If youre a veteran or military dependent, dont waste your time. I went with my mother last night and tried to get a loyalty card and was told that they would not accept my "commissary card." (What is a commissary card, I have no idea.) I tried to explain to her that this is a MIILTARY ID, not a commissary card, but the girl just had no idea what she was looking at. She gave me her name (Dawn) and a number of someone who wouldnt even be in the office until the next day. I spoke to Vince (not sure which department he works in) and he spent several minutes getting it double checked with the Ohio Lottery folks and came back and said it was fine, go ahead and grab my loyalty card at the guest services. Guest services did not get the message, because they asked me if it was given the okay and they were still dragging their feet. All of this for a military ID? Ive never had problems getting it accepted anywhere. No thanks, I say, I dont have time to sit and deal with this. We spent the money we brought and decided not to come back. Today I call them again because Im still simmering a little bit over not being allowed to use my military ID, and I ask the person I am speaking to (supposedly a supervisor) if this is the same person I spoke to the night before. She says no, there was no supervisor last night, but her voice sounds familiar. In hindsight, it should have been obvious at that point she was lying because one should not have to recall if there was a supervisor on shift the night before in order to remember if she was working then. She tells me under no uncertain terms that they DO NOT accept military IDs for their loyalty card program. Cut and dry. Doesnt happen At this point, they have been given the go ahead by the folks in the Ohio Lottery office and Im having a hard time imagining them turning away veterans on the regular, but this is what this lady is saying. So I hang up, grab the paper that I was given with this ladys name on it and sure enough, the name she gave me today was the name written on the paper last night. It was she that I spoke to, and she for some reason decided to lie about it. At this point Im stewing pretty good over what just happened. Not only have they been given the clear to use military IDs, but this woman has just decided not to. Calling the Downs didnt help. No one knew who to transfer me to aside from the same office. Ive called twice, talked to the staff several times in an attempt to get this resolved but its not my job to make sure that this casino follows a uniform set of rules in line with the law. I just wont be back, and if you plan on using a military ID I wouldnt bother going either. (If youre wondering why the fuss over a loyalty card, let me just mention that one, its the principle and two, the cards usually have great perks and are totally worth getting.) The night before, I did get a card from across town at Hollywood no problem, so if you want to avoid the hassle, just go there.

First, upon arrival we were told by your hostesses there would be a wait. We did expect that. But what we did not expect was your hostesses to tell us they could not give us a time frame. I have never been to any restaurant where they would not give an estimated time frame. We were also not anticipating an hour wait. Second, was the best part of your restaurant. Our waitress, Paige was great. However, nothing else about our experience with your establishment was. I was expecting Brew Brothers to have a much broader selection of their own in house brewed beer. What they did have was a very outdated drink menu. Almost everything that was on your menu was not available. Very disappointing. While a couple of the drinks were fine, the peppered beer, oh what a disgust. Even the name should have given that away, but in attempt to be fair, it was given a chance. But, clearly was way, way off. Third, your food quality was below the food quality I would of expected to receive from a buffet. I ordered garlic fries for my appetizer. While the fries were the best food of the evening, even they were very dry, and without the garlic, were flavorless. For my entrée, I ordered the 8 oz sirloin medium-well. What I got was an over cook piece of flavorless leather. The prices you charge, and the quality of product you serve do not match. Even the two tables that were beside us complained, and sent their sirloin back for the basic same reasons I stated. Improperly cook, and just being outright bland. Clearly your kitchen staff have no experience cooking. As every problem they had with the steaks were because of the grill being to hot. Therfore burning the outside, and improperly cooking the inside. The prime rib sandwich my nephew had was also undercooked. Very disappointing as well with the food. Finally, the biggest irritation of the evening was AFTER we ate, and had a couple drinks, paid our tab, and was walking out that your staff decided it was the time to stop our party and ask my nephew for his identification. Now, can you explain this? Why is AFTER he was served, and had consumed his drink was he ID? If that was a concern isnt that something you clarify BEFORE serving someone, and allowing them to consume the drink(s)? Not at the bottom of the ramp afterwards? What a joke, doubtful I will ever return to your establishment. Think I will wait until a real brewery opens up, which thankfully will not be long.

Eldorado Scioto Downs is beautiful well maintained facility with excellent, helpful, and polite staff. There is plenty to do, slots, horse racing, excellent restaurants and brewery, fun events and concerts, and a new hotel being built! I have never met a rude employee, its seems every employees hey hire is nice and polite! There are great people working at Scioto Downs! I like the laid back feel of this casino! The new restaurant Brews Brothers is excellent! I defiantly recommend trying even if you dont go to the casino to gamble! The food is excellent, and great beers to try! The patio is nice in the summer to sit outside and enjoy a burger and a beer. Even in the colder months they have a fire going out there to keep you warm! I have been going to watch horse racing at Scioto Downs since I was a kid in the 90s! (My Grandpa worked there in the 80s-90s parking cars RIP!) However I do wish they would update the grand stands and most defiantly the TV viewing area for watching the horse racing at other tracks. I feel its very outdated, the TVs are small and hard to see, the lighting is bad and theres no sound. I enjoying sitting out there and betting the horses even if there currently isnt any racing going on at Scioto Downs. The club house is very nice with a nice bar. I love its heated and cooled in the off seasons good place to just hang out with friends. My only problem is, it seems now I never win on the slots. When I first starting going when the casino first opened I hit a big jackpot and seemed I won money quite frequently. Its different now, I have been 20 times in the last year and every time Iv spent $200-$400 in couple hours and walk out broke. I now its gambling and some people lose and some win! Just seems to me the payouts and odds have went way down. People need to win once in while!! I find myself going lees and less now because of this.
