I have been a Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village member card holder for many years and visit frequently, despite living a considerable distance from the Museum. I have always enjoyed my visits. I love the houses in the village, the mid 1800s atmosphere, the restaurants and the many activities you can participate in. I love being able to take my daughter there to learn and have fun together. Unfortunately, when I visited the Village this past week my experience was unlike any I had before. While I was at Fords Model T district someone stole my daughters stroller. In the bottom of the stroller was her diaper bag (with all her snacks and nightly medicine), her bear (which she cannot sleep without) and my DSLR Nikon camera (which I purchased for school). Upon seeing my stroller was gone I immediately reported it to the nearest worker, a ticket booth attendant, who got agitated, and continuously keep telling me no one took it. He even got to the point where he yelled at me and would not report it. I then searched for another employee who would hopefully help me report the theft. Eventually, I was directed to Guest Services at the entrance of the Village. Here I was told I could fill out a lost and found form, which I did. Since the value of the camera with the camera bag and extra lens was valued at $1,000, I decided to make a police report. When Guest Services heard me telling my mom I was going to make a police report, they got mad and told me I was not allowed to call the cops and it was against the law to call cops to Greenfield Village. I could not believe they told me that, that is so wrong to make someone feel like they cannot call the authorities when a crime is committed. Thankfully, it is the age of technology and I was able to call on my cell phone and make a police report when they arrived. While waiting for the authorities to arrive, my stroller was found. I was ditched in a LOCKED EMPLOYEE AREA, where my diaper bag was emptied and thrown. My daughters medicine was found in the bushes and my camera was gone. We ended up having to drive back home without my camera. Within the next days my mother and I called the village to see if the camera was ever found or if they were able to check the surveillance tapes. Our calls were greeted by hostile workers who hung up on us many times and eventually would not answer calls and would not return calls. My mother than called and told them if they did not at least tell us what was going on we would call someone higher in the company. Within 20 minutes of this call we received a return call saying the camera was found, again in a LOCKED EMPLOYEE AREA. They then proceeded to tell us that we simply misplaced the camera and it was all our fault. As I said before our personal belongings were thrown and scattered throughout the village and my camera was gone. We obviously did not misplace it. Ever since the camera went missing we have not received any sympathy from the Village employees or regrets that theft happened at their place of work. They were rude, accusing and made us feel like our rights were taken away when they said we could not call the police. I have informed the Dearborn Detective Bureau that the camera was found and the location. The detectives think it was an employee and will be pulling the tapes from Greenfield Village. Hopefully, Greenfield Village employees are better at working with the police than they are with their own costumers. It seemed as if the employees were trying to cover it up for someone. I am very disappointed in the way the employees of Greenfield Village treat their guests, especially in a situation such as this.

The NON-Magical History Tour A Beatles Memorabilia Exhibition Is Not What You’d Expect To See! This attraction is a waste of money! It’s a hoax! It’s just a bunch of someone elses memorabilia stuff with signed autographs, concert t-shirts and record albums and one letter from George Martin and amateur photographs that is irrelevant to the Beatles which I call space fillers. It’s basically someone’s collection of little junk that they collected over the years and contracted with The Henry Ford to put on display behind glass to make it appear that it has value. A Hofner Bass signed by Paul McCartney is not his actual Bass he played on stage! It’s a replica that was autographed! Some people truly believed it was the real one which I had to sadly explain to them that everything on display there was not the actual materials owned by the Beatles! Another example was a check signed by George Harrison to pay for a Taxi fare in 1972! LOL! OK! A Quarrymen Drum set that appears to be very small! Again! Another Space Filler! Lots of headphones and devices with pre-recorded music that inspired the Beatles, but was not the actual artist playing! 4X6 cards replicating a song list from one of the Beatles is again fake! I was expecting real items owned by the Beatles themselves and the $5.00 entrance fee for this event didn’t do it’s justice! The only real items on display were marked up 100% in the gift shop for everyone to purchase before you exited the door! All I can say is save your money for a real Beatles event! It was like a fly by night used car dealership! I suggest that you purchase The Beatles Anthology on DVD or Blue Ray cheaper on Amazon! Around 12 hours of rare footage and history about The Quarrymen, Beatles to their break up. The Henry Ford was charging $114.00! Yikes I have been a member of the Henry Ford for about 6 years and have been OK with what they display in the Museum and Village. I have been disappointed with the Museum when they promote and market up coming attractions such as this Beatles Non-Magical History Tour, to trick you into believing that includes entrance fee or allow for a little discount for current membersips to see these behind the walls attractions without charging an additional fee. It ran me an addition $20.00 when I already paid $240 for my annual membership! Not happy!

Too much money for a not-for-profit organization with mostly volunteer staff. Combining packages does not save you much. $6.00 for parking, the $3.00 fee eats your online saving. Admission to the Greenville village DOES NOT cover the rides. $57 dollars for 2 adults just to park and get in the Greenville village. $32.00 a couple for the unlimited train and T model car rides that takes you no where, and waste your time in waiting. Train ride is a joke, a loop around the place that youre gonna walk through any way, and the right hand view shows you the street you drove by coming in. The speaker volume is very low, you cant hear what the train operator say. Only one ride for kids, the carousel, you dont want to bring your kids from out of state just for a carousel. Too much walking. Not for all ages. I forgot to mention $7 plus tax ice cream for two. Maps and booklet are useless. The book is written in a style to bring you in to the place, while you dont get it till you are entering the gate. The website is a terrible source to plan you trip. May be the content was written by the same people who write ford owner manuals. I enjoyed the truck rouge factory tour which I will review separately. Its not worth coming to Detroit just for this.
