I like this theater because very nice, clean, the employees are very professional and most of all people respect others while in the theater But This person "A Google User" wrote: "The opening of this theater has marked the downfall of downtown Royal Oak. The first few times I visited the Emagine I found it to be quite a great experience but as the months have passed by things have been headed down hill. This is mainly due to the type of patron this theater seems to be attracting. It seems to be attracting posers that don’t belong within the city of Royal Oak. I understand when you go to a theater you expect teens and some instances of disruption from the younger generation but at this location expect it from the middle aged group of patrons who apparently haven’t been trained on how to act in public while being released from their cages. These unruly and obnoxious people seem to be overrunning this theater and worse off have begun to overrun the rest of that end of town since discovering this theater. You will usually find them complaining about the cost of everything from parking to admission. You will also find them yelling at the screen during your show and hooting and hollering about for no apparent reason. They seem to be easily amused by things and oblivious to others around them as well as oblivious to any rules set forth in a normal theater. The solution to this problem is easy. The theater also should require a dress code like the bar does and this should actually be enforced as it currently seems to be a bit lax. The price of everything should be raised 50% so that we can eliminate some of this poser crowd and draw them back to the theaters they attended before coming out to the Emagine Royal Oak. We also need a larger police presence in the area as I have seen that crime and unruly behavior has increased since the theater arrived. Honestly this would be a great theater but for some reason it is drawing the wrong crowd. I would prefer to not see a film when I know the majority of the people in the show with me are using government assistance programs like welfare and unemployment to pay for their admission ticket. As a taxpayer I don’t feel it is correct that they seem to be allowed to enjoy the same entertainment in life minus the hard work. Hopefully this gives you an idea of the type of patrons you will expect to see at this location. I suggest staying away as it seems to be only getting worse. It should be completely run into the ground within the next year. It is only a matter of time before they will need metal detectors at this place. This is not a family friendly theater!" This theater is nowhere near as bad as he or she claims !!! what the HELL is your problem? getting metal detectors, raising the price %50, more police and a dress code? are you SERIOUS!!!! you even went as far as saying people was using government assistants to purchase tickets Really? your either on CRACK or as you say "Patrons who apparently haven’t been trained on how to act in public while being released from their cages". You must be talking about that ***hole from the mass shooting that occurred inside the Century movie theater in Aurora, Colorado 2 years ago cause you act like you were there and still have nightmares from it !!!!

I was enjoying my Veterans Day until I came to this theater. I dont understand why parking is not free for the theater. Its already expensive to pay for tickets and refreshments. Five dollars for a hot dog. I asked the ticket guy if he could validate my parking when I bought the movie ticket because i have an emagine card he told me he could not because the point system was not working. I felt like he could have at least said make sure you get it validated even though I know thats not his job. I have always gotten my parking validated after the movie and never had a ticket. Today i receive a ticket at a ridiculous amount of $35 when parking is only .75 cents an Hour after 5. Well i learned a hard lesson that parking had to be prepaid. This has definitely deterred me from going back to this theater. I think they should be able to do something if u receive a ticket and you are part of their emagine club members. The theater seats are nice besides that which i guess is the reason the tickets are overpriced. The people at the concierge desk are not attentive you have to get their attention they walk away to clean the bowling area while you are standing there. They walk in and out from behind the desk without paying you any attention. Thats everytime I go. They dont ask if you need any help. You have to flag them down for help. I know they want luxury but the theater is too small and no one wants to sit too close when the theater is full. I sent them an email....no response. This is my last time going to this theater.

They need to turn off the AC it still winter time and they have the movie theaters cold as crap everytime I go I have to ask them to turn the air down and it seem like they turn it up instead of down always have to bring a big blanket for me and my daughters and whoever else I go with which is way too much to do while youre trying to carry your popcorn and drinks and whatever other snacks we get. Like I said its winter time its still cold outside why do you have your air on I only come here because I live right down the street from here but I think Id rather take the drive to MJR instead seems like to me from the other reviews thats what everybody else is doing, its the next best thing, might even be better. ..... is January 19th 2017 and Im updating this review still having the same problems the movie theaters are comfortable when you first sit down and then 5 to 10 minutes into the movie you can feel the air come on making it extremely cold in the theater its hard to enjoy the movie when youre trying to stay warm I asked the staff multiple times if they can turn the heat up and it seems like no one cares about their guess being cold this theater makes too much money and not to keep their Theater Warm. They should really be ashamed of themselves

A big learning curve on this one. Ordered tickets on Fandango and assumed based on the wording that "Luxury" with a table was more luxurious than some lazy boy "recliners" (theyre most definitely not) and that wasnt explained anywhere. The (not so) luxurious seats were shown in groups of two, so we pick two together and find the two seats dont even share the "table", its shared with the stranger to your other side (?????). On top of that, the parking situation was NON EXISTENT unless you want to risk getting towed for parking in the other theatres lot. Liked the new self serve Coke mixing machines but the food was terrible - huge bag of nacho chips with nowhere near enough cheese to accommodate them, and the cheese wasnt even good and the Bosco sticks were super overpriced for two stale, cold sticks. The one pleasant thing was the movie (Wonder Woman) was incredible, but thats neither here nor there haha... Would do a recliner if I ever make it back there but overall Im going to try somewhere else if given the option next time because of the many hassles of going here.
