This movie theater is nice. The grounds and the theaters are clean. The location is convenient to this Troy neighborhood. MJR Troy offers a loyalty card which will provide promotional or points driven discounts when you frequent them often. They have wheelchair accessible parking and accessible automatic doors, video games for fun while you wait and a family restroom. The decor is movie chic (basically movie posters on the walls) and the staff smiles and directs you to your movie. I have only sat in the wheelchair section with my friend who uses a wheelchair but the seats are comfy unless the person behind you puts their feet on the railing above your head. Then things get uncomfortable. They often have the latest movies and if you go on a weekday when most people are at work, you can look forward to no lines, no waiting and a pretty quiet, clean, uncrowded, spacious theater. The one thing I dont like is that when Im in Theater 14 or one of the theaters in the back on the left hand side (from the front counter) the restroom is far away and I hate feeling like I have to run all the way down that hallway to the bathroom. Otherwise, they have a bar, 3D movie options (when available), a wide candy selection (I found mini whoppie pies which I never saw before finding them at MJR), you can request fresh popcorn if the popcorn is stale, nachos, pizza and kids pack (popcorn, candy and a drink with unlimited refills on popcorn and drink). The butter and salt is self-serve so you can add as much or as little as you want. They offer a selection of popcorn seasonings such as caramel, garlic parmesan, ranch and nacho. As a plus, they offer unlimited refills on popcorn and soft drinks, which is pretty standard at comparable movie theaters, but still nice to know this is offered before you go. If you are in this neighborhood and you enjoy the movies, stop by MJR Troy Grand Digital Theater. I recommend this place.

this was the first time I had gone to see a movie in forever. I actually purchased the tickets ahead of time using the mjr app. then used the email confirmation number to check in at a kiosk. which allowed me to avoid talking to a person in order to gain entry in the movie. titties! they served beer which was a pleasant surprise. however the bartenders seemed relatively new, and not very personable. the seats were amazing compared to the last time I went to a theater. big, comfy, reclined, and enough leg room for a person to walk in front of you. I saw American Sniper, which was awesome. I felt good when we all clapped at the end. and when Chris kyle shot a bunch of terrorists. #merica

The movie theater is adequate. Its visual and sound capabilities are standard. The facility is very clean. The staff are young teens who do a good job. Most of the time I go to this theater to enjoy a Sunday matinee so the theater is mostly empty. BE WARNED: this theater is frequented by degenerates, the kind that clap every single time they recognize an original character from the Star Wars franchise and ruin the movie for anyone who possesses an iQ that isnt a football score. They must be so proud that they can recognize faces. As if it wasnt bad enough that these people exist, they decided to take the devolution process one stage further by bringing their spawn that cant shut up.

I went here for the "Epic" experience. Granted I did see ID4 Resurgence with this feature, however crappy movie aside, the "Epic Experience" was nothing more than different chairs. The screen looked and felt standard, nothing about it was even vaguely unique or warranted the extra $$$ I shelled out. The $17 bucks I spent for my wife and I to experience this sub par "Epic"ness was a waste! Never have I been so dissatisfied or felt so ripped off. MJR is my go to theatre but man this really hurt, wallet-wise and experience wise. I will never again pay extra for this pathetic "Epic" experience. 1 star and 1/10 MJR dropped the ball!

Its a great place and its kept very clean and thats what I love about it. The screen is also very massive. The one problem though is that the seats are only as comfortable as they get. Theyre not bad, but theyre not as good either. It could be the fact that Ive been going to AMCs Theatre at JOHN R from the start that makes me think this way because they have soft leather recliner seats that make a movie just that much more enjoyable. Other than that this is a fantastic theatre and you are sure to have a good time if you dont mind sitting in those chairs for more than an hour. Just my thoughts. :)

Most helpful polite staff. Theaters are large and not crammed like AMC.Staff always cleaning and attentive to customers. Homelike atmo. Lower cost than c***** AMC. I am in way want to keep the secret and dont want the crowds here but want to be fair to the the staff. Now, the food. DOnt expect an avocado sandwich or any healthy fair, just like theaters they have crappy expensive food, this theater is included. BUT, I should say their chicken strips are the best. It taste like you are eating real chicken and not batter.

My favorite movie theatre of all times. Seating is comfortable, movie screens are awesome, pricing is great, the rewards card benefit is an excellent bonus. In the summer Tuesdays is free popcorn and staff always friendly. If you ask for a cup of ice water they do not charge extra. I have recommended mjr to many of my friends. I will go to mjr before any other movie theatre in metro Detroit. Clap, clap, clap...if you know what I mean!! I highly recommend MJR

The service was fine, the seats were okay, but their food was awful. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and it wasnt actual pepperoni. I asked for a swap out for chicken tenders (they did not charge me more, so that was nice of them) but they didnt taste much better. It all tasted like Kid Cuisine meals. Dont order anything other than popcorn, candy, and a drink. But the seats were decently comfortable and the staff was pleasant.

The theatre is a couple of years old only, so it is clean and in great shape. The staff is professional, the rooms are comfortable, the sound is crisp. Try the Epic scree experience whenever possible. Its worth the extra dollar for spectacular movies. Also, MJR has an early bird show that is even cheaper than mâtiné. The company makes going to the movies affordable and fun again.

When you drive up to it, it looks like a brand new built theatre. The theater rooms are excellent condition. The lobby is in excellent condition. Surround sound is amazing. Prices are more on the expensive side than the cheap. Ticket prices are more pricey than cheap also. Seats are comfy. Theater room is great. I love this place, even if for their kind of expensive prices.

This has become my new place to go for movies. The facility is nice and clean, the staff is kind and helpful, the theaters are all well laid out, and the prices are good. Their Atmos theater, which they call the Epic Experience is also worth the extra dollar. It also benefits to sign up for their rewards card, its free and i have gotten plenty of free stuff using it.

Love this place. Newly opened (Summer of 2014). They have done a fantastic job with its maintenance and cleanliness. They have a good rewards program as well to get your free drinks, popcorn and even movies. There is also a Bar inside here, that you can bring drinks into the movie with you. This is my movie theater of choice in the area.
