Primarily under the leadership of the tenacious Nancy Florkowski, Motor City Youth and now Adult theatrical productions have served the entire Detroit Metropolitan area for over 25 years.. Students flock from the far reaching suburbs to study in one of the Motor City classes in acting, clowning, improvisation, set design, and playwrighting.. One is enriched in terms of accomplishment as well as increased self esteem when they find that they are capable of standing on a stage, performing in a play. For the young participants, especially, this kind of experience can be life-changing. Attention must be paid to organizations that touch so many young lives- such as The Motor City Players. After finally establishing a theatre of their own, these hearty and talented folks receive much congratulations.

The shows & classes at Motor City Youth Theatre have developed all of my kids (4 girls) into more confident young ladies. Even my one daughter who only did one Broadway Basic class years ago, uses that confidence on the volleyball court today. As an adult I became involved in the Motor City Players and have been a part of wonderful shows like Great Ghost Chase, Lady Pirates of Captain Bree, Dirty Work at the Crossroads, and Sleepy Hollow. They were awesome experiences and turned out to be terrific shows. Whether your interested in attending a class or attending a show as a spectator, you will LOVE it! Kudos to Nancy & the Gang!!

My daughter was in 3 productions. Great experience for a low price. Operated through parent participation. Not many parts for kids under 8, but great early exposure.
