While I literally live withing walking distance of AMC Coon Rapids, their price increase of 30%+ has driven me away! If it wasnt for Wynnsong, I wouldnt be going to movies at all, a shame because I used to go about 4 - 5 times a month. So, now I drive a little over 5 miles to see my movies! Pros - inexpensive (I get 2 people into a matinee for about the same price as 1 at AMC). This is a major plus in my opinion. The more money I save, the more movies we can go to!! cheese and caramel popcorn nice employees seems to be more quiet while watching movie - AMC tends to have loud kids running up and down the stairs - seen it many, many times. no assigned seating (dont get me started on that evil) Con - Ive been spoiled by reclining, cushy chairs and plenty of leg room, which Wynnsong lacks. So overall, the pricing is what got me Wynnsong and what keeps me there, though I really appreciate the unassigned seating and less noisy experience. Ive seen some comments that its dirty, but when compared to AMC or the few other theaters I have been to, its about the same as them.

Its movie time! My Minnesotan friend introduced me to this place for its value. Its a nice theatre, for its price. Im from California and I havent seen a movie ticket less than $6 bucks since like 10 years ago... Tickets are only $5.75 Monday-Thursday nights. They might be slightly cheaper during matinee. They are slightly more on Fridays and weekends, but its still cheaper than most places. They have all the most recent movies and lots of "midnight" showings as well. This place is also pretty clean and well run. Staff is helpful and nice. Bathrooms arent run down. One thing to note is, their concession isnt that cheap. Its about the same as AMC if not slightly more costly. I dont believe they offer refills on Large drinks/popcorn like at AMC, but it still cost around 8 bucks for large popcorn and 6 bucks for large soda. Nonetheless, this place is a great deal if you dont use the concession stand! Come check this place out! Nice theatre out in the Minneapolis suburbs. I would come back here again. Its not a nice AMC with loveseats, or the Showplace ICON in St. Louis Park, but hey, its much cheaper.

This place has turned into a Royal DUMP! I have emailed Caremike twice with numerous problems, never have I gotten a response. It is pure filthy, the concessions dont even swipe the masses of spilled popcorn off for hrs..I wouldnt even set my purse down on counter to get money out. Theaters are occasionally cleaned. Walked into a pitch dark one, had to use cell phone to find a seat, and that was 10min prior to movie. No ads running..Just dark. Everything is run down, even the 3yr old woodchips outside, that have run off and looks deserted. If you have a choice: go elsewhere. Original Post was dated a yr ago. Update:9/14 After many emails to Carmike, they finally got their act together and got this place cleaned up. Why it was let to go to such poor state. I do not know. But they finally responded to my emails and I have been back to that theater and it has been cleaned up, inside and out. AKA they got chewed I bet from bigwigs. Who should pay attention to their places, not wait until it gets to that point.

The movie experience was Ok; nothing great and nothing bad. On the plus-side, there were plenty of show times so it fit my schedule. On the negative-side, they ran all the ads AFTER the start-time of the movie. These ads did not include the previews which took another half hour. If they want to show ads, it should be before the showing time. The worst part was, on January 2nd (a Monday and the day most people have off for New Years) the place was packed (understandably) with families out to see a movie. However, they were horribly under-staffed with only one person selling tickets, one person taking tickets, and two people manning concessions. By the time I came out of my film, the lines were still horribly long, but theyd added two more concession sellers and one more ticket-seller. They really need to hire more employees and staff them for big holiday turn-outs. I dont mind standing in line on these days but not to the extent we were shown by such low staffing.

Went to see a late night movie. The Internet site said the movie was in 3D at 11:45. We get there, buy tickets, as were walking my date mentioned we hadnt gotten any 3D glasses. An employee just walking by offers to grab them for us. Very nice. So after, he says that it started 15 minutes earlier. Confused, we confirmed our theater tickets with him, he says we had bought the 2D tickets, as the showing at 11:45 wasnt 3D. We were disappointed, as we had been planning on seeing it in 3D for months. Seeing our disappointment, this employee upgraded us to the 3D for no charge! The customer service here is fantastic! Every employee who helped us was polite and courteous. Cant say enough nice things about this theater or its employees. Highly recommend!

Ive been coming here for about 5 years now and I love it. Decent quality films, super cheap prices, and the popcorn is DELICIOUS! The best days to come are on tuesdays because theres discounted tickets and concessions but since its a popular deal, you may have to wait in line for 6/7 pm showings ***Current update: Still come here every now and then, but since it became New Vision and was bought out Carmike, it doesnt feel the same. The prices have gone up a bit and the discount tuesdays have been discontinued or at least severely redacted. This used to be my favorite movie theater because it was cheap and relatively good quality, but for the price, Id rather just go to AMC and sit in the comfier chairs and better sound

Primarily our family goes because it is close to our house. However over the years it has simply gotten GROSS! One end of the entire building smells wet and musty and has for several years. The floors are always sticky, there is usually trash leftover from previous shows and thank goodness its dark because I cant see the condition of the seats. The temps are never what they should be either. Management you should be proactive here, the AMC in Coon Rapids has the same ticket prices and food prices but those reclining leather seats are hard to pass up. Unless its a movie that they are not showing we always go to AMC. Sorry Wynsong but cleanliness matters to this Mom.

I went to see EVIL DEAD the other night with a few friends of mine. The first scene when the girl is burning and screaming 2 moms walk in with 3 kids between the ages of 6 to 10.... The entire movie theater starred at them waiting to leave.... but they just sat down and started watching. Some parenting huh. I went to inform the manager. Vo was more than helpful. she went in and offered them to go see the 3D Jurassic park movie informing them it would be more appropriate. with out those poor kids watching that movie me and my friends were able to actually enjoy it. Thank you Vo and the staff at Wynsong. Great Theater. Great staff that cares
