey, he can play anywhere!!!! The only Con and its a pretty ugly one......THE CART PATHS SUCK!!!
